Pandora's Box (Interactive story)
This will be an interactive story I will be doing. It will be set 500 years into the future where Earth has been abandoned by humanity because of a virus that turned the dead into zombies which killed half the population. Humans now are scattered around the universe. This story will be about 3 groups attempting to find an ancient treasure (known as Pandora's Box) on a mysterious earth-like planet. The lore of this story is fantasy mixed with sci fi (expect dragons!). Submit your characters now!

He knows when it's not the time to make jokes, and he will get mad at people who are disrespectful.

When I was writing the character template on my ipad last night I accidently deleted it and lost all the progress on it. When I rewrote it I accidently missed out some things. Personality: Henry is a charming and very charismatic gentleman. He is outgoing and get's along with people easily. Unusually for a thief, he does not like to hide in the shadows, instead he is cunning and a master at manipulating and outsmarting people, often tricking them with complex scams. He is highly intelligent and often comes up with very complex plans, sometimes needlessly complex. He is also a bit hedonistic and a womanizer. Despite being a thief and having no qualms in stealing everything, he has high morals. He prefers a peaceful solution to conflicts, does not like unnecessary murder and gives part of his money to the poor. He lives a very lavish and excessive lifestyle. He is also very sarcastic, but never mean. When he is alone, Henry tends to be a very brooding man, even a bit sad over his past mistakes, but he tries not to show this to anyone. He is deeply loyal to his friends.

Weapon of Choice: Henry wears a heavily customized revolver which he named „Stefanie“, after his late wife. He also wears a hidden knife in his sleeve, which he mainly uses to get the opportunity in a fistfight
Backstory: Henry was born as a very poor boy on the streets of a large human settlement. From his early age, he was fascinated with wealth. Starting as a petty thief, he soon found out that his true talents are his natural charisma and brilliant mind. He started to become a con artist and soon got the attention of the Alley Cats, who recruited him for their organisation. In the Cats services, he became a skilled trickster and was soon well-liked by most people in the organisation. During a mission he met a woman named Stefanie, and to his own surprise he fell in love with her. She reciprocated his feelings and they soon married. Stefanie often helped him during his missions, functioning as a distraction for Henrys victims. A few months after they were married, a mission went bad. Stefanie was fatally shot by one of Henrys victims and Henry stabbed the shooter in retaliation. To this day, this remains his only kill. Henry blamed himself for Stefanies death and sank into a life of excess, never showing how much he misses her. He kept her favourite weapon, a customized revolver and named it after her in remembrance.

I've decided to add another race simply called "Beastfolk". They are immensely tall animal-like creatures. They somehow have both canine and feline features. They are covered head to toe in fur, have cat's eyes, a wolf's powerful teeth, long claws that could cut through any armour, long legs that that look more like they belong to a cat then a creature who has a mostly human torso and lion-like tails. They sort of look like this:

When she talks with someone, she comes off as quickly annoyed, snarky and deliberately mean. She has little respect for anyone who demands authority instead of earning it and values competence over anything else. However, she does not actually believe that there are any people who really deserve any kind of respect. Kate has a very hard time saying something nice, which means every kind word from her is absolutely genuine as well as very rare. She also has a problem admitting any sort of friendship with someone or even accepting gratitude. One of her positive traits might be, that she would never hesitate to help other people. Of course, she would never admit that she is helpful, often just claiming that she has her own reasons for doing so. She also does not like meaningless fights, preferring to simply complete her mission with as little violence as possible. Finally, she is extremely kind and caring to animals and babys, mainly because they can't thank her or tell anyone how friendly she can be.

Backstory: Kate was born in a small colony that abhored magic. When her magical abilities became apparent at the age of 8, her family and friends turned on her and tried to kill her. Thanks to her powers she escaped, but had to live on her own for two years. During this time, she was forced to steal to survive, but she showed little skill in pickpocketing. Usually she was able to escape when she was caught, but one time she tried to steal from a Night Crawler. The Night Crawler noticed her magic ability and followed her. Of course, she couldn't run from an assassin for long and was caught. But instead of killing her, the Night Crawler gave her an offer: To become a new member of the organisation. She accepted and soon managed to improve her magic skills under the careful eyes of experienced sorcerers. But while she never showed much talent in most magic, her teleportation skills were proven to be very formidable. To this day, she works for the Night Crawlers and even though she never had many friends she is still relatively happy with her life.

Even though she claims to hate this name, she is rather fond of it and uses it as her code name whenever she needs one.

