  • If he's not where you sent him, Dogmeat is usually at the Red Rocket Truck Stop. If not there either, try the next main quest, he might turn up all of a sudden, that's how I found Nick Valentine after I misplaced him on the Prydwen.

  • You misplaced a Synth in the Brotherhood HQ? You're lucky they didn't reduce poor Nick to slag.

  • One of my guards just shot up Sanctuary!

I was scrapping weapons when I heard the sounds of gunfire. I ran over, thinking it was raiders, but instead I found three of my settlers sprawled out on the ground and my gate guard firing away with the .44 I gave him. Thankfully, he ran out of bullets and Codsworth sawed his head off.

I searched his body and found SYNTH COMPONENTS!

So now, there's a pile of corpse in my is quaint little town and happiness has dropped 10%. DAMN YOU INSTITUTE!

  • Nick:Well shit

  • Ikr... I was worried there for a moment, but fortunately Nick has plot armor.

    Finally back to Fallout

  • A pro tip:

When you send a companion somewhere and can't find them there (but you're sure you sent them to that location) build and use the bell. Everyone in the settlement will gather 'round, and it's much easier to spot who you're looking for.

  • That's a thing?? I wonder if you trade with them if the component shows up in their window. . .

  • Yeah, this is the first time it's happened to me and I've been playing since launch.

The component only shows up on their corpse. If I'd seen it, I would've been leery about giving them a weapon and chest plate.

I just installed the bell and it works great, thanks.

Hooked on this game already, its been eating up my whole day.

  • Ah yes, half of my settlers are synths but I can't kill them without everyone getting pissed so they just hang. I'm cool with it if they don't start trouble.

I usually send the synths out as scavengers and provisioners.

  • How could you tell. Does it show up on the trade screen? If so, maybe I just got sloppy.

  • The named ones in Sanctuary can't, but the rest can and will die.

Two days ago, a big settlement of mine got attacked and I didn't notice. All ten settlers (and a chill Mr. Handy named Professor Goodfeels) got wiped out.

  • Quick question, is the quest when you actually infiltrate the Institute is when you pick a side?

  • Somewhat after that. You get to wander around and talk to a bunch of people first.

The Battle of Bunker Hill is when you choose a side.

Murdering raiders as this comes on the radio, I feel like the Sole Survivor is losing their goddamned mind tbh.

  • @BigBlindMax

The awareness perk tells you. If a settler has an unusually high energy resistance without any clothes with that energy resistance then they're a synth.

Playing through New Vegas at the moment. I bought the Ultimate Edition for the add-ons. Recently, I went to the abandoned Brotherhood of Steel bunker, and entered the thing to start Dead Money add-on, heedless of the warning (Recommended for level 20, i think; I was at 19). I thought it was all going to be rather chill. Alas, after a few feet, I had that rug pulled from under my feet. I have yet to start it proper, but between the ominous atmosphere and Elijah's "encouragement" and "advice", I am fearful to continue.

  • Oh boy, you're in for it now. Dead Money is pure survival horror.

  • I get that feeling with "Dear Hearts and Gentle People". Pure musical dissonance when you're turning raiders into human salsa.

  • I will find it eventually, i'm been trying to find all the magazines. Right now i'm looking for better suits of Power Armor, robots i can steal and send to sanctuary etc.

It's right on the edge, if that helps you find it.

  • Sanctuary hills has 20 people at 90 happiness or so, i don't think its possible to get any higher because i am playing on the PS4 version, and i think sometimes settlements will bug happiness. I sometimes zone in a settlement its resources will be set to zero, until i go to workshop mode. Then it fixes itself.

I don't like that Bethestia put limits on settlements. Also i think all workshops should share resources. IT's a bitch trying to keep more than one settlement alive. Also they needed easier ways to harvest wood. The only way i know to get it, is to buy some from Moe at diamond city. I'm still trying to build up that one settlement that, Preston sends you on at the beginning of the game.

Hell yeah, I remember that. Vault 11. The story was so good on that one. By the way, where is your settlement? I'm still trying to get Sanctuary to 80% happiness.

I just got to the part where i found out about Kellogg. So Nick gets this idea to use dogmeat, my question how the heck does Nick know about Dogmeat. He must be a celebrity german shepard. I laughed my butt off at that part.

  • So how are your guys favorite companion? Mine is Cait at the moment because she actually doesn't mind when I ask for money or steal things. Still I haven't ran into Nick or Hancock yet, but I hear they are really cool

  • Probably MacCready. I went to Goodneighbor with the express purpose of shooting him in the face, for making me suffer his bullshit in Fallout 3.

Turns out, he's actually a likeable, well-developed character, now that he's a mungo.

  • Turns out I can pacify synths with my charisma. Apparently, all you need is a pistol and commanding voice to make a robo death-machines throw their hands up in surrender and sheepishly wait to be executed.

  • I need to take that perk, sounds hot useful.
