I loved Henry and Sam. Watching Henry kill Sam and then back into a wall sobbing only to have him angrily blame Joel and then turn the gun on himself was extremely gut wrenching.
And the way he killed himself... just doing it without so much as a hesitation. I mean, everything in that scene was sad. And the face on Joel for that brief moment after Henry's death, you knew Joel was distraught cause when Ellie brings them up again, Joel immediately cuts her advancements of breaking through to him down.
I guess I'm the only one who's like this then. I didn't care for any of the characters whatsoever. Gonna be completely honest here and say The Last of Us was the worst game of 2013. (My opinion at least)
Not really I mean some people are saying positive about it so fucking what its not as overrated as TLOU. It only got a 80 on metacritic so... Remember Me (Same company who made LIS) was big time underrated
I was looking through this thread for comments I completely disagree with, as you do. And you succeeded. Overarching story sucked... sure. I agree. But BRUH. That ending!
If I'm being honest, Mass Effect 2.
People put it up on a pedestal as the best of the series, but I just can't see it. It had pretty much… more no plot direction whatsoever. The first game had this epic far-reaching plot with a great antagonist, epic scope, mystery, and it built everything up for a great sequel. And then...Mass Effect 2 didn't really pick up on that plot at all. 99% of the game was recruiting a bunch of squad mates and solving their daddy issues. The Reaper plot was pretty much sidelined, and come Mass Effect 3 the few things ME2 did to try and be relevant to the overarching trilogy's plot ended up amounting to absolutely nothing anyway.
It's a total drop off point in the trilogy, tbh. And I think part of the reason ME3 suffered so much was because of it.
Also, the gameplay felt like what Gears of War would feel like if Marcus Fenix's feet were nailed to the ground and his pants were riding up.
Most of COD modern warfare games, Sleeping Dogs (got that on steam sales and its not worth the 4 euros), Crysis games (good graphics, everything else is boring), WoW (boring as hell).
Mother fucking The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. I like this game, I really do, but it doesn't deserve SO much of the praise it gets. Back when it first came out, I can completely understand, but now...God no. So many people try to act like the game is flawless and the other TES games are casual games made for the mentally retarded.
Dude, I've played this game. I'm 14. I have a very long attention span. I don't play CoD. I really don't find the game to be good. I didn't like Ellie. I didn't really like Tess. I hated Joel. I hated everyone.
Lol there are A LOT of overrated games but The Last Of Us is not one of them... If you hate TLOU you are either an xbox extremist, have a re… moreally short attention span, too used to COD and blowing up things or are underage ( 80% of people on this forum) and do not understand the complexity of the story.
Companion deaths handled extremely cheaply, by going down an arbitrary checklist of whether or not you solved their daddy issues, which somehow effects the Collectors' ability to shoot Tali in the face...the silliest final boss fight of all time...eh, it was alright. All the companions working together was cool I guess.

I disagree. Skyrim and Oblivion are completely dumbed down and and all the amazing RPG elements that made the series amazing were completely removed. I would agree with you if you said Skyrim was overrated. Because that game is the most overrated game of all time.

Nope. As a matter of fact. I'm with you. ORC is a guilty pleasure of mine. It's obviously a bad game. But what made me love it was the Heroes mode thing, I really like playing as Hunk, Leon, everybody.
Bioshock Infinite didn't deserve all the attention it got, at least concerning it's supposedly intelligent story. Also the setting, idk, it hasn't blown me away like Rapture did, it felt wooden. And the story doesn't make any sense, no matter what anybody says, it doesn't. Ken Levine shot himself in the foot with this multiversum stuff. I liked the game still, but more as a mindless and overly brutal shooter than as a lasting gaming experience.
Also overrated: TLOU (I expected a deep and profund experience, but was only grossed out by Joel's high body count and my own frustrated cursing throughout the game, also video game clichés older than dirt and meager, uninspired ending) and Dragon Age Inquisition (can't talk about it, hurts too much).
As for indie games, I didn't get the hype around The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. At all.

