I could write a series of books, with each book being bigger than the entire Artamène ou le Grand Cyrus* book series, detailing every thing the writers did wrong this season. Mhm, I went there!
*This book series was documented as being the longest one even, spanning over 10 volumes with a grand total of 13,095 pages and about 2,100,000 words.
Oh please, you people...you're not even trying! I could film a six-part documentary of the things they did wrong this season and each part being snuggly fit into a two hours long episode each. Top that! :P

I'm glad his death was heroic atleast but it felt very rushed and forced, Telltale even admitted they killed him for shock value in their interview on the spoiler cast. It really sucks when your favourite character is killed for entertainment purposes and not only was it not nice to do, it seemed quite illogical (like Bonnie surviving and not Luke) but it also didn't make sense with the narrative as they had been building this tension between Kenny and Luke and didn't do anything with it.
Luke was a great guy and Telltale could have done so much more with him:(

I know how you feel, it's the worse feeling in the world. When Kenny 'died' in season 1, everyone told me I was in denial because I said he … morewas alive. I got told that for a year until his return in season 2 episode 2.
But this? This is different. Kenny had a chance of surviving. Luke? There's no way. He either drowned, got bit, or drowned some more. There's no way he coulda gotten out.
Well I know on my 27th birthday I'm staying the heck away from any ice that's for damn sure! "But it's your birthday Lilac, come join us for ice someskating" noooooooooooo!
And it's your birthday tomorrow? =D aw happy early birthday dude! How old are you going to be?
Oh god
No
NO!
Don't say you'll be 27! O_O
DON'T SAY YOU MAJORED IN ART HISTORY NEITHER! THAT'LL BE THE DEATH OF YOU! Did you know having a southern accent and turning 27 will increase your chances of falling through ice? SO DON'T BE ANY OF THESE THINGS! T_T
Tomorrow is my birthday and I'm not crossing ice!
Why did they fucking kill Luke after his birthday... Why?!
That's the worst gift ever for your birthday you get death!
I liked Luke very much also, but as it's just a game, I really much enjoy all the strong emotions it makes me feel, even if it means killing some of the main characters. I mean, this game series wouldn't be the same if all the main characters always survived, and you'd know that from the beginning. Those shocking moments and sad deaths are the one that make this game so awesome. Not every death can be so meaningful and beautiful. That wouldn't even be realistic. Sometimes you can't be prepared for someone's death. Sometimes you don't have the time to say goodbye.

Oh yeah, that guy that fell through the ice. I kinda remember him.
It's funny how Luke fan's claim it was poor writing or for shock value just because their favorite character died.
It's TWD, during a ZA anyone can die at anytime in a multitude of way's. Someone can simply be walking along, trip over a shoelace and fall headfirst on a rock and die. Not very heroic or dramatic, but just because we like them does not mean then MUST live or die in a heroic manner.

