Dishonored 2 Thread

edited June 2015 in General Chat

So, I dont know how many of you here have played Dishonored, but Dishonored is probably one of my favorite games of all time and Dishonored 2 was announced last night and I thought I would make a thread for those who want to discuss it.

Dishonored 2

So far, there isn't alot known, except for that we can choose to play as Emily or Corvo, which is something really great and interesting to see!

  • I loved the original Dishonored and I'm excited for this one. Hard to choose between Emily and Corvo.

  • Yeah, I hope they both play very differently, if Corvo plays the same as the first one, it looks like Emily will be faster, but maybe due to that, harder to control

  • I'm just gonna go with Emily, because I think that it fits the best story-wise, and those tendril things are pretty badass looking.

  • They seem different already with Emily's tentacle power.

  • My friends and I basically yelled when we noticed the featured hero was a female. I'm definitely picking Emily for my playthrough.

Yeah Ill probably play as Emily my first time as well. I was very happy to hear Corvo would come back aswell, it should be interesting!

  • Unless I'm missing something, you can switch between Corvo and Emily. Not pick one and have to go through the rest of the game with them. Unless Bethesda worded it wrong, that's how it should it be.

  • Well, we dont really know yet, but being able to switch between Corvo and Emily before a mission would be great!

Nope, this was discussed in the post-show. You only get to choose one at the beginning of the game and you are locked into your choice for the rest of the game for reasons that Bethesda aren't disclosing due to spoilers, however, according to them, it will make "sense for the storyline".

  • The other person will probably die or be kidnapped and you'll have to avenge/save them.

I just figured they'd get separated, but that works too.

The other person will probably die or be kidnapped and you'll have to avenge/save them.

  • Any of those three are logical answers

I just figured they'd get separated, but that works too.

  • I'm so psyched, I love the first game and it will be awesome to play as Emily.

  • I wasn't really into the first game but the speedruns that people did were really enjoyable to watch.

  • I find Dishonored a bit overrated. It's still a good game though and I'm definitely excited to play as Emily. :)

  • I'm actually just playing the first one now, its pretty good. However my inability of me to move on without exploring everywhere means its taking me forever. I end up exploring all 4/5 different routes through the locations

  • When I'm Empress I'll build two giant battleships, and make them crash into each other!

  • Hype

  • Thread: Dishonored II (not sure if this should merge with the E3 thread)

Man, I'm hyped for Dishonored 2, after the first Dishonored, I loved the franchise. I love the setting, I love the plot, and I love the little things here and there.

  • I'm also the type of player who wants to look in every nook and cranny and study fun little details. I've spent hours just dicking around at Lady Boyle's party alone. I also did the never kill anyone/never be seen playthrough, which took awhile but was a really neat challenge.

  • I'm so excited for this! All I needed to know was that Emily Kaldwin is playable. That's it. Sold. Day one.

I love Serkonos, it reminds me of an old European colony. And the new plague, the new robot abominations, and the new enemies the fight. Let's hope they give us endings that aren't so black and white.

    They'll probably just merge them.

  • Haven't played the first one, I wasn't really interested.

  • I'm excited but I'm wondering what does picking one character mean for the other?

For example: if I picked Emily would Corvo still have a role in the story?

  • I prefer Deus Ex: Human Revolution over Dishonored, the ending was balls and the game got extremely uninteresting about half way through.

  • I'm really angry now I deleted the game to free up space for GTA before I completed it. It was good and I really liked the graphics and swordfighting.
    Guess I should reinstall.

I am hyped. Dishonored is one of my favorite games. I hope they keep non-lethal since that was my favorite way of playing (although i think im the only one who prefers it)

I didn't kill a single person in my whole playthrough of Dishonored not even the Weepers. I think non-lethal will be possible because of what the guy at the end said:

"Think before you strike! If you kill me you become the assassin we claimed you were, you become one of us!!"

  • Did anybody else notice that was the Outsider narrating the trailer?

  • Yeah also the outsider states that "What you decide will ripple across the years". Although i think were seeing lethal Emily in the trailer even if we did'nt see her kill him.

And also its great to meet another non-lethal player. Did you play the dlc?

  • Yep i think its mainly since he 'sees all' so besides corvo/emily/the bad guys hes the only one who knows whats going on
