Remember when the nearly three hour long film had Godzilla in it for just under fifteen minutes? Ah, good times... wait a second! I mean, wh… moreat a shit pile, and honestly I'd even prefer the 1998 shit fest over this one. At least I could point and laugh at how bad Matthew Broderick did and how the "redesign" looked more like an iguana than a terrifying monster of destruction.
I mean, it wasn't TERRIBLE, as there were some genuinely fantastic, creepy moments in it. But man o'man, there were so many ridiculous plotholes that my suspension of disbelief finally snapped.
Iron Man 3, I really thought it was going to be good, especially since it had the Mandarin in it, but when they revealed him to be nothing b… moreut an actor, it left a bad taste in my mouth, incredibly disappointing. The honest trailer for this movie sums it up perfectly.

I'll say Age of Ultron was honestly a very different beast in comparison to the first one. It succeeded in many things better than the first one. Fell flat on some others, but I think the film itself is still generally good. People were overhyping it and I KNEW they were gonna be disappointed.
Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy were still better though.
Well, here I go...
I LOVE Marvel films, but this one... It wasn't terrible but I didn't really enjoy it either and I can't give the main reason why. It's more like little things packing up. I'd give a 2.5/5
Yeah...this may be late but I had to just say that I absolutely disagree with you about The Lost World. And JP3 was the worst of the 3 to me. While no film is perfect plot-wise, I must say that I found The Lost World every bit as entertaining as the original if not more. Now Jurassic Park 3 I can understand the contempt that movie gets, but not Lost World.
People were overhyping it and I KNEW they were gonna be disappointed.
I am not a overhyper :P, I just thought "A Marvel film! Time to turn my brain off and have a good time!". And well, I didn't... From the beggining to the end, I couldn't enjoy myself. Sure, the special effects were absolutely gorgeous and the film was, itself, well directed and executed but there was something... off about it. If I were to use a metaphor to describe this film, I'd say it's a well-oiled machine. It does its job well but it's somewhat cold.
In my humble opinion, there is nothing to hate about Age of Ultron but there's nothing to love either.
I found a critic, quite some time ago, which translated quite well my feelings toward this Avengers but unfortunately it's not in English...but if you can read french, there you go!
Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy were still better though.
At least we can agree on the fact that Guardians of the Galaxy was A-MA-ZING!

I'm curious, ask him how he liked it in comparison to the other three films I mentioned aboved. If he's curious, I wrote my thesis on 'Taxi Driver,' which is in a part a response to those films - namely that the vigilante of Billy Jack, Death Wish, Walking Tall, and Dirty Harry, might be the same as the political assassin. This one essay I read compared them to Jack Ruby, the guy who shot Lee Harvey Oswald - basically, through violence, they sought to rectify society yet they weren't received as the hero they imagined themselves to be.
Holy shit! My dad loves that film, I've only seen it in pieces, but I thought it was lacking in terms of characterization. Either everyone s… moreeems to be unflinchingly evil douchebags or victims that need rescuing and by principle, I hate when a film that is suppose to be cerebral comes off too strong and overshoots the message.
My dad hates Taxi Driver unironically, mostly because he found Travis to be an unsympathetic psycho. And he loved the first Death Wish from what I understand but disliked the others. I don't think he's ever seen the original Walking Tall, and he liked Dirty Harry to an extent.

Interesting. A lot of people like Taxi Driver for the very same reason - he's somebody who, for the first half of the movie you sympathize with him, yet in the second half of the movie the director turns that sympathy against you. I read the same thing about a Korean movie called 'I Saw the Devil' - it's relatively popular in the States, to my knowlege. Conversely there's One Hour Photo, where the main character begins as a psychopath criminal yet, as you get to know him, you find yourself cautiously sympathizing with him.
Though if your father liked Billy Jack, he'd probably like Walking Tall, not to mention Walking Tall is a based on a real person.

Stephen King agrees with you, from what I've gathered in interviews. Hated that Jack Torrence just sort of went crazy, no reference to the alcoholism from the books, along with downplaying the supernatural elements that drove him nuts.
l understand where you're coming from, but I still LIKE the movie. :P I think I would've agreed with you if I didn't see the movie again. I enjoyed the second viewing far more than the first as a matter of fact. It wasn't as amazing as I was expecting it to be though. But at the same time it wasn't a disappointment either. Do you get me? Don't know if that makes sense or not. xD

The Shining? But why?
Man I hated the reveal for The Mandarin. I don't know much for the comic books, but god damn was that twist extremely stupid.

I think book was better.
Could have been better...

A Clockwork Orange>>>>>>>> The Shining
or fake poker - the film
This movie sucks. It's overrated and stupid. Not scary at all. Maybe except Jack's wife. Her face was scary.
Agreed.
Yeah, I get what you're saying x)
I'll be waiting for Deadpool, Antman and Dr Strange to be in total awe in front of a superhero film again
Viddy well brother, viddy well...
In all seriousness, can't argue with that.
