Yeah. I honestly started Season 2 as a Kenny Fangirl. My opinion changed throughout the season. But I feel neutral towards them both now. But I would have to go with liking Luke a bit more than Kenny at this point.
At this point I'm neutral towards Luke. My inclination to 'defend' him is more based on a perception that the majority fan opinion hates hi… morem unfairly while loving his appointed rival unconditionally than it is a personal interest in the character.
I guess the good thing about the episode coming out tomorrow is that we might finally get an end to this ultimately futile character war. Hopefully one or both of them get killed off unambiguously.
I think as a player my loyalties lie with Kenny because I've known him longer. As Clementine, my loyalities lie with Luke. And I'm playing a… mores Clementine, not myself.
My thoughts on Luke getting caught in Carver's camp: I see this in no way as screwing up; he hadn't eaten in days, drank in days and slept in days. That would impact massively on your abilities and judgement. Especially after trekking across a state for days with no food, water or sleep, and probably in the cold, as Luke didn't have time to take any supplies with him. He's in the same outfit he wore back at the ski lodge, implying he set off after the truck immediately, without going back to the lodge for a few supplies first (which in hindsight would have been the best idea). However I think he felt time was the essence here.

Believe me, Kenny was one of my favorite characters in the original Season as well. But I felt a strange sense of dread ever since the developers announced prior to Season 2 that "Kenny's fate would be explored," and having him return and become a major component of his episodes while making his supposed rival more like a bit player was bothersome to me.
I have a feeling that Luke will get hurt during the shootout.

TBH I think (like 90% sure) Luke is going to die in the shootout. The Pizza v. Ice Cream choice is Clem choosing to save the baby or save herself. The other theory is Clem choosing to go into Wellington or stay with Kenny.

True, it seems like the group didn't really attempt to get to know Ben either, I suppose they just didn't notice because they all had people, or he felt such an odd one out that he didn't attempt to fit in more, it's sad.
Luke and Nick really surprised me with how much I liked them and how fast, after Season 1 I doubted I'd like S2 characters as much even though I wanted to but those two were some of the first to prove that wrong, with Pete. I wish Nick had a bigger character arc and was never a determinate, but eh it was really intense convincing Walter not to hurt him.
I agree about Kenny, I love him but I thought Luke was Clem's sidekick this season, not Kenny? Intentional or not Telltale made Kenny the co star which is a shame imo, Clem and Luke had some cool bonding moments in Eps 1 and 2, and some in Ep3 but now Luke feels like a stranger and the cabin group have been mowed down insanely fast. I thought we'd have too big a group, but what seemed like the main characters of the Season were killed to add Bonnie, Mike and Jane, I like them but did it have to be at the expense of the cabin group? I'd prefer Telltale stuck to developing one group from Ep1 onward, not adding new main characters in the very last eps and killing each original so fast
I love all the characters you're talking about. Ben, mostly because he was just such a pitiful character, I mean, everyone had someone throu… moreghout the game. Lilly had Larry. Kenny had Duck and Katjaa and vice versa. Lee had Clem, and Christa and Omid had each other. (until, y'know, people died.) But Ben was always just sort of the odd one out... He was just a kid really. Also, he looks exactly like my favorite actor, so I kinda have a soft spot for him.
Yeah, Nick has more love than Luke did it feels like, even though I'm sure more people actually really love Luke. But because he's pitted against Kenny, Luke has to be beaten down and downplayed as a man and character. I love Nick and Luke equally, maybe Nick more so than Luke. But they're both such good Southern Boys!
And Kenny was awesome in season 1. But season 2, he stole the spotlight. I would've been happier if it had just been Clem and the Cabin group throughout season 2. They stil… [view original content]
I like Luke but for some reason he became really stupid towards the end of the 4th episode and yes, I'm talking about him banging Jane. Not only was he supposed to be keeping lookout for Walkers, but I had told him, "Hey! I helped rob a guy! Their group could come after us!" and he still let his guard down for who knows how many hours. Then he began picking fights with Kenny and disagreeing with him every chance he got, like dude, what the hell? I know Kenny can be a stubborn ass but he just murdered a guy and lost the only person he loved in the world, this is not the time to start this.
I still like Luke (obviously judging by my icon!) and I don't understand all the hate for him either, I know not everyone will like him but … morein my opinion I don't think he has done anything unforgivable or done anything to deserve all this hate, to me it feels like people are looking for reasons to hate him and it seems like everything he does wether it's good or bad will be judged, he's even accused of being a pedophile by some just because he is friendly to Clementine, I guess he should just be mean to her then but then people will hate him still, I guess he can't win!:P
lol well, it is a telltale game, they're like George RR Martin in that sense, if you have a favourite character, they will die. I liked Lee, Carley, Omid and Luke, others too but they just left.

I think Luke even mentions that he tried looking for food but Carver's community picked everything clean.

Good point but I can't help adding the supply things two of them were hashing out in Ep2, that wasn't very civilized :P
Don't deny the truth.

Yesterdaaay, all my troubles seemed so far awaaay.
Whomp whomp.
Remember the good 'ol days? When my favourite character wasn't dead?
Luke's a real great character .. i'm surprised if someone even hates him. Plus he has that cool Texan accent and he looks like PewDiePie :-)
The only annoying thing is that telltale kept killing great characters like him.
