I really hope that Determinant Characters have more impact in this game.
Basically, I hope we don't get a repeat of TWD:S2, where me saving a character doesn't add anything to the story, like character development/devolution/growth, or just more characterizations. I just hope that the two determinant characters in this 1st ep. (I'm not gonna name them cuz spoilers) actually have some sort of relevance in future episodes.
Let's get back to that TWD:S1 greatness when it comes DCs.

Hmm, I thought more people would agree with this given what we got in TWD:S2. Though, maybe it's not as important given Borderlands's type of humor?
Well determinant characters in TWAU didn't have much impact either. Lawrence has like one line in the rest of the game if you saved him in the final episode and Dum is just standing near the Crooked Man's desk. He helps out in the fight, but the end result is the same and doesn't change anything. But I know what you're saying, but I don't think it's going to happen, characters like Shade and Felix will probably never be seen or heard from again.
I hope they have an effect too, it'd be sad to see another Telltale Game with just the illusion of choice
It may be just me, but I feel like in a game like Tales from the Borderlands determinant characters shouldn't really matter a whole lot. They didn't in Wolf Among Us, and it didn't make the game bad at all. Games like Walking Dead and Game of Thrones should have determinant characters that matter, just because it makes sense in the setting of that world.
Yeah, after some thought, this is what I've come to think as well.
That'd be tough. I really can't see characters like Felix and Shade not making any more of an impression on the game.
There is big difference between the determinant characters in walking dead and tales from the borderlands
In walking dead determinant characters should have more impact since you are constantly making life and death choices over them
In tales having a over the top character stick around way longer than they needs to would be a huge disaster and can you imagine if an annoying character like Clap trap became a Determinant Character and telltale kept him around for the next 4 episodes just so he could have a bigger impact on the story
people on this boards would be losing their minds lol
I'd like to see variation based on our choices, but I could see how the determinant deaths so far would feel different from Walking Dead.
In Walking Dead, the theme was survival amongst a small group that traveled together all throughout the season. In Borderlands, Shade can die, but he was hardly a core part of the storyline. It'll be interesting to see if Felix returns in some fashion as well, but he probably won't be a major player in the group after his betrayal.
Now if we come to more scenarios where people like Sasha and Vaughn can live or die too, than yeah, I hope their characters will still be able to play an important role should we manage to save them.
*Dum
You're right, my bad.
Hell yeah determinant characters should matter. Though I don't see the two current determinant characters making any more impact.
Loader bot . You remember how Vaughn said they got smarter with Jack dying? And chapter 4 has robots fighting? I bet you'll find all your Bot choices matter in this chapter.
Not sure about Felix, but he has connections, I think, so chapter 3 can feature him probably.
Good thing I made the right choice with Loader Bot then.
Blew him up, right?
I would quit playing the moment I see a Clap-Trap unit.
Clap traps awesome screw you guys:)