Sue me. -_-
I know they've "dumbed down," but I absolutely can't stand that people ignore the flaws the games has. The combat system is complete and utter ass, the directions NPC give you are often off, some of the dungeons are (unintentionally) mazes, the NPC are the most uninteresting group I've ever encountered(with a few exceptions), the game will occasionally not tell you about essential items you require, sneaking is a damned joke, and God damned, motherfucking Cliff Racers exist in Morrowind!(but seriously, fuck those things)
I love Morrowind. Hell, I even like it more than Oblivion. Morrowind had the best plot, main quest, and immersion for sure and when the directions I was given was right, I had a blast. I'm not pointing this directly at you, but I've seen Morrowind Fans go on and on about how apparently this game was crafted by God himself. "The combat system isn't bad, it's just different! Go back to playing your Skyrim, casual." Is something I see far more than I should when absolutely anyone criticizes the game. There are without a doubt Skyrim and/or Oblivion fans who also do this, but I've easily seen this type of thing from Morrowind fans the most.
I disagree. Skyrim and Oblivion are completely dumbed down and and all the amazing RPG elements that made the series amazing were completely… more removed. I would agree with you if you said Skyrim was overrated. Because that game is the most overrated game of all time.
I agree about the combat system, but you can't deny that Elder Scrolls has never really had good combat, even in Skyrim and Oblivion the combat is ass. If you really want to experience Morrowind in all it's glory. I suggest downloading the Morrowind Overhaul.

but this isn't what annoys me about RE4 the most. What annoys me about it is the people who praise it for being the peak of survival horror which is truly is not.
PREACH IT!!! Seriously, Games Like Eternal Darkness and Silent Hill 2 came out around the same time as RE4. and Fucking resident evil 4 got called the best, that is bull. shit. It turned into Battlefield in Third Person after the 4th one, All the over the top action... I wanted to play Resident Evil when I played resident evil 6, Not watch a Die-Hard movie with quick time events.
I don't think it's the most overrated game ever but for myself one of my biggest disappointments today
I bought it after seeing all the reviews being so high and I just find the game so boring, the gameplay is meh pretty average this game is more about avoiding any conflict then facing it which bores me even though I usually love them sort of games like AC, Arkham, Tomb Raider etc but that had better gameplay for stealth imo and each section I find boring to explore not as rewarding or interesting as some games like tlou/bioshock infinite/Arkham etc
Saying all this not saying it's a bad game I was just so hyped for it and playing it I just feel personally really bored and uninterested the story started solid and the gameplay did but after a few levels it grew stale for me

The Last Of Us is well made and I understand why it's a masterpiece but... The script was predictable and I wrote a story just like this when I was little and Ellie helped a few times but that was the easy situations.
Good but nah... It's fanbase can be a real ass sometimes Gamestop gives 8/10 RAGE INTENSIVIES

I will give the original black ops a pass. I actually liked that one :P
If you play it by yourself it is. But with a group of friends it's a really fun experience.
I loved Henry and Sam. Watching Henry kill Sam and then back into a wall sobbing only to have him angrily blame Joel and then turn the gun on himself was extremely gut wrenching.

A lot of subtly in the character development.
If you play it with a couple of different people it can be really fun. But otherwise, its very boring IMO
Not really I mean some people are saying positive about it so fucking what its not as overrated as TLOU. It only got a 80 on metacritic so... Remember Me (Same company who made LIS) was big time underrated
The Last Of Us is the only one that I've ever felt was a bit overrated, still cool, but it's just OK to me.
RE5 AND RE6 ..... BIGGEST TRASH IN RESIDENT EVIL FRANCHISE...
Black Ops 1 and 2, and Modern Warfare 2 get a pass in my opinion.
I'm assuming this is an April Fools joke, but RE5 and 6 are some of the most hated games is the franchise.
I was looking through this thread for comments I completely disagree with, as you do. And you succeeded. Overarching story sucked... sure. I agree. But BRUH. That ending!
Wow, that's alot of sequels. ._. For some reason I was under the impression it had like... 5 games. How naive I was 20 seconds ago.
FNAF, Zelda, Minecraft, Assassins Creed.
Five nights at Freddy's and The Last of Us.
Any AAA, games with sequel/prequel games and TLOU.
My favorite one would have to Black Ops.
Madden, they never change anything about this game. Repackage it, as the next version, and people buy it.

Five Nights at Freddy's, Far Cry 3 (I think 4th one was better), Assassin's Series, Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor.

Mass Effect 1's was better.

I didn't really like Dishonored either. I sold it after I got bored with it.
Minecraft and all the shit*y simulator games.
Who doesn't love David Cage's creepy sex dreams in a game.
That sucks, I thought you would like it. Sorry.
I always thought Madison Paige was sexy beyond belief
tlou is pretty over rated but the multiplayer for it is super under rated, one of the best multiplayer games IMO
No ok I did too still a great game I can understand the love I don't regret trying it out just personally it just didn't work for me I felt bored