Dry your tear's and get over it.
It's funny how Luke fan's claim it was poor writing or for shock value just because their favorite character died.
Telltale said they did it for shock value.
Don't be rude.
It's not so much the fact we wish he never died or we wish he could have had a beautiful death because we know that isn't realistic. What we wish is that Telltale didn't just kill Luke for shock value and that if Luke would have to die then it should have been him vs Kenny, not Jane vs Kenny. Jane had just come into the story and there wasn't really any obvious tension between her and Kenny so it felt quite odd that they made the choice between them two, almost as if they wanted to do that so we weren't expecting it. Also, like you said, it's a game; if Telltale created this tension between Luke and Kenny and made you constantly pick between the two then the best thing to do to follow up with it, is make those choices come into play. It would have been better story telling. Also, Luke's death sucked in terms of how it was written logically, Bonnie survives under the water and Luke doesn't? Bonnie is a smoker so she would have been more unhealthy and had less of a chance of surviving. Luke makes the ice crack when Mike, who runs and holds a baby doesn't?
I don't know, it just felt like a shitty turn off and Luke was introduced to us, and purposely made to look like a main character all to shock us in the end. It feels almost as if Luke's whole presence in the game was purely for shock and that angers me.
I liked Luke very much also, but as it's just a game, I really much enjoy all the strong emotions it makes me feel, even if it means killing… more some of the main characters. You were proved wrong at the beginning when you said 'Luke fan's claim it was poor writing or for shock value just because their favourite character died.' Telltale said it in the Spoilercast, then you were rude and said 'I must have missed the memo where what you say matters to me. If I choose to voice my opinion even if unpopular I will.' When he wasn't telling you that it was wrong, and that wasn't an opinion, you said it like a fact so he was actually proving your 'fact' wrong. I have no complaints about your opinion, if that's what you want to believe then fine, it's a free country but that wasn't an opinion.
Okay, let's try to sort this out finally. First, It was my opinion when I said I felt it funny how people blame Telltale for poor writing or shock value. Telltale had a spoilercast saying it was shock value, then fine, but many others still call it poor writing.. so in that, my statement was true. Your just taking the "shock value part to try to make a point and prove me wrong. notice how people tend to omit certain part's that don't fit their purpose?
Second, my comment about not getting the memo where I had to care what he said was directed to him telling me "Don't be rude". I wasn't intending to be rude but I also do not have to do or behave in any manner that he tell's me. He's not my parent or employer!
Third, was he who called me rude then said bye. I responded with good riddance. Then rather than dropping it, he returned and called me a dick. If he would have honored his "bye" comment we wouldn't be having this discussion now would we?
So, it is my suggestion that we try again to let this die, however, if you insist upon adding fuel to the fire then it's on you!

Heh okay then! This is me, taking the high road and saying sure, let's end this whole thing. This thread was meant to be just about us Luke fan's rioting for his death. You can't expect not to get backlash saying that on a thread with Luke fans fyi. But I will leave it there!

and yet another insult. I tried to suggest letting it go but it seem's to be a concept you are unable to comply with.
I Liked Luke well enough but was never a "fan" of his and we all played the same game, we all know Luke is dead whether or not people choose to accept it. But to call it bad writing, shock value or whatever, I am still within my right to voice my opinion when I said people need to get over it because no matter what the reason, the character is still dead and nothing will change that.
So go ahead and continue the insult's because as I said, you hold no sway over me or my opinion's and nothing you say will change that.
I know I can't sway your opinion and i'm not trying, but you are acting rude.
You're saying this is happening because I responded with an insult?
I say
Alright then, bye!
and you respond with
good riddance!
...Well... You could have responded with "Fine bye" or even "Whatever" but no...You insisted on being rude to me. This is because you can't handle someone disagreeing with you.

Oh you know me well enough to say I can't handle someone disagreeing with me? So you've seen every post I've ever made and know for a fact I cannot be disagreed with?? I disagree with that statement!
I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong but I will defend my opinion's when I feel i'm right too. Now if you cannot handle my opinion's, popular or not does not make me wrong and if you cannot handle a blunt statement then perhap's you should avoid my comment's.
In addition, if you feel i've been rude, then that's how you choose to take it, but just remember, was you who called me a dick and ass but i guess to you that wasn't rude behavior!

Luke died heroically. What's the problem?

Telltale needs to stop doing things for shock value in my opinion and stick to meaningful deaths that flow well with the narrative.
Diving reflex could have saved him. It's possible, you never know.

Don't worry I'm 14 tomorrow at 1:23 AM Eastern time only problem is that I look like a mixture of tv show Glenn and Luke... Uh oh.
Happy Birthday, friend! I'm probably first to celebrate, am I?
Naw there were others like AWESOMEO and WELCOME_TO_WOODBURY
Dang it. But can I have a piece of cake?
Don't drink rum. Luke did.
Or some Rum?
Telltale said they did it for shock value.

Looks like somebody woke up on the wide side of the bed
what happened to bye? just couldn't resist the temptation to come back with another insult?
try again!
I know right!
Also that person who liked that post...
What the hell is wrong with you?!
What do you have against me?
Just cracking a joke about our old buddy Luke.
YOU NEVER KNOW!
I think he's mad at you because you proved him wrong and he doesn't know what else to say. Just ignore him :P
Exactly. Then none of us Luke fans would have a reason to complain about his shitty death!
Win win for all of us!
