What if Rhys and Fionna are Playable vault hunters in Borderlands 3 :)

That would be AMAZING

They'll have 2 health no matter how many times you level up, if you play as Rhys any time you have a gun there's a 20% he'll randomly drop it and if you play as Fiona there's a 20% chance she'll be distracted by money.

  • They're technically vault hunters in Tales. Also Rhys might become the villain...

    Handsome Rhys

  • Rhys will be able to call in loader bot ^_^

  • I'd prefer them to be NPCs rather than playable characters. :D

That way, 1) everyone could enjoy the characters and not just those who chose to play as them, 2) they could actually have a large impact on the story, 3) they could give out fun side missions, 4) they'd have way more dialog rather than just running around shooting stuff.

  • They aren't "badass" enough, though I'm sure we will see them as side characters during the game, or maybe even make a whole DLC where you do a mission for Rhys and Fiona post-Tales?

  • Well, we don't even know if they survive their adventure, and if they do, I would prefer them as quest giving NPCs.

  • Searching for a vault does not a Vault Hunter make.

Ancient Pandoran proverb - that I definitely, 100%, did not just make up...

I would love to see them in BL3, but only as NPCs.

  • OP i think you didnt spell Dr. Ted right either of those times.

"Dr. Ted is love, Dr. Ted is life."

  • Exactly. I really hope they are at least mentioned in Borderlands 3

  • why not? they are interesting, with telltale characters development and gearbox skill tree creation/idea they can go far. they have potential.. if gearbox dont want them to be the main vault hunters among others, then i wish they can make them a DLC vault hunters. that way no one loses.. personally i think Rhys/Fiona already have that vaulthunter mentality. Fiona is all about the money and leaving pandora like many Other VHs, and rhys is all about being the man with power, hence him wanting that promotion and basically stealing his boss deal when he had no other choice to be at the top.... so they both has what it takes to be vault hunter, but they are basically like the creative directer of BL said; they are basically a level 1 vault hunters. they still need more to be as the others, and you can see that by EP2 Fiona's ((WANTED)) sign got increased in money value.. which mean the more the money, the more others want her dead, which mean she gotta be as powerful as a vault hunter must be to defend herself , she cant run forever, and i think that gun is the beginning to Fiona, i really think she will evolve to being more than a con artist. (i hope), and as far as rhys, he can always go to hyperian where he belong, and he said it. he dont like pandora or its people. and i think he really did leave fiona behind and went to hyperian, hence why she mad at him.. personally i would be so happy for gearbox to include them in future BL3 one way or another, and i really hope they make them Vaulthuntersm especially fiona....... Rhys place is with hyperian, so maybe he'll be a villian or an possible enemy or quest giver or even playable if gearbox wanted, so all we can do now is hope that they'll consider them as playable, because they ARE a telltale characters... so i dont think they'll have a major role in BL3 because they arent a characters that gearbox made. i hope they consider them tho :(

    I HOOOOOPE SO!

  • I Watched an interview in which a creative directer of BL said that they (Rhys/Fiona) IS BASICALLY a level 0 characters. which they will improve. PLUS, in ep2 we noticed an increase in fiona's wanted sign. which lead Athena to go after her! the more people who want fiona dead, especially if they are o the level of athena, the more she HAVE to improve. i can 99% see gearbox considering fiona or rhys to be vaulthunters, especially fiona, BUT we have to remember that they are a characters that TELLTALE made. so how can gearbox make them vaulthunters when they arent the one who made them? idk i HOPE they do :( just an opinion....

  • i think it would be better to just have them as NPC's

  • I much rather have Sasha as a playable character. More Vault Hunter material.

  • Their growth throughout the series is a really good point, and they've obviously already done some incredibly badass things, but I still don't really like the idea of them turning into mass-murdering mercenaries - I don't think either of them have it in them, and I think it would do a disservice to Telltale's characterisation (unless something crazy-bad happens at the end of Tales that makes them snap and out for vengeance)...

  • I honestly kind of hope that they show up as NPCs, not vault hunters. Vault hunters tend to be pretty quiet, even in TPS, so we'd miss out on a lot of their personalities that way. Plus, if they were NPCs it's possible we'd run into both/the whole group and could have fun with their interactions that way.

  • I was thinking that it would be cool if they were all Vault Hunters, Rhys, Sasha, Vaughn and Fiona. While I would be thrilled if this actually happened, I do realize that only Rhys and Fiona would probably be VH, but I really want to see the characters as older, more Pandoran, warriors with their own classes and skill trees and everything.

But I like to see new VHs too, so a Rhys/Fiona DLC is a good idea.

BEST. IDEA. EVER. With 2 others. Sasha and somebody else.

Rhys can turn his arm into an arm cannon as well as punching people with it, summon Loader Bot until he's basically the Scorpio and Sabre turrets, Deathtrap and Bloodwing combined, hack by shooting eye lasers at machinery and be awesome.

Fiona? Any Jakobs or non-elemental weapons now have elements, but they change to suit the opponent-shock if he's got a shield, corrosive if it's a robot, and fire for everything else that isn't a robot or has a shield. And non-elemental if it's immune to elemental damage. I was also thinking if she could have a decoy spam skill, because she's a con artist. Kind of like Timothy's Digi-Jacks and Zero's invisibility. She could spam decoys that teleport and open fire while she's invisible for 2 minutes.

As for Sasha and whoever becomes the 4th member, we'll see.

OH, AND TELLTALE BETTER KEEP THE UNIQUE NPC DIALOGUE.

  • I'm kind of expecting Rhys to be the kind of character who will grow a lot more tougher throughout the game. I personally wouldn't mind that as I feel like Rhys has gotten beaten enough and needs at least one or two moments where he's stepped up and learned to grow more of a backbone.

Their growth throughout the series is a really good point, and they've obviously already done some incredibly badass things, but I still don

  • I think out of the four, Sasha is probably the most likely to be a PC vault-hunter in BL3.

I much rather have Sasha as a playable character. More Vault Hunter material.
