Hmm, if seriously, is your name Alexandra (also Alexia, as a guess)?

  • Strikes me as funny, because Alexander an Alexandra are my two favorite names, and she's not comfortable about it.

  • Well, maybe she'd be more comfortable with some other name.

Dick Cheney, perhaps? (yup, referencing Cleese here).

  • My name is Ata which means "ancestor" in Turkish language since i am from Turkey :P

  • My name isn't Alexandra. It's Alexis.

  • So does it bother you when everyone comes up to you and says, "Hello, ancestor!"?

    (Just kidding.)

  • I think Alexis is a great name! It reminds me of an adventure game from many years ago, where you play some ancient Greek sailor named Alexis. (This one was male.) That was on a TRS-80. Yeah, it's been a while. I tried an Internet search, but nothing knows about it.

Sorry that name gives you trouble. "Clover" is nice, too, but alas, I've never played an adventure with a character named Clover in it before. Telltale needs to rectify this.

My name isn't Alexandra. It's Alexis.

  • Not really since my name and surname is really close to a big Turkish leader's name and surname. And i am proud to carry it.

The meaning of your name sounds a bit... weird. But "Cory" sounds good. So no, it's not ugly.

  • Ah, I get it. When you put "ancestor" next to something important, that makes it more impressive.

  • Cory is fine; I've known good people named Cory. I don't think your name defines your desires, though. Maybe it would if you picked it yourself, but that's not usually the case.

  • Supposedly my father was trying to think of a name for me when he found out that my mother was pregnant. He dreamed of me, and in the dream he was calling me , "Elian." (Eh-lee-an). I think he dreamed of this, because in around this time, there was a big news story about this boy who came from Cuba. He went on a boat with his mother trying to get to the US. In the process, his mother drowned, but he got to Miami, where his father was. When he arrived, there was a huge controversy about if they should let him stay, or take him back to Cuba. In the end, he was taken back to Cuba.

And just to add. Most of the time, people mess up my name so bad. That's why I never go to Chick-Fill-A xD. They always say something like, "Elliott" or "Elion" even "Elaine".

I've told strangers who asked for my name that my name was, "Austin." which has a nice ring to it. What do you guys think? Should I change my name to that, or keep the name I have at the moment?

  • My name's Kyle because... I don't know. One thing for sure is that it's way too common in my area. It's so annoying!

  • Change your name to Augustus.
