This would mean that Telltale changed it because they didn't want to make MIke a determinate character which points to them doing something with him in the future.
Well it's worth a mention. Mike is either bugged so he can only die on certain platforms, has conditions to be able to be shot, or was retconned into living by his once-massive fanbase and reception.
Reminded me of Nick except with less screw-ups under his belt.
She drops to her knees, goes "Mike, no..." then Arvo shoots you. Then she runs over to you, says "I'm so sorry Clem...", fades to black and then you go through the dream sequence with Lee and wake up in the car. You don't see her again.

Yeah, tried it on PC. The 'Threaten Mike' choice plays out exactly the same as the 'Give Gun' choice (only difference being Clem says "I'll shoot you" beforehand). What I find bizarre about all of this is that regardless of your decision here, you never see or hear about Mike from this point on (save for the 'Is Mike dead?' option, in which we learn Mike did die) so why did they nix this choice?
I can't see his likeability being the reason, as they made his final actions... less than likeable. The player is being held at gunpoint, as three (or two) people are trying to steal ALL the supplies and do a runner using the truck that they didn't even fix; in turn leaving a baby, a child and two others to starve to death in the cold. They gave the player enough of a reason to shoot Mike.
So maybe the theory of him appearing in season 3 might be correct? I mean - I can't think of any other reason at the moment as to why they'd keep him alive.
Also, another video of the choice (the choice was likely cut early; note the janky animation and the lighting on Arvo vanishing again)
Yes thats what the guy is saying that mike was planned to be determinant but probably got un determinant at the last minute in development, and on PS3 it seems some people can shoot him
I haven't tried this yet, but maybe it's determined by how many bullets you use throughout the episode? You have the choice to cover Luke at the start, again when the zombie jumps Kenny and finally if you choose to cover Luke again at the lake....I was positive I even had the option to shoot Arvo in the confrontation scene but decided against clicking it. I later rewind and find that the choice wasn't there?

And this was all on the xbox 360
According to the uploader, the video is of the PC version. They said that had to do some "swapping" to make this scene happen. They may have purposely modded Clem to wear her EP 1-3 outfit and just forgot to switch it back. Or the game may not be playing nice with the mods.
That the uploader had to mod the game to get this to work might explain some of the hiccups seen in the video (such as Mike still holding the bag, or Arvo's eyebrows freaking out at the end, etc.).
But, as you say, this is weird. Strange that this choice (in the PS3 version) managed to slip past the radar. Especially given that it makes a character determinant for a lot of players, when it appears that he wasn't supposed to die in the final release.

You cant
Edit: Only on PS3 seems like you can.
Was he? How do you know?
This would mean that Telltale changed it because they didn't want to make MIke a determinate character which points to them doing something with him in the future.
If they retcon'd the decision...that means people who loved and adored Mike actually saved him.
Unlike Nick.
Please Don't remind me of his off screen death, that was a huge waste of a character.

There's a sound file which is something like "NV_Luke_Pull_Out_Of_Ice"
I'm assuming you chose to try and help Luke which is why Bonnie says she sorry. Do you know what Bonnie says if you choose to cover Luke instead?
Yes she tells Mike to just "leave her" and that they "need to go". Then they run off.
I'm guessing if you shot Mike, she just runs away.
You actually CAN shoot Mike on the PS3 version but can't on the PC version. I can confirm this having played both. And yes, it is a bit odd.
Sounds like downloading the PS3 version but NOT patching the game will give you this option. I can see why they took it out.
Telltale needs to update the PC version because I want to kill Mike. Why do only the PS3 players get the choice? This is bullshit.
Actually I think the PS3 is the non-updated version.
But still, isnt it weird with the "threat" option? "I shoot.." And then we cant decide. It feels like PC is non-updated to me.
OKAY. SO PLAYING BACK AND SEEING VIDEOS. I REALIZED SOMETHING.
In PS3 when Mike comes to take Clem's gun he has the bag in hand.
In PC he drops the bag before coming to take the gun.

Mike does not want to let that bag go
look 24:30-25:00 he frooze to death,i think .-.

I would have shot him and Arvo in an instance.

I think they all might re-appear since it wasn't a slaughter house, like characters usually are killed off in a final episode of something
Good find!I would've probably shot him because I hate traitors.

Can I just say that Clem also doesn't have her jacket on?
Damn this is weird .____.
Nah, I helped Luke but still no chance to kill Mike.
