When I used to watch the show he was my favorite character, but I've always seen more people that hate him than love him. I also don't go on any social media other than this so I miss out on most of these trends, purposely. Most people I know that have watched the show always hated him because he wasn't in the comic, and those people also hate the show because it isn't a replica of the comics.
I'd consider something to be overrated when it gets praise that's disproportionate to the product itself. The quality of the product isn't the concern, it's the recognition and praise that it gets that's the concern. Anything can fit the definition of overrated: it can be something that's still really good in it's own right (TLoU), something that's average at best (CoD, namely the Treyarch ones which are alright), or something that's pretty bad or really not that much up to par (having trouble thinking of a good example for this one)
I used this analogy before, and I think it still applies: overrated is like having a crowd of people give a standing ovation for something, but then they continue clapping and cheering for a full 30 minutes afterwards, and you're like "okay, we get it"
An overrated good game is like a renowned athlete completing a race and getting the 30 minute ovation
An overrated average game is like having an out-of-shape guy make it halfway around the track and everyone cheers anyways
An overrated bad game is like having a guy fall unconscious and shit himself, then everyone still cheers for some ungodly reason

This is about the tenth thread bruh you moaned about tlou there are so many worse games which are overrated
Really? I think the lore is overrated (please don't rip out your eyeballs). It's interesting and creative, you want to know what happened, w… morehen it happened, and how it happened, but it's not the greatest thing since sliced bread - Yes, it's a child murderer and spirits haunting Chucky Cheese's.
Honestly, as far as 'lore' goes, I prefer a complex world which is filled out and diverse, rather than something whose only appeal is its ambiguity.
Damn, now I want to go to Chuckie Cheese and play skeetball... Then get some pasta at Vinny T's next door... but they're both closed down... Bastards...
For unanswered questions? Who's he purple guy? Is there more than one killer? Who did the bite of '87? Who was the victim? (Personally I believe it wasn't just some kid, but maybe Jeremy?) What else happened at Fredbear's family diner and the first pizzeria? The questions are there. Fans do want answers.
Well I do think lore is somewhat original but it is getting tiring. Like come on a fourth game? Third one ended in a good note. WHY EVEN NEED A FOURTH ONE!
Hey now, a Jane fan is quite a rarity on these forums. She's been demonized as a bitter grotesque monster, so any fans that aren't fans of Kenny Dick 'N' Balls are ok in my opinion.

Btw, right now I'm playing 999 (Nine Doors, Nine Persons, Nine Hours). It's kind of like a VN, where even bad ends give you little pieces of information which put the puzzle together towards the real end. Basically, nine people are kidnapped and put on a boat, and have to play a game. They have braclets on their arms which are linked to a bomb inside them. If they disobey any of the rules, the bomb goes off. Puzzles and backstabbing ensue.
Honestly, I think there is a lot lacking in terms of gameplay - namely, there are no non-terminal bad ends. There are three or four real choices in the game and that's just what door you go through... Full disclosure, there is no, 'gee I trusted this person and they stabbed me.' But as you play you find out there is more than you intitally though, and only through trying different things do you get bits and pieces here and there. If you like the 'ambiguous lore' type thing, you might enjoy it.
Answering them himself completely destroys the point of figuring it all out yourself. You play the game to get answers to create lore, not have the creator just dish out the answers. And besides, it wouldn't be more complex for the questions to be answered.

Game of Thrones for example, I really like the show, but people are overrating that show like crazy. Also applicable to TWD, Breaking Bad and many other great things. And yes, I think TLOU is overrated, good game but still overrated.
Something can be awesome, yet overrated.

Well that's too bad. Fans are fans. If they like a game, it's fine for them to talk about how much they love it. Do you not talk about TWD or GoT or TFBL?

Considering how many children play games and use the internet these days, I wouldn't be surprised. By millions of fans, I'm disregarding the quarter of them being children. Who knows how the heck they even found the game... And the furry porn is the worst.

Yeah I agree, I like Fnaf only for the story. Game play just looks really shitty to me, I don't own any of the games. And yeah the fan base is such a joke I almost hate liking it

The gameplay is alright in my opinion. But I'm a sucker for jumpscares, so yeah.
And yes, omg the fanbase makes me want to rip my eyes out. I hate how people think Rebornica's AU/theory is canon. And let's not forget the little kids in the fandom, making goddamn Youtube names of the animatronics or "Vincent."

Yeah, all the people who put there names as the animatronics makes me wanna rip my eyes out, and people who just pull theory's out of there ass is hilarious. Thats why I just sit back, watch a few videos about it and then read how dumb all the comments are, good for laughs :P

But if so many people complain about how overrated he is, is he really overrated?

One Direction
to say they're the next Beatles
Yeah, I know there are so many worse games which are overrated. TLOU is one of them. You can't deny it. Don't be a blind fanboy.
Maybe it's just me, but I love murder stories and all that jazz.

I myself aren't a big fan of Kenny, but I can see why he's popular.
Personally I find this thread overrated.
But he doesn't really have to release a game which even makes the story more complex instead of just answering them himself. What was he thinking?

There, I said it.
I can see why they left an impact.

I'll look more into it. Thanks.

It's not overrated if it has a proper reason for it to be praised like that. That's not called overrated, that's called "well-known."
Except, y'know, it doesn't.
Not really it gets more hyped up than any other game ever and I can't really see why
here ya goooo
Well, the millions of fans can see why.
Yeah? Well I can argue a million of us can't and are sick to death of hearing about it
Well that's too bad. Fans are fans. If they like a game, it's fine for them to talk about how much they love it. Do you not talk about TWD or GoT or TFBL?
Its because we're on a Telltale thread. People are over flowing this game on the internet and it spreads like wild fire
Considering how many children play games and use the internet these days, I wouldn't be surprised. By millions of fans, I'm disregarding the quarter of them being children. Who knows how the heck they even found the game... And the furry porn is the worst.
Furry porn....?
Don't go into the FNAF tag on Tumblr.
Just...
whispers save yourself.
Yeah, the savior who verbally attacked me for mercy-killing his girlfriend.
Yeah I agree, I like Fnaf only for the story. Game play just looks really shitty to me, I don't own any of the games. And yeah the fan base is such a joke I almost hate liking it
but but, he... he... hes our only true savior!
Don't question our lord! Sarcasm!111!!!
I think overrated means something that is popular but it's not worthy of getting the praise it deserves.
