  • I think the real unknowing lies in the question "Will it be about Joel and Ellie?" They could easily abandon the two for another cast set in this universe. Or they could just get their money's worth with less than ideal endeavors like say..... a movie or something stupid.

  • I do too, but, to make it better than the first masterpiece? Good luck with that.

  • Really? Lying? You mean one of the things that parents keep trying to teach us to not do? Then scold us and tell us how disappointed they are if they do find out?

Well, fine. Let's say Joel is doing this to protect Ellie from shit she doesn't understand. One problem I have with this reasoning:

Ellie's been born into a shit-hole. She's been through hell with Joel, and even more hell trying to keep him safe. Pretty sure she understands just how dark and sick the world can be, and just how shitty other people are. So what exactly is Joel protecting her from by lying?

  • He is protecting her from knowing the truth about him. She knows the truth he fears he will lose her. Not only would that not ride well with him but he wouldn't be there to protect her in the future. He is also protecting her in the way that he fears she would try to return and give her life for the cure. Something I don't agree with on a moral level but I do find completely understandable.

  • you said it better than i could, even though i was lazy to write it, but still you explained it just the way it is. and your are right tyler. parents always tell us not to lie, but they are hypocrites. we all are, in that sense. we will always tell our kids, our younger siblings, not to ie but we still lie to them, because we feel its what it is best. or we are protecting them, whether or not it is right,or from having to explain something that might be awkward or just feel we might not know how to explain it well. and like Viva said he is trying to protect her from himself, you know so she wont see the him as the person he really is. and even though she has seen something far worse than Joel, David and his faction, he doesnt want to let her see that, let's put it as darkness, that darkness that he really has. and that view of someone can completely ruin someones perspective of the ones you love. i mean it doesnt matter what they done in their journey, they were surviving, but when they show that emotion, that passion that can completely change a person, and most definitively shock and scare people.

  • how so??? in an emotional story. hell no. but can it bring a story that can compete? yes. gameplay? they can only make it better. i think that they can make a story and just an overall experience of the game that can be worthy of being call a sequel of TLOU. but like have said they will only do something if they feel they have a story that will like to tell. again. i trust Naughty Dog.

  • I loved the game and loved the ending. I was very afraid that Naughty Dog was going to give us a choice between sacrificing Ellie or escaping with her, but was glad they stuck with the existing ending. The Joel that they had written so well and we had seen for the entirety of the game was not a man who would make a decision for the greater good if it meant losing his "daughter" for a second time.

As for the final moments, it felt a little bit like Lost in Translation (without the ambiguous whisper). That last exchange showed to what lengths Joel would go to live an "ideal" life with Ellie. He cared about her deeply, but the relationship served as filling the Sarah-sized hole in Joel's heart. He did not by any means consider what she wanted, which arguably would've been the course of action taken if Joel truly and maturely loved Ellie. As for Ellie, her "ok" indicates that she either believes Joel or, more likely, accepts that his actions were done out of love for her and she's ready to continue to live with her new father figure.

For an ending where both characters lived, it was incredibly emotional and depressing. I was waiting for one of the two to die and be mourned by the other, but what we got hit me just as hard if not harder. It stayed true to the characters we spent so much time with and avoided all of the zombie story cliches.

  • True enough, but, we have seen many times before when a sequel has been done, and it has not really lived up to the original (TWD season 2, a good example). But in saying that, Naughty Dog hasn't failed to deliver, so, maybe it will be better. We'll just have to wait and see.

  • well it depends who you are talking about, i love S2 and i count it as a whole one game both seasons. but if you divide it like that yes S1 was better. well that is what i think, there is people that think that S2 was better to them. ( the reason why i felt it was better because of that mega emotional story and the ending. that ending is what i think that propel that game to its heights, but yes S2 had problems too that knocked it so there..) and yes just wait and see. i hope there is one of my favorite games of all time and i just want more, but i dont think there is going to be one. but i get hyped up went i see those rumors, specially that one that supposedly a former developer or whatever leaked it has been worked on, but still no confirmation :/. hopefully they do something like they did on uncharted 3:P
