Guys, did you notice how Doug looked like he wanted to kill himself? if you chose him instead of Carley, in the First episode he seems happy. But after Carley died, he looks like as if he wants too shoot himself. And then in the second episode he was hungry, and he ate half of the Basket of baked Biscuits, and then he went to his old same sad depressed state. And then in Episode 3, when Lilly was about to shoot ben. If you saw his face. He looked like he knew something was about to die, so he wanted to take the chance and..Do it. I don't know, if my Theory is just stupid or just incorrect. But I wanted to know what you think, though I'm not sure if Doug would sacrafice himself for Ben, don't you think? and also he was faking his Smiles and what not, and he doesn't seem to interact with the Survivors as much, because he liked Carley so much that he didn't even think of moving on.

For Doug...not like he would just grab a gun and off himself. But maybe he had toughts, who knows.
Probably , being a zombie situation where you have nothing to eat for months would leave anyone feeling like ending it.

I think he was depressed after Carley, but I don't think he was suicidal.

He wasn't suicidal, he sacrificed himself to save Ben which was heroic.
On another note...how was Doug even fighting off the walkers in ep. 1? Carley had her gun obviously, but Lee sends Doug over to the wall and he doesn't have any weapons? What was he punching the walkers? Could explain how he got grabbed like that.
I think he was repairing the boards on the windows
If both Doug and Carley survived then Doug will want to live for sure. If one of them dies, then the other will pretty much lose the will to live.
