Is it a wrong choice to let Clementine smoke and drink?

  • I don't see a reason why she ever needs to smoke but a bit to drink here and there isn't really an issue.

I didn't like being offered a drink/a cig, because in both cases I couldn't help to feel they were consciously or inconsciously assuming Clementine would have such a short life she'd be dead before reaching the normal age to try those things.

If felt like some sort of "poor girl, she better try it now" pity.

So I refused, to make a point to the universe that I'm not going to die anytime soon and yes, I will live to be a teenager and do stupid teenager things.

And I think perhaps that's why Kenny had subconsciously in mind too. "She doesn't need that now, she will try it later because she will live to be old enough to try later"

  • "kids get drunk all the time" what a great parent/upcoming parent you are

I'm father of the year BABY.
    Just ask my babies mommas

  • I am smoking for 2 years (I am 18) but my Clementine doesen't, because when I had 11 years, I hated cigarettes :D

I'm 17 And I haven't smoked in my entire life and I'm proud of it. So not everybody has to try it... I never will.

  • Oh You!

    Next time Vape don't eat.

  • That's your opinion...your not her daddy.

    Yes. Its a wrong choice...

What exactly is the normal age? Where I live, the legal age for drinking alcohol is 16.

  • Well, I tried alcohol for the first time when I was 9 or 10 years old. But the only thing that I learned is taht alcohol is disgusting :/

Well, unless one grows up in a brazilian favela or russian commieblock, it's not as young as 11.

  • It's just not right for a kid to start doing those sort of things. Yea there are people out there who do, and I personally know some who actually did, but that doesn't mean she has to.

I thought it was ridiculous that cigarettes and alcohol still exist over 2 years in the zombie apocalypse, but damn Bonnie found a way. I guess you could chalk it up to Bonnie taking both from Carver's armory or she found the cigarettes in the Russian's house with the rest of the supplies they had. My Clementine has no need for those vices and they looked like they tasted like shit anyways (in an alternate play-through).

  • welcome back my friend, thanks for standing up to that asshole :)

  • I kind look as it, as live in the moment. If she wants to smoke it, her choice. I'm not going to say no.

  • Most likely not, but if she pulled a Bigby Wolf and smoked a cigarette every minute, she would probably have a huge side effect.

  • I drank with Nick and Jane. Enjoy this 'normal' time. I didn't smoke with Bonnie, because I didn't get the option, but I wouldn't have.

  • In our world? Possibly

    In ZA world?

    No

I let Clem have a sip and accepted the cigarette. but only as a curiosity. I think it's cool for Clem to know about these things. She's growing up. a sip and puff is no big deal. ;)

  • That's not propaganda, that's fact.

When you were watching those truth.com commercials i was in the bathroom smoking.

It's not healthy for an undeveloped body to frequently drink alcohol. That's not propaganda, that's fact. But yeah, a single drink won't do any harm at all.

  • I let her drink. One sip wasnt going to hurt. I didnt let her smoke though. It wasnt because Kenny was trying to tell me what to do either. I just dont like smoking.

  • What does that mean? Are you trying to say Duck was brain damaged? Lol

Its not right for a 12 years old girl.It might damage her brain or something..Kenny had duck so he knew it was wrong..

  • I didnt think that was sad. I thought it was cute that she was still so innocent in that way.

In a way it is the zombie apocalypse so it doesn't matter, but I really disagree with letting her smoke. I let her try the drink though. Doe

  • No, she may have grown up quickly, but not so quick that she can smoke and drink at the age of 11.

  • No she's so rebel...

  • Guys. She tried to smoke becuse of childlike curiosity. If she would have told Bonnie: "That's good, can I get some more?", it'd be worrying. But she didn't, so no need to be... overzealous. Is that the word?

  • I didn't do it, but that's mostly because I RP Clem as more innocent still. I think people should do what they want, when death looms everywhere I don't see what the big deal is anyway.

  • My Clem drank and smoked every chance she got

    Get drunk with Nick: Check

    Get drunk with Jane: Check

    Smoke with Bonnie: Check

    HardcoreClem

  • I don't really get why people are afraid that Clem might get hooked on cigs or alc. Even if she did like the taste, its not like those things are abundant in a ZA world.

I rejected the drink and the cigarette. I put myself in her shoes and I would have done the same at her age. Hell I still reject cigarettes to this day. Then again, I didn't go through a zombie apocalypse at age 11.

Nothing ethically wrong with doing either, but I don't think children should go near those things. I cared about her too much to have her do them

  • Exactly. In the ZA, there are no laws.

It seems she didn't like it very much anyway, and it's the ZA. Does it matter?

  • Cool story bro.

I don't even know what you're talking about. You sound like one the guys who think everyone on the internet must be American, and therefore watch American commercials.

I'm not basing my opinion on any propaganda commercial, but on common sense and scientific research.

  • She is 12!Not 16.Bytheway I am 19 and i didn't smoke and i will not smoke because the fume makes me feel bad.The same with alchool :D

  • "Sorry I disappointed you Kenny.."

    I loved that line.

Well, she's still 11... No matter how much you hate Kenny, at the end of the day, he didn't want Clem drinking while everyone else was perfectly cool with it.

  • Disappointed in you for taking a sip of rum. Perfectly fine with letting you watch him bash a man's face to jelly. Kenny is a complicated animal, ain't he?

  • I let her drink the moonshine and the rum, especially both were in a situation where people were socially doing it. I dont want the cigarette.

Not necessarily sad that she doesn't know , but sad and terrible that 12 and 11 year olds know what sex is in middle school. They know a large amount of details about it too. I actually liked the fact that Clementine doesn't know. I appreciated that Telltale did that.

  • It depends....

These choices may make her a junkie like Bonnie used to be... if not then why would it be so bad? The world has gone to shizzle, enjoy it while you last, try new things make sure to tell people how you feel about them.... etc....

  • My Clem didn't drink, She wouldn't of smoked either.(Bonnie died.)

  • Nah, Lee wouldn't have wanted her too.. And Kenny being the only person from season one in the group with actual class actually tries to tell Clem she shouldn't do that..

Maybe I will let her drink in season 3 depending on her age..

  • That's up to you to decide really.

You choose what decisions are wrong and which are right for YOUR Clementine :)
