Ah I see. From what I have heard- and experienced with the walking dead- last gen console versions of Telltale games suffer from technical issues. I played the finale on PS4, and the only technical issue I can say is that the loading can be long at times compared to previous episodes.
From my experience that seems to be the case with the last gen consoles. I have played Telltale games from Walking Dead to current Game of Thrones on PS4 and have not encountered any of the bugs that plagued my Ps3 playthroughs.
Its good to hear different opinions, especially when it comes to deciding on a purchase of a game or whatever. In the case of IGN, for example, I take IGN's comic book reviews seriously as they have helped me in the past with deciding whether or not to buy a specific comic.
I agree that some of the plot lines not being resolved this Season didn't help the episode, but I don't think it deserves that low of a score. I'd give it an 8 or so.
I hate how this whole series has gotten so much negativity, I think most people have the opinion of it being the worst Telltale Game which I really think it isn't.
It is one of the worst TellTale games I played (although not horrible, it is an okay-ish game), but the title of the absolute worst still belongs to TWD S2.

Well, I can't speak for everybody, and I could write forever here about what I didn't like, but mainly it was that TellTale's focus was more on shocking deaths than on the political schemes, and then they axed the only POV that actually dealt with said schemes directly. I read the books, I don't watch the show, and that's what I really enjoy in the books. I don't know if the focus of the show is similar to the focus of this game.
And, of course, there was the whole traitor business back in episode 5 that really pissed me off. It is a shame, the game seemed to be going in a good direction up to episode 4.
Yes oh my god, during the battle with the Whitehills at ironrath near the end of the story the audio was glitching out so badly, it completely ruined the scene for me
I've been watching (mostly reading) content them for a couple years. They've a bunch of console players that just call the PC platform trash all the time, they also post like 20 YouTube videos a day, and their reviews are usually really ignorant or too simplistic. Like for example some things they would rate a game negative for are things that most wouldn't such as replay ability, play time, etc. And they also just yesterday put up a pretty humorous video that was immediately taken down saying that you couldn't record gameplay easily on PC.

The people that have said that have probably not played Telltale games prior to season 1 of TWD, for I can name a few past titles much worse. I also don't think S2 of TWD is nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be on these here forums.

I'm pretty sure things like replay value and hours of playtime are important to bring up in a review, and IGN isn't the only gaming review site to talk about those things. Just because some players don't care about them doesn't mean others do or that they are not worth bringing up, especially if you are paying sixty bucks for a game.

I really liked the story it was pretty shallow and run of the mill but it got me really heated up and into it so I don't know different strokes kinda thing. Alot of the plot points this season seemed to be ripped from the books though. Aside from shallow story and a horribly buggy episode it got me in the mood and I liked it. 7/10. P.S. it's an IGN review probably too much water in this episode for their taste.
It's my least favorite because YOUR CHOICES DON'T FUCKING MATTER.
In TWD S1 it was at least disguised pretty well. TWD S2 was where it got really iffy. TWAU was better than TWD S2, but this...
I haven't seen such a blatant disregard for player agency since Mass Effect 3's ending, and at least then you had different options.
No matter WHAT you do, Ironrath falls. it doesn't matter if you secured the Glenmore marriage, or had the gold to buy extra pit fighters, or killed Bloodsong, or married that asshole. It doesn't matter how pragmatic you were, whether or not you stopped Andros, or even whether or not you killed Ludd/Gryff (which should destroy the Whitehill army's ability to fight).
It literally only affects whether or not Rodrick/Asher is picked up by Gywn, Duncan, or Royland. And I spared Duncan (he was my traitor) and went along with Gwyn, but then Elissa throws a fit and Duncan disappears.
This was more disappointing than Mass Effect 3's ending in so many ways.
I'm not buying S2, if it comes out. I'm done with Telltale.
For the record, I killed Ludd (and Elissa), then reloaded and tried the ambush. Killed Gryff, and admit that it was more satisfying, but Elissa dies anyway, and killing that random whitehill soldier wasn't nearly as satisfying as killing both would have been. Killing Gryff was nice and the Whitehills are still doomed too (since Ludd has no sons and, without Gwyn, no daughters), but "Your choices matter".

