  • My thoughts on Unity you mean? I was talking about other games. Terminator Salvation for example. I agreed with pretty much everything the review stated. The Sims 3 console version as well. Another example is GTA V. It's just that I tend to agree with what IGN says in their reviews when I play the games later, which is why I'm sceptical about Ūnity.

"Your thoughts" You can't state it as fact, like you were.

  • Some reviewers are trustworthy, like AngryJoe.

I think I found your problem...IGN. Listen, Unity is a great game and you seem a little closed minded of it. Reviews are untrustworthy an

  • Amazing...Still can't play it.

  • I like the Assassin's Creed games a lot. Maybe not as much as some of you, but it still enlightens me. :)

My favorite Assassin's Creed game would have to be Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

I'm currently playing Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, and it is fucking awesome. I'll save Unity and Rogue for later though.

  • Honestly Assassins creed 1 and Revelations are my favorite. :P

  • How do you guys feel about there being a new game released every year? Is it getting repetitive, or is it a new experience with every installment?

  • They've been working on each one for years, it's not like they have one year to make it. It is a new experience each time and enjoyable each time.

  • Honestly as much as I love assassins creed I think they should maybe take a year break.

  • Shay is probably my fav protag so far

  • It would be really cool if Telltale could make a game based off the Assassins Creed IP.

  • I'd play the hell out of that.

  • It's getting repetitive. They add some stuff but it doesn't feel as fresh as AC2, and AC4.

  • Fun fact: Development for Unity begin shortly after Brotherhood wrapped up in 2010

They've been working on each one for years, it's not like they have one year to make it. It is a new experience each time and enjoyable each time.

  • I would have to disagree. Ubisoft has proven that they can make big changes or additions while shipping one game a year. Look at AC Brotherhood. It recycled a lot of things from AC2, but it was still had a lot of new stuff to it.

Honestly as much as I love assassins creed I think they should maybe take a year break.

  • Should have said "I'd play the shit out of that game."
    :D

I'd play the hell out of that.

Okay, here are my final thoughts on Assassin's Creed Unity. And no, I haven't played very much of the story.

So here's what they did right:

The customizations is excellent. Easily the best I've seen in an Assassin's Creed game. You could honestly spend an hour or two just experimenting with different combinations. It is annoying though that so much content is extremely expensive or locked behind the story, companion app or Initiates (although the Initiate chest are still unlocked I think). 9/10

The city is amazing too. Paris feels more life like than any other city since Assassin's Creed 1. The buildings look spectacular and the vibe of a city torn apart by conflict is very believable. 10/10

The co-op missions. Personally I'm not enjoying þem that much, but that's mostly because of my partners not having or using mics. For fuck's sake, don't play a game that works best with communication and not use your mic! There have been countless moments when my teammates have gotten lost or jumped right into conflict and fucked any strategy. As for the missions themselves, they're alright. 8/10

The parkour and freerunning is easily better than Black Flag's. Now you can just hold down one button to get to the ground and it's much quicker than previously. It is hard to enter buildings through windows though. 9/10

    What they did wrong:

This is mostly about the collectibles and side-content, so it'll be one paragraph. It seems like the devs are trying to dissuade you from going through all the side content early, so stuff is either expensive as hell, or hidden behind the companion app, in locked chest or behind locked doors that are hard to open without leveling up first, which you can't do early on, or difficult to get to because it's hidden underground and you have to explore the underground section which has no map at all. Seriously, stop wasting your time with this companion app and Initiates, Ubisoft. I payed for the game already, so give me the full game. 1/10

Just a few thoughts about the combat. Maybe they were trying to make it more realistic, but now it's just extremely difficult since counter moves are harder and there doesn't seem to be any defense if someone pulls out a gun on you. Bring back human shields please.

So there you go. Is Unity bad? No, it's quite good and I will continue to play it. Does it have a shitload of flaws which ruin the game at times? Yep.
7/10. Passable, but I expected better from Ubisoft.

  • While the gameplay itself was pretty amazing (minus the glitches) its story and main characters were rather 'meh' compared to Edward Kenway and Shay Cormac's.

  • I haven't played Rouge yet, and I'm still not excited for it. I am interested in the story, but Rogue looks like Black Flag with a new paint job.
