Well there is a theory that Felix was gonna use the money to pay Athena for taking care of Fiona and Sasha.
he allready payed athena before the deal, half way through the con he knew they are going to scam vallory's people and she is going to want them dead. so he wanted to take the money, give it to vallory and settle things for the girls being safe. he hired athena incase his plan wouldnt work
he dident want to give the money to vallory. he wanted the money to himself. wonder if you dont kill him he still appers later on.
