    the baseball bat choice

During the chase as Sam, if you hide just before finding the door you can wake the psycho with the bat if you found it.

    the squirrel choice

I believe I heard the squirrel will alert the psycho to a characters presence if you shoot it, but I'm not too sure.

  • No, a guy in the real world.

I understand why that psycho who shot women for not going out with him a year back did so, but I still hate him. ...You completely lost me there. Are we talking about Josh here, or a completely different person?

So basically, if you're not nice to her, she doesn't care about you? Like most people? it's not like Matt and her had been going out for very long, either.

Also I gave lots of other arguments about why she isn't last on my list, you've only picked at one :P

You asked me why she was high, I gave my reasons, and you basically said 'but she's a bitch' which didn't really address my reasons - so I clarified my reasons further. I never thought you were attacking me...? I was under the impression that you merely disagreed.

Actually, unless you have a great relationship with her, she could couldn't care less if you tried to help her. Flog, you do realize I'm only asking for your opinion on a character, right? Not attacking you because of it.

  • Really beautiful game. Graphic, characters and locations are stunning. Sure it is pretty cliche with some college kids in the woods while serial killer is on the way, but I enjoyed it. Choices actually matter so that is cool. I even enjoyed those theraphy sessions with the creepy doctor since we can pick what we really fear, want and who do we like and dislike the most. I wish there were more parts with Matt and Jessica, though. Still, 9/10!

  • What happens if you hit the psycho with it?

Ah yeah, that makes sense. I think if you shoot the squirrel, it reveals that you're hiding in the elevator shaft.

More like if you don't really agree with her a lot she doesn't care.

Oh, I know. I don't really care enough to debate about it, it is your opinion after all, I can't exactly tell you your opinions are wrong....Unless they are but yours aren't.

I never thought you were attacking me...? I was under the impression that you merely disagreed.

Ah good, I'm just a little off lately from a lot of bullshit and I wanted to make sure.

  • What happens if you hit the psycho with it?

Well you get away and continue the chase. It's basically a continue if you screw up in that part.

I thin kit's kinda supposed to be a bit cliche? It's a sorta playable B horror movie, idk.

  • i'm at chapter 6 now, amazing game and so fucking scary

  • I heard the devs are talking about a possible PC version.

  • can someone PLEASE SEND ME A DLC CODE for matt and emily i dont have it pleaseeeee

It's interesting that only two of the characters (Jessica and Matt) can actually die before Chapter 8 of 10. All the others have plot armour until at least that point. So, as long as Mike takes the quicker paths on the way to save Jessica, and Matt doesn't try to save Emily from falling, then it doesn't matter what else you do, everyone will still be alive at the beginning of Chapter 8.

(That being said, if you chose to have Chris shoot Ashley instead of himself or no-one in Chapter 6, then Chris is already a walking dead man.)

EDIT: Also, you know, maybe don't attack a herd of deer with an axe!

  • Wait, I thought Mike could die in the sanatorium, does that mean that we could fail all the qtes and he'll be still alive??

  • I can't wait for my birthday, ps4 and this game ;___;

  • edited September 2015

Seems that way. I'm pretty sure he and Sam both automatically make it to the lodge at the end. It's pretty ridiculous.

  • Lol no

  • and Matt doesn't try to save Emily from falling,

Actually you can do that so long as Matt has the flare and he keeps it (based on whether or not you disagreed with Emily's plan and whether or not you got the power going on the tower first. Also whether or not you got him killed before you got to the tower).

I once watched a streamer failing almost every qte. Yes, he won't die. Yep, it freaking ridiculous. Especially if you fail while sliding down (chasing Jessica) and he falls from ~10-15m on his back and nothing happens.

I'm not sure he can die in sanatorium too. Because I've seen 5 different playthroughs (including those where people tried to kill all the characters and made bad desicions) and in every one of them he lived till the very end. The same goes for Sam. I still don't know if she can die anywhere but in the cabin in the end.

    Three, I reckon.

There's a trophy for everyone living, a trophy for everyone dying, and a trophy for setting the house on fire immediately, which requires at least one person to survive, but kills at least Mike?

    A couple of playthroughs.

  • I once watched a streamer failing almost every qte.

With just Mike? If so I'd guess Angry Joe.

  • Who threw Jessica's phone through the cabin window?

  • I'm curious, if you rewind to just that last chapter after completing the game, do you still get that achievement?

  • Probably the Windeigo or however you spell it.

  • I've seen people saying the characters are cliché, and I'm curious to know why that is. The characters, to me, seemed to have quite a bit of depth, and their dialogue didn't strike me as cliché at minus just a few parts (though if a character were to never say anything even slightly cliché it would strike me as weird).

  • Legend says you shouldn't hurt animals because you'll break balance or something. Later a pack of squirrels may push you off the cliff.

  • It's a bit like life is strange - the characters in Until Dawn may seem cliche at first (selfish jock, cheerleader-type girlfriend etc), but they gain depth and development which shows they're more than that.

  • Yeah, I knew that way of saving him, but it's over-complicated. I'm not sure why disagreeing with Emily earlier equals Matt keeping the flare gun instead of firing it immediately. Easier just to not try to save Emily, given she can't die at that point anyway. I'd forgotten about the deer knocking Matt off the cliff, probably because I'm not sure why anyone would think attacking a deer with an axe would be a smart idea anyway.

  • They mean 'stereotypical'. The game is designed to basically be an interactive horror film and deliberately incorporates all the tropes associated with classic horror films - the token black guy who dies early, the over-sexualised bad girl who dies early, the hero jock, the pure girl who often survives, the awkward/nerdy jokester etc. That's not to say the characters can't be deeper than that or even go against the role they've been assigned, but they still fit within that familiar outline. See Joss Whedon's film 'The Cabin in the Woods' for further detail.

  • Not going to spoil anything, but I CAN'T be the only one who noticed something... "new" and "different" about Dr Hill's beginning lines in the first therapy session with him, that plays out when you play the game a second time. I just love the small little things they added in the game.

Plus the ending of the game was really well done, in my opinion. They don't pull a cheesy ending that fully wraps up the story; it wraps it up, but in a way that I found well done and realistic.

  • You know... I'm not sure. Mike and Sam he just tried to kill in this pt so he tried to fail their qte, but as the rest could be kiled by different means (and Mike and Sam can only die in the cabin it seems) he didn't bother with them.

Nah, it's our local letsplayer. I just don't think that many people would know him since he doesn't speak english so I didn't mention him name.
