I don't think the idea behind her age is the problem (as Clementine has shown that she's intelligent and resourceful despite her inexperienc… moree), but there are some issues in finding the right balance between making her a competent member of the group and acknowledging that she's still a child.
There are times where it works, like the awkward first meeting with Carver, but there are also scenarios that make the other characters painfully ineffectual for the sake of making Clementine seem more useful.
Yeah It was nice as Lee and the 400 Days cast, I'd like to play as adults in spinoffs though. It feels like her story now though, like Rick and Carl are the comics and TV series stories too
I do agree, the binoculars most of all. Any of them could've used the binoculars. I hope it works more in S3, if Clem is older it'll make her more trusted, but they still need to make adults more protective of her. Imo the point is we know Clem is capable, but new characters should be protective of her till they see her prove that she's capable really
Thats probably the best defence ive heard so far so respect for that, still dont agree tho lol...
Ok lets say your carlos, you have sarah… more to protect, your group finds a little girl in the woods with her arm in bits..... fast forward the shed scenes...
Would you allow pete/luke and nick to take this little girl into the woods on a search and rescue mission less than 24 hours after? Or would you think its safer for a little girl to stay at the cabin?
Would you be ok with luke taking this little girl over the bridge on an assult mission? ?.... would you ask questions as to why this little girl we just met is asked to scout the bridge with the binoculars, would you wonder why this little girl is tasked with shutting down a wind turbine?
And you can ask those same questions from ANYONES POV.... pete/nick/becca/luke/alvin.... the story was forced to operate around clem, and when your force a protagonist...... everything that follows doesn't work or doesnt make sence..

Grate post, this is my point also..
Like for youuuu
Yes. Playing as Clem meant we had situations that were ridiculous for an 11yo girl to be handling while the adults seemed completely incompetent.
Yeah
