Such a hard question... It depends; there are movies that I like that resonate with me, and there are movies that I think are excellent in and of themselves... Some of these are the one some of these are the other:

    Taxi Driver - Martin Scorsese

Hour of the Wolf - Ingmar Bergman

    Kagemusha - Akira Kurosawa

The Bad Sleep Well - Akira Kurosawa

    Solaris - Andrei Tarkovsky

Summer of Sam - Spike Lee

    The Woodsman - Nicole Kassell

One Hour Photo - Mark Romanek

    Metropolis - Fritz Lang

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead - Sidney Lumnet

Le Feu Follet - Louis Malle

Cruel Story of Youth - Nagisa Oshima

Sooooooooooooo many more... such a hard question...

  • Btw, when you say "Man from Nowhere" - do you mean the Korean movie?

If you liked that, you'd really like "Oldboy," "The Chaser," "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance," "Hwanghae," there are tons of really good Korean films these days.

  • I've seen Oldboy. It was pretty good. Disgusting especially near the end, but good.
