Why do they focus on female main?

Telltale has confirmed that TWD is Clementine's story. Now we are having TWD Michone... Ever consider I dunno..... a story focused on a male protagonist considering that the main followers of zombie movies, books, games are guys?

  • I prefer male characters myself, but in the end it's not really a huge deal. :v As long as the story is good, I don't care if the playable protagonist is male or female. Things like that are irrelevant outside of RPGs.

  • Why does the gender matter?

  • because they're not sexist? Because female characters tend to be overlooked in video games. I mean WHY NOT? Seriously, why not have a female character in the game? I mean why should women be excluded from having a representative just because zombie's it's a boy thing.

  • I assume you forgot about Lee already?

  • Maybe he's one of these people who has never played season 1 and so thinks season 2 is better?

  • Who fucking cares about the gender, why does it matter? I couldn't care less about the gender of the PC, all I care about is if it has a good story.

  • Why does the gender matter?

Some people feel as if the protagonist's gender can affect game play. It matters more than it should.

No I don't but what the hell has that got to do with your original post? Do you disagree with the fact that LEE was a man? You asked why do they have a female protag when zombies and apocalypses are a boy thing. You asked why didn't they make a game focussed on a male lead. Lee was the lead in the Walking Dead season 1. He was the protagonist in season 1. So you're complaining that Clementine had ONE SEASON dedicated to her as a protagonist. One season with a female lead was too much?

  • How about a story with nothing but white people. As long as the story is good right? I bet you would be the first to complain if all the people were white. And then throw in some things about racism.

  • A Walking Dead game set in Georgia with only white people. Yes people would complain. It would be justified.

Someone complaining that a girl was the protagonist for one game is just sad.

  • That is different. I was just going to say you're sexist. Would you have liked that comment more? You have to balance it out. Plus we have enough male protagonists as it is, what's wrong with having females? Do you not think they're good enough? I decided to say 'Why does the gender matter' because saying that we should have a male protagonist because most of the people who play are men is just stupid. You know what? Don't even bother replying, people like you aren't worth it.

  • No I'm pointing out the obvious. You claim it's nothing but a good story, and the sex of the person is of no importance. I'm using an argument that shows that that's not true. Gender does matter based on what a person's preference is to a story. My argument is that telltale has put out 2 Walking Dead games now that's protagonist are both female, and I'd like one that had a male protagonist.

One of the reasons I love TTG The Walking Dead was because of how they presented minority characters. Some people just have over the top reasons as to why they DISLIKE playing a female protagonist in a game.

  • Lee, Wyatt, Vince, Russell....

  • "Clementine is a character introduced as one of the main non-playable characters in Telltale Games' The Walking Dead episodic adventure video game, a spin-off of the Robert Kirkman comic of the same name. She is voiced by Melissa Hutchison and was written by several people, including Gary Whitta. The second season of the game features Clementine as the lead character, though given her extensive role in both games Clementine is the assumed main protagonist of the game series."

Again. Play season one. LEE is the protagonist. Yes the story is about Clementine but she isn't the main player until season 2. The events all revolve around Lee. It is his actions and those of the others EXCEPT Clementine that put the finale in motion.

Clementine is the driving force of the story, but Lee is the Protagonist.

    nvm.

  • Get over yourself. Seriously. You're just trying to get a reaction here. What did you EXPECT to happen when you started this thread? Part of me thinks you're just here to cause arguments.

Besides, you're forgetting that the majority of protagonists in TWDG are MALE.

  • Says the guy who wants to exclude the minority to appease the supposed majority because zombies is a boy thing.

If you're that uncomfortable with having a female lead then make your own game. And he's not short sighted. Your argument is just WEAK and comes across sexist.

Not exactly labelling you, it's not a label. I'm not extreme or judgmental, I'm just sick of this. Who says more men like the zombie genre, it could be an equal split.
