  • I'm so tired of everyone's bullshit.

Don't start talking about stuff you have no idea about, I don't care about your little dreams of some kind of robot war, I dream of a better damn future yet you want to live in some kind of war.

    Don't reply to me.

How do you know it won't happen? But believe this "human augmentation" stuff can?

  • Guys, please behave. Also, please only bump a topic if there is something new that comes up for discussion. Thanks!

  • Just found this thread, I think it's cool and there's potential for this stuff in the future, I know MIT s doing some stuff with the Eye and Legs right now.

  • It's just the beginning Salt, we are nearing a time of great innovation!

I saw an article on how in the future parents will be able to choose what features they want their babies to be born with, and we'll even be able to give them superhuman strenght and other "superpowers"

  • That's the augmentation I disagree with, the ones that force someone with no choice into it and when it isn't to save their life.

  • Yeah, even if they're their parents, they don't have the right to chose how another person should look, and i think it should only be used with babies that have some sort of illness, and though it would be cool to have superpowers, i think it will end up putting the species in risk and would break even more the balance with nature

That's the augmentation I disagree with, the ones that force someone with no choice into it and when it isn't to save their life.

  • We should only augment babies when their live depends on it. I think maybe when we are way past augmentation which is FAR in the future then we can start thinking about gene splicing. We just need to focus on helping the disabled and further progressing this species as a whole.

Exactly, right now augmentation should focus on improving people's health and life quality

  • Too bad you're wrong.

  • You come to a thread about a topic you don't know about to comment something completely unrelated.
