I was kinda thinking more of replacing Mike with Josh at the end, so he kinda had some sort of redemption(where he blows himself up). It jus… moret kinda feels weird that Josh never got any redemption for what he did to his friends and how he felt about his sisters deaths. I don't know, I guess his "surviving" ending works... but its sad
I'm not sure about character deaths, but dialogue changes during the game, they'll have arguments with each in the cut scenes and some of the interviews at the end change!
Because I dislike the others more?
Ashley I found very dull, Josh is a psycho, Mike is a classic horrible lying selfish two timing jock t… moreype, at the same time as being the typical 2000s/2010s protagonist which made him duller. Oh, and he's homophobic, so yeah, not my fave.
Also Emily showed remorse for her actions which is more than can be said for most of the group.
Whether you get to see Jess in her underwear is determined by your choices and level of romantic relationship. She'll either reject you entirely, get down to her pants and shirt, or strip down to her bra and panties for the sex scene.
Mike's plot armour is ridiculous. I can understand Sam surviving until the end given she's never really in direct danger until the last part, but they really should have had the option for Mike to die in the sanatorium or at least in the mines with Josh (as far as I can tell, he can't, even if you fail the QTEs). I mean the only reason Mike was automatically alive in the mines was so Sam had someone to talk to about Beth's grave and Hannah's diary and they could have reworked it so all that dialogue was done later with Josh instead. As for in the lodge, Sam could have been the one to break the lightbulb and, if necessary, sacrifice herself with the lighter. Given Mike's the one that had to deal with the most wendigoes, it's pretty bizarre if he always makes it out of there.
Well the problem with that is that if josh knew about the curse he wouldn't have transformed because he would know the consequences of eating human meat.

Its about a group of 8 teenagers who go on their annual winter get away. The game is part homage to all old group cabin movies and horror movies in general containing several references to films like Wicker man, Saw, Friday the 13th and many others. The entire point of the game is to save as many of the main characters Until Dawn from various threats supernatural or otherwise. The choice mechanic is fantastic even better than telltale as they actually make EVERYTHING matter. In the end you can save EVERY character or save no one depending on your choices and various QTE's.
A good relationship between Ashley and Chris is VITAL for one of them to live. Also it determines overall charcter behavior especially in the final episodes.
Its funny that you say that because the developmet team stated that they wanted as much psychological and environmental horror as possible and BARELY any jumpscares since the considered them 'cheap'. And i do think they succeeded (for me and a few others)
Fair enough, personally I can't forgive Josh for tormenting the group so much and determinantely causing the deaths of Emily and Matt by hiding the cablecar keys, and I love how sexually open Jessica is, and I played her as a pretty intelligent compassionate person.
My list is pretty similar to yours, expect that Jessica is lower while Josh is higher.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one who didn't care much about Mike at all.

Another thing I'll make another comment for, does the psychologist office choices (e.g. fear clowns or zombies, drowning or planes) change anything beyond the surroundings in said office?
The gun choice is vital for them to live, but depending on your relationship, Ashley will either ask Chris to kill her or beg Chris to NOT kill her(If you shot her with a good relatioship, she still won't let you in).
Some elements in the game change, for example: Chris gets scared by a zombie or a clown or a scarecrow, The Phycho chases you with a syringe or a gas cylinder thingy, ect.

As much as I think that what Josh did was wrong, I can't really be angry at him for going off the deep end considering how his own friends caused the disappearance of Hannah and Beth. And then there's how their actions indirectly caused Beth's death and Hannah's transformation into a Wendigo for eleven years after being nearly starved to death with a broken leg for a month down in the mines with no way to escape.
Josh's friends get to move on with their lives and fulfil their dreams and wishes while show little remorse over what they did to Josh and his sisters, while Beth dies from the fall, and Hannah gets to live in the mines for a month with no food, no treatment, and no escape, and her desperation via cannibalism earns her an eleven month hell as a Wendigo.
And Josh has to live with the knowledge that his sisters are gone forever, his family is destroyed due to their daughters disappearance, and his friends (sans Sam, and possibly Chris) gets off scott-free. It's no wonder he snapped.

Emily seems like a classic bitch type though, "I'm so insecure about myself I'll treat others like shit". She pretty much never showed remorse when I watched, she was always complaining, being rude, etc. In fact, if at the end she didn't try and rat Mike and Matt out for doing normal survivalist things during stressful situations then I would've liked her more but nope, she complained.

I managed to save Sam, that nongrateful ass bitch Emily, Matt & Jessica. Josh became a wendigo in my playthrough too so technically I guess he survived also.
At least for the beginning portion. I'm getting towards the end of the game and it focuses less and less on suspenseful horror and more on jump scares. And to make matters worse is by the lack of suspense the jump scares they are resorting to are far less efficacious. Still a great game, though.

I'm not the only one who thinks that this game is "setting the new standard" from some reviwers is pushing it, am I?. It doesn't look awful, it just doesn't look any different from what Heavy Rain did.

Also his overall fear can change from isolation to dead bodies or another one that an lets player found. And if you keep picking guts you'll see....some preatty disturbing

Yes, due to the 8 character cast there are about 10 endings depending on who you save (That is not counting the various character relationships in the endings based on choice) And the replay value is just as good as heavy rain.
Meh. Wasn't nearly as gut wrenching as the earlier suspense. It was a lot of holding still, but I just didn't find the wendigo's that terrifying. The whole psycho/ghosts/stranger portion of the game was far and away more scary imo. The scenes at the end were really interesting, though I felt it ended a bit too abruptly. Would have liked a few minutes of intermingling with the group. For instance SPOILER how did Jess not know if Mike made it? They expect me to believe what? The survivors didn't even look at eachother after the end? All in all though it was a great game.
I thought TLOU 2 would be only reason to buy myself a PS 4, but after seeing some videos of this game, I am going to ask my parents to buy one for me at Christmas.
Comments
Plz.
The ending didn't really stick to me as a real ending, they could have shown more instead of the police interview.
It's a bit dissapointing I think. The choice thing is awesome, but it's just jumpscares. It's not a true horror like Outlast
Yeah, Sam's epilogue was great.
Anyone want to post a review about the game? It would be nice to know what its about, what its like, and all that .
Had. Sold it to one hulk from Chernobyl.
Does the personality and relationship bars for each person have any actual effect on the game? It's a shame if not.

You take that back!

I give it a 9/10.

Basically what everyone said.

Ah, well...not exactly the type of consequence I was hoping for from the relationship system, but it's something I guess :P
Doesn't that depend on the gun choice, not their actual relationship? Or does the gun choice just contribute?
Another thing I'll make another comment for, does the psychologist office choices (e.g. fear clowns or zombies, drowning or planes) change anything beyond the surroundings in said office?

There are more choices and outcomes in this game than in Heavy Rain, aren't there? As well as a much more diverse cast.
What does that have to do with it?
Depends. What do the reviewers think this game is setting a new standard for?
I agree but you have to admit that last section was VERY tense

TheradBrad just uploaded his final video. I'll let you know in a bit!

Anyone need a code for the preorder dlc, I have a spare.