I also don't think S2 of TWD is nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be on these here forums.
I never understood why people treat S2 like it's a giant blight on TWD name
Maybe my standards are so exorbitantly low that I just don't realize how shitty it is
or maybe people just really like over-exaggerating how bad it is. Because this forum makes it sound like it's goddamned horrible and no one liked it at all and it is an absolute disgrace in every sense of the word to both Telltale as a company and TWD as a franchise. But then you got the season sitting nice and high over on the steam store, and the individual episodes and user scores sitting in the low to mid 80s/8.0s over on metacritic, with most of the reviews themselves having positive thoughts on the season as a whole, both critic and user alike
I know I've talked against using review scores to really prove anything, but surely you'd expect to see the numbers in the yellow zone at the very least if S2 was as bad as this forum makes it out to be. But clearly, this doesn't seem to be the case
Oh yeah, also on a lot of playthroughs scattered throughout youtube, there seem to be very few playthroughs with negative opinions towards the game as a whole, and most user comments across these videos are also positive towards the game as well
There's definitely a portion of people that think S2 was ass, but that portion doesn't seem to be the majority from what I've seen across various websites and videos. I'd go as far to say that this portion actually isn't the majority (how shocking)
The people that have said that have probably not played Telltale games prior to season 1 of TWD, for I can name a few past titles much worse. I also don't think S2 of TWD is nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be on these here forums.
Exactly. Its fine for people to not like it or even consider it a disappointment, but for many to claim it as one of the worst things the company ever produced, I just don't see it.

Parts of TWD S2 were quite disappointing, sometimes even cringe worthy, but it was still enjoyable overall and nowhere near the worst game Telltale has ever made, in fact TWD S2 is probably one of the better games they've made in past few years. Its not as good compared to TWD S1 but on its own its a pretty solid experience.
Game of Thrones did briefly decline after Episode 4 - but they really stepped it all up in Episode 6 - this might be their 2nd or 3rd best finale ever.

I can understand S2 being lackluster for people, that much I understand. My post was aimed at the more... vehement posts I've seen around here. People acting like it's the worst thing ever, that it's a legitimate disgrace to TWD as a franchise. I mean hell, Red says it as much in his video "I don't think Season Two was terrible, it had it's moments..." And most reviews come to the same similar conclusion that S2 wasn't as good as S1, or was only a fraction of what S1 was, but I've seen very little that call it an absolute disgrace like some of the comments on here would make it out to be.
I never understood why people treat S2 like it's a giant blight on TWD name
I feel this video does a good job in outlining in just how and why S2 felt flat for people.

I don't know. I don't really agree with IGN's review. Sure, Telltale should've made a little bit better the storytelling in this episode but it was an amazing episode nonetheless. I would give it at least a(n) 8.5/9 out of 10.
I hate how this whole series has gotten so much negativity, I think most people have the opinion of it being the worst Telltale Game which I really think it isn't.
Comments
Ps3. It was the worst thing.
IGN are just idiots who wrongly assign writers to games that aren't in their taste. Idiots...
Pretty sure Tales got great scores except for the usual episode 4 ign hates for some reason

Too much forrester
And you know of this how?
And this is coming from the same group of reviewers who gave the last gen version of Black Ops 3 a higher score than the GOT finale.
I hate how this whole series has gotten so much negativity, I think most people have the opinion of it being the worst Telltale Game which I really think it isn't.

Yes TWD S2 was only made because Telltale did really good on Season 1 and thought they could milk it. But what is it about GoT that people don't like?
Well, I can't speak for everybody, and I could write forever here about what I didn't like, but mainly it was that TellTale's focus was more on shocking deaths than on the political schemes, and then they axed the only POV that actually dealt with said schemes directly. They have reviewers who are more fond of different games such as fps etc that review games like these and give them 6's. Like Beyond 2 Souls.
It is about what i would give the episode
They had great people there, of course they may have left though XD

It's my second favorite personally.
Because that makes sense to compare reviews of two completely games from two completely genres.
The people that have said that have probably not played Telltale games prior to season 1 of TWD, for I can name a few past titles much worse. I also don't think S2 of TWD is nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be on these here forums.

Examples of notable IGN reviewers who do this?

Fucking Telltale.
The only thing Id agree on is that there is a lack of closure, but a 6.7 is ridiculous

One of the only things that would get me to play another Telltale game of this type is if it was Dragon Age related.
Since that's very likely not happening, I'm done with their bullshit.
Shitty endings, meaningless choices, massive delays, uneven release schedules...It's not worth it anyway.
I don't always agree with IGN, but I think they even gave it too much this time.
I can understand S2 being lackluster for people, that much I understand. My post was aimed at the more... vehement posts I've seen around here. It's actually my favorite Telltale game to be honest. I don't really think it's the worst.
Even if TWAU is my least favorite Telltale game, I have to say TWD S2 is the weakest (worst for me is a too strong word) Telltale game :P
Are you fucking serious
You're telling me this shit got a higher score than a 6?
enter link description here
In all honesty though, that comparison video is great. That van at the end.
This reviewer always just seems to rate the episode lower if the characters dont do what he thinks the should,