Personality: Viktor is a boisterous and jovial man who seems to be carefree and has a loud contagious laughter. He loves life's finer pleasures and fighting. For someone who's job contains standing knee-deep in blood, Viktor is remarkably intelligent and sophisticated. He is very well-read and has a great knowledge in classical literature. He also has talent to make new friends, being a very sociable person. Normally he gets along well with most people. However, he has little respect for cruel and rude people and actively hates war profiteers and any person who starts a war. That does not mean that he would never work for them though, for the right price. In the end, it always comes down to money with Viktor. If he is paid the right price, he would do almost anything, except killing good people. In battle he becomes a fierce warrior and a terrible enemy to fight against. From time to time he suffers from severe nightmares, in which he dreams about his dying family. Because of this, he strongly opposes bombing cities. When he is confronted with tragedy and despair, he becomes very thoughtful and caring towards his friends, whom he would always support.

Facial Features: Viktor lost his left eye while fighting an extremely dangerous alien creature and wears a cybernetic eye as a replacement. His whole body is covered in scars and he has a particularly nasty on the left side of his face, which also costed him his eye.

Backstory: Viktor was born on a planet that was torn between civil wars. He lost his parents during a bombardement when he was four years old and was saved by a group of Red Iron mercenaries. From that day on, he idolized the Red Iron and joined them as soon as possible. Thanks to his imposing physique he quickly became one of the organisations more notable members, renowned for his strength and fierceness in battle. During one mission, he was wounded by a large alien predator, which resulted in the loss of his left eye.

He was sent by the Mane to locate and retrieve Pandora's Box as he was told it officially belongs to the Beastfolk. He was born on a Human space station after his Human mother was impregnated by a Beastfolk general. His birth killed his mother. He lived a normal life on that space station until one day Beastfolk came to visit and saw that he had royal purple fur (only Manes have royal fur). He was then transferred to the Mane's palace and then lived a life of privilege.

The Prologue (sort of)
Arafa opened his eyes. He was in a dark room surrounded by armed human guards. His large body was tightly gripped by gigantic chains. He could remember that something bad had happened recently but just couldn't remember. His royal purple ears pricked up when a eardrum-bursting noise violently thundered outside. His heart was now beating furiously against his chest. He was destined to be the fearless ruler of his people, how could he be scared of a mere explosion? His slow, icy breaths became a distorted growl. His whiskers straightened. The great metal door before him suddenly slammed open. A woman angrily stomped through the doorway. Arafa's ears folded backwards. He could sense that he was in deep shit.
Woman: This is all your fault you rejected cabin rug!
The woman screamed this racist insult as she violently smacked his face with the back of her hand.
Arafa: What are you talking about?! Crazy * zrocapum * bitch!
Immensely angered woman: Do you have a single fucking clue what is going on in the galaxy as we speak?!
Arafa: Enlighten me!
Woman: That planet you and your feline chums went to just fired a giant red explosion up into the sky that a cut a hole in the FUCKING SKY!
Arafa: You think I did it, don't you?!
Woman: So far you are the only lifeform me any my colleagues have found on that God forsaken planet!
Arafa: ???
Woman: It will be easier to show you. Guards! Release him!
The soldiers covered head to toe in jet black heavy armour unstrapped the chain from Arafa's blood-stained body.
Woman: Follow me.
Arafa slowly stooped behind the hot-temped woman, realising that he was indeed on the space station that he had grew up in.
Arafa: This is the "Blood Dragon's Wrath"?
Woman: Shut up.
Eventually they were at a large window. The sight that Arafa saw made the fur on his spine stand up. A ginormous blood red hole the size of the sun had been sliced into the black sky.
Woman: Do you remember anything from the Pandora's Box expedition?
The awful, traumatising memories of his journey to find an ancient treasure slowly returned to him.
Arafari: I-I do remember something.
Woman: Start from the beginning.
Arafari: Very well then...
*zrocapum= "furless one" in Beastfolk language

1. The story itself and the characters. Maybe a menacing, but relatable villain, if we can make a wish
2. Hard to say. I hope that the mortality rate stays pretty low, since I think all the characters are pretty fascinating so far. That said, I hope my characters won't die early. I actually hope none of the characters die early, since that makes the occasional death all the more shocking
3. Again, hard to say without seeing how the characters act in the story. My hopes are on Kate (teleporting power rules if you have to get out of a dangerous situation), but I really hope that most characters live for quite a while. You know, games like Dragon Age would be boring if the characters keep dying like flies.
4. Dragons. Space Dragons. Or some kind of giant deep sea creature, since I always found those to be especially disturbing
