  • Yup, loved that phrase. It's cool that they included Bigby's inner monologue in this series, since we get straight what Bigby is thinking, without any edits (or having to guess, like we did in the game).

"Maybe you haven't studied that face as much as I have." Aww! Bigby's head over hills for Snow.

  • I didn't try to hard to read that, I just took it as Bigby just not listening as he was starting to wolf out. By the time you get to girls in the woods, the incantation seems to repeat. According to his account, there's some devilry going on for sure.

BTW, did you see Bigby blushing? Loved that lol

  • I didn't try hard to read the Salem flashback as I took it as Bigby blocking the words out, or magic from the witches.

  • Haha, yeah. And Snow saying (somewhat sarcastically) that it would ruin his tough guy image was just classic. Classic indeed.

  • Was reading the descriptions for the upcoming issues, and I have a strange feeling like the Salem flashbacks will end when Bigby and Snow go to Greenleaf's apartment.

  • Which Episode are the comics up to now?

Currently the games episode 2, the next issue will be Snow and Bigby at the Trip Trap. Not too far off, but still a long time.

Issue 18's description does make several indications on what the Salem flashbacks lead too.

FYI, issue 17 is out early. My digital copy was already available.

  • I can't wait until they introduce Georgie Porgie, see how they clarify the story behind him. :3 -sits back and waits-

  • And when your backstory for him is used? XD

  • It looks like Greenleaf was in the picture back then, that's interesting. And you have to say this for Bigby, the way Crane is so handsy with him, he has shown remarkable restraint not tearing his arm off.

  • But Bigby does know her scent so he will notice Greenleaf beyond her glamour, and be searching for the glamour box as well as Crane (considering the aftershave).

  • I have a Subscription and I didn't get the notice until the next day. Not that it mattered. That was the episode they messed up.

  • He showed no recognition of her in the game so I wonder how that will play out.

There were vague recognitions in the game, mostly if you play meanly. Kicking down the door and immediately asking about Crane, pretty vague. Than if Bigby looks at the windchimes he says "fucking witches", a little less vague. The next instance is when Bigby finds the glamour tube and choosing the option to which Bigby would "Snow, are you kidding me, it's a glamour tube. Something's going on here", once again the same vagueness as the windchimes. Than the full recognition is in the words "I'll gladly illustrate how much trouble you're in if you keep up the babes in the woods routine."

  • Yeah, just comes to show how much of a prick Crane really is, and how much of a fool he is around pretty girls (I got my issue late, since I was swamped with work).

Other than the Crane bits, I do wish that Bigby would have smacked around Jack a bit more like in the games - his behaviour of stuffing Jack's mouth with the cloth just seemed to tame (and Jack was just as annoying as usual). And since it seems we're getting close to Pudding and Pie scene, I can't wait to see how they portray Nerissa (since I like the character a lot, though to lesser extent than Snow).

  • Having something forcibly stuffed in your mouth doesn't seem tame to me. I like that the comic Bigby is a little more subtle and less brutish.

  • Meh, the way Bigby did it seemed as if he was doing it like a joke.

But I guess I am pretty bias since I find Jack extremely annoying (the MOST GRATING character I find in Fables) and felt like punching him everytime I see him (I enjoyed smacking the heck out of him in the game).

  • Thanks. To get all the lines Bigby needs to be "big and bad"

  • Yes, i suppose, i quite like it.

  • Wolf Among Us or Wolf Among Us+. The comic has more content, most of which is backstory including character backstory as well as Bigby's thoughts.

  • And it would have made episode 2 better to the point that no one would complain.

  • I think it's a lot easier to add that stuff to a weekly comic than a five part video game series. I don't blame the game for not having those things. I expected them to add more story as the series continued and still do. The comic adaptation to me is an added and welcome bonus to the game and the main comic.

  • Well episode 2 is complained about a lot, and 99.9/100 its about length. If the Salem flashbacks were part of the game, would anyone complain?

  • I have yet to read this adaptation of "the Wolf among Us". Can someone please enlighten me on how different this addaptation is from the game itself innterms of the strory and charecters. Do not be afraid to spoil it for me as I already know the base plot having played the game myself.

  • I appoligise for spelling errors. I am in dire need of sleep and still I insist on remaining here.

  • Well for starters it isn't a direct rip of the game, it includes internal monologues from Bigby (his current thoughts at the time) and the comic introduces backstory on characters that were introduced only in TWAU and not Fables (though we do have backstory on how Crane taught Bigby to act like a human)

Current backstory is during the Salem Witch trials...

It uses characters from the Fables comics in places like Rose Red and Mayor Cole (who were only mentioned in the game)

The general plot is the same, but it is handled differently. Like Bigby arrests Woody for interrogation, but Bluebeard privately tortures Tweedle Dee as well...
