Why do they focus on female main?
Telltale has confirmed that TWD is Clementine's story. Now we are having TWD Michone... Ever consider I dunno..... a story focused on a male protagonist considering that the main followers of zombie movies, books, games are guys?

I prefer male characters myself, but in the end it's not really a huge deal. :v As long as the story is good, I don't care if the playable protagonist is male or female. Things like that are irrelevant outside of RPGs.
Why does the gender matter?
because they're not sexist? Because female characters tend to be overlooked in video games. I mean WHY NOT? Seriously, why not have a female character in the game? I mean why should women be excluded from having a representative just because zombie's it's a boy thing.
I assume you forgot about Lee already?
Maybe he's one of these people who has never played season 1 and so thinks season 2 is better?
Who fucking cares about the gender, why does it matter? I couldn't care less about the gender of the PC, all I care about is if it has a good story.
Some people feel as if the protagonist's gender can affect game play. It matters more than it should.
My thoughts exactly!!! This is why nothing else matters but the story.
Would you like it if the game was all white men? Would you like the response "What does gender, and color matter as long as the story is good?"
The story is ABOUT Clementine. Is it not? Do you disagree with the game designers?
No I don't but what the hell has that got to do with your original post? Do you disagree with the fact that LEE was a man? You asked why do they have a female protag when zombies and apocalypses are a boy thing. You asked why didn't they make a game focussed on a male lead. Lee was the lead in the Walking Dead season 1. He was the protagonist in season 1. So you're complaining that Clementine had ONE SEASON dedicated to her as a protagonist. One season with a female lead was too much?
How about a story with nothing but white people. As long as the story is good right? I bet you would be the first to complain if all the people were white. And then throw in some things about racism.
Always have something to say about that don't you?
What the hell? You're playing the race card? That's weak.
You played as Lee. Clementine was the protagonist. From the beginning Telltale has said this is HER story. It is obviously beyond your comprehension to know the difference.
A Walking Dead game set in Georgia with only white people. Yes people would complain. It would be justified.
Someone complaining that a girl was the protagonist for one game is just sad.
That is different. I was just going to say you're sexist. Would you have liked that comment more? You have to balance it out. Plus we have enough male protagonists as it is, what's wrong with having females? Do you not think they're good enough? I decided to say 'Why does the gender matter' because saying that we should have a male protagonist because most of the people who play are men is just stupid. You know what? Don't even bother replying, people like you aren't worth it.
No I'm pointing out the obvious. You claim it's nothing but a good story, and the sex of the person is of no importance. I'm using an argument that shows that that's not true. Gender does matter based on what a person's preference is to a story. My argument is that telltale has put out 2 Walking Dead games now that's protagonist are both female, and I'd like one that had a male protagonist.
I have to ask, did you do thaat on purpose, because Nothing Else Matters is one of Metallica's most well known songs.
No. Lee was the protagonist. His actions defined the story.
protagonist
/prəˈtaɡ(ə)nɪst/
noun
noun: protagonist; plural noun: protagonists
the leading character or one of the major characters in a play, film, novel, etc.
"the novel's main protagonist is an American intelligence officer"
•the main figure or one of the most prominent figures in a situation.
"in this colonial struggle the main protagonists were Great Britain and France"
synonyms: chief character, central/principal/main/leading character, chief/central/principal/main/leading participant, principal, hero/heroine, leading man/lady, title role, lead, star, (leading/key) player, (leading) figure, leading light
"the very first line of the play is spoken by the protagonist"
antonyms: minor character
an advocate or champion of a particular cause or idea.
"he's a strenuous protagonist of the new agricultural policy"
synonyms: supporter, upholder, adherent, backer, proponent, advocate, promoter, champion, exponent, standard-bearer, torch-bearer, prime mover, moving spirit, mainstay, spokesman/spokeswoman/spokesperson
"the EC is a great protagonist of deregulation"
One of the reasons I love TTG The Walking Dead was because of how they presented minority characters. Some people just have over the top reasons as to why they DISLIKE playing a female protagonist in a game.
Yes.
Lee, Wyatt, Vince, Russell....
"Clementine is a character introduced as one of the main non-playable characters in Telltale Games' The Walking Dead episodic adventure video game, a spin-off of the Robert Kirkman comic of the same name. She is voiced by Melissa Hutchison and was written by several people, including Gary Whitta. The second season of the game features Clementine as the lead character, though given her extensive role in both games Clementine is the assumed main protagonist of the game series."
If the sex is of no importance then what the hell is the point of this post?
Again. Play season one. LEE is the protagonist. Yes the story is about Clementine but she isn't the main player until season 2. The events all revolve around Lee. It is his actions and those of the others EXCEPT Clementine that put the finale in motion.
Clementine is the driving force of the story, but Lee is the Protagonist.
Assumed meaning the person who wrote that THINKS. NOT that she is the confirmed protagonist.
Seriously. This whole thread is just. Zombies are a boy thing and so the protagonist should be a man to pander to those UNCOMFORTABLE playing a female for 5 episodes.
Telltale has confirmed she is.
That's because people like you are so short sighted you can't see the end of your nose. All I have to do is want a male protagonist and you label me as a sexist. What you are is a judgmental extremist that labels people without knowing the facts.
"over the top reasons".... Yes I'm over the top because I'm a man, and prefer to play a character as a man.... I suppose that makes a gay man who would like to play a gay character a bad person who hates straight people.
nvm.
Get over yourself. Seriously. You're just trying to get a reaction here. What did you EXPECT to happen when you started this thread? Part of me thinks you're just here to cause arguments.
Besides, you're forgetting that the majority of protagonists in TWDG are MALE.
Says the guy who wants to exclude the minority to appease the supposed majority because zombies is a boy thing.
If you're that uncomfortable with having a female lead then make your own game. And he's not short sighted. Your argument is just WEAK and comes across sexist.
THINKS?
This forum, i damn swear.
No.... You people want to argue. I asked a simple, and honest question. It was the people who took great offense to the thought of a guy who would like a TellTale TWD series with a male protagonist.
From season 2 onwards.
I know. long, disappointed sigh
YOU said sex was of no importance. I was disagreeing with you. Try reading a little better.
Not exactly labelling you, it's not a label. I'm not extreme or judgmental, I'm just sick of this. Who says more men like the zombie genre, it could be an equal split.
