What was your Favourite Opening in a Video Game?
Title says it all. Mine has to be the opening sequence to Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2. The castle siege was well done. It was just too damn good for me. The cinematics, the action, the atmosphere and soundtrack just driven me into this game.

Tales from the Borderlands openings of course
TFTBL opening cinematics are the best by far.
I love the Last of us opening. Just throws you straight into the action and then makes you cry for a character you've only known for about 15 minutes.
Portal 2 had a pretty good opening sequence.
Bioshock : Namely the elevator to Rapture
All the Borderlands games, including Tales.
Call of Duty 4 : escaping a sinking ship, followed by watching a coup/execution in first person.
Sure I'm forgetting some.
A strong contender on my list would be the opening of the original Left 4 Dead. Not only did it introduce you to the characters and the world but it also illustrated quite a few gameplay points in that 4 minute cinematic. You saw the witch being startled by light, smokers pulling survivors away, seeing a group member get incapped then revived by another, going off alone leads to death, car alarms attract the horde. And a few more. And all of it looked natural. It was almost like a guide telling you the very basic strategies of the game instead of what they did with the L4D2 opening, which was just EXPLOSIONS and zombie killing.
Bioshock absolutely, I don't know if it was better seeing Rapture for the first time or hearing Andrew Ryan's objectivist speech.
Indigo Prophecy had such a great intro. You wake in a bathroom of a diner with blood all over yourself, a knife in your hand, and a dead body just sitting on the floor, and a cop is about to go use the restroom, so you have to hurry up and clean up all the evidence and make a break for it without causing suspicion. It's so fucking tense and I really wish the rest of the game was just as well made as the intro.
I like this one, not sure about my favorite right now.
The one thing I like is Batman: Arkham City, where it starts with a portrait of Cain holding Abel's body, which eerily foreshadows what happens in the ending. Also, there's the epic openings of Arkham Origins, as well as the openings of the Prince of Persia games (Warrior Within, The Two Thrones). There are other games I haven't mentioned yet, but it's still good.
Bioshock is a good answer.
Half-life 2. Gman is one of my favorite characters.
I can't really decide my most favorite, but one opening that I really like that hasn't been mentioned here yet is God of War 3.
Final Fantasy VI has the most epic intro of all time, not to mention it sets the opera thematic that will recur throughout the entire game.

Hell yeah, Hit the Road's intro is so fucking good. It made go "Sam & Max really needs a Cartoon", but I realized like a year later there was a Sam & Max cartoon and I bought the complete animated series for it like a week later online. That was back in 2010 I think.

big fan of dragon age. not always with best graphics, origins was similar but still their cut seanes were epic.
Beyond: Two Souls. Jodie and Aiden are badass. The police and SWAT had no idea who they were fucking with.

That whole opening monologue is great IMO. But yeah, that line has a way of sticking with me.

I love the opening cinematic for Silent Hill 1, mostly because of the song, Akira Yamaoka is amazing, 2 has a good song but I think the theme for 1 is the most recognizeable tune in the franchise and I like it better.enter link description here

I also quite like the extremely lengthy intro of Metal Gear Solid 4, it has a really good Snake monologue and the Metal Gear Love Theme in the background is fantastic.
I'm also quite fond of the intro to Eternal Darkness, I love the narration and it sets the tone really well.

Everytime i load this game i swear it crashes. What a frustrating game. I have NO MODS installed.
I have yet to play that series, I heard a lot of good stuff though. I'm waiting it out for now. I already play the "Play and Wait" game with LIS, so if also did that the same time with TFTB I think I'll crack.

Favorite actress. After watching her interviews, how can anyone not fall in love with her? She is breathtaking.
I know right? She's always being herself. That conference when she came out still gives me goosebumps. :P
That's why she's awesome, and it still gives me goosebumps, too. Especially when she stepped back from the mic as people applauded. If she was carrying weight, she got lighter that day.
