another series to not get excited about...can someone tell me if there is anything to look forward to at all? Currently there is only the Mi… morechonne stuff and my interest is very mild to say the least...then there is minecraft which is crap and batman which doesn't interest me at all. Is 2016 a year I will not have to bother coming back to Telltale at all?
Not saying I only play M rated games, just not children's games such as minecraft. I don't consider batman childish but I am not interested in the franchise at all.
I heard that the license is quite strict about it too. I mean in general when they license Batman and related things to people.
Comic batman used to be way more brutal propaganda spouting fellow who's favorite past time is to read newspaper while smoking his pipe. He also used to shoot.
Early Batman actually saw things like killing "monsters" by hanging as justified but unfortunate that it can't be somehow avoided.
Batman's rule to not kill came much later on in the series. He employs potentially lethal things like rockets etc but he has gone so far as to prevent his own systems to firing them at the people.
I stumbled across this interview with Telltale's co-founder Dan Connors in 2010, talking about Back to the Future and Jurassic Park. It's quite interesting seeing him talking about Hollywood level negotiations being new to Telltale, and five years later they've negotiated rights to the some of the biggest properties in Hollywood right now, with Marvel and Batman.
This was also cool to see, considering this was all the way back in 2010.
Where would you like to be by 2016?
It’s interesting because the games industry has always been this way, and this excites me, that you can have a hand in driving where it goes. If you have the guts to be a pioneer who people will follow then you can shape the future if you can stay ahead of it and deliver user experiences that work. I think for 2016 we see ourselves as being much bigger, being a legitimate digital publisher, if the word “digital” even needs to come up by then because it will likely be the standard, and that we’ll own a piece of the market that plays games in the living room or on buses or planes with whatever devices they decide to play on. Telltale Games will be on those devices. Eventually we want to drive the games that are played on the Holodeck when they invent that.

I think he just wanted to be the first person to make a thread in the empty Batman forum before the Batman threads from Telltale Talk were moved over. :P
If you mean for Michonne and/or Season 3, we already have those!
If you mean for Batman, I think it's a little ways off. As of 2013 or so, new series announced towards the end of the year typically premiere towards the end of the next year.

I was actually thinking Game of Thrones Season 2 might be the series that premieres earlier than we thought, since Season 1's story ends on a note that leads more directly into a Season 2 that would benefit from being continued sooner than later.
If Batman was coming as soon as Michonne ends, I would think we would have more to see about the game at this point, kinda like how Tales from the Borderlands got a teaser trailer that was animated instead of just showing us a game logo. They've even said the game is currently untitled, so I wouldn't count on it coming that soon since Michonne is also supposed to go by quickly with a tight schedule.

you realise that the 'no kill rule' was just a hackneyed reason for DC to allow their villains to keep returning? If Batman existed in real life, do you really think he'd left villains like the Joker live? If Tell tale are only doing a few seasons in their own universe, then Batman could kill. In fact, deciding whether you want to follow the 'no kill' rule could be a interesting choice throughout the season, especially in a series completely based on choice.
Comments
that was poetic
Let's hope they do a Naruto game huh?
It will probaly be the first Telltale game I buy(I watch silent playthroughs on youtube)
Then you shouldn't bother to come back to Telltale in 2016. ^^
Coming up with determinant deaths is going to be much harder. Since Batman doesn't kill.

Who says there has to be determinant deaths?
This news made my day!
(And yes i just found out just now, i know im late)

Haha true... I guess this can be a spiritual successor, since Bigby is basically Batman! Right...?
Time to get ready to use my...
...BAT CREDIT CARD
Oh boy was that a crappy era to be a Batman fan.Killed the franchise for a decade.
Since The Walking Dead, every Telltale game has determinant deaths.
Yeah but it's not like have to put them in.

I love Nostalgia Critic so much.
Thread: Batman?
Could it be...?
Looks like the Batman forum is here.
ayyyyy
Could it be what?
Yup, and it's looking spiffy!
The start of a new era here we go
The Walking Dead forum also moved up a few slots, but it is still below Minecraft: Story Mode's forum though.

Wise words
Yeah, it's strange to see so few threads in a sub forum.
Hey, you find out sooner or later.
(And when you do it's AWESOOOME!)

I'd take this over Minecraft any day
Then what choice would you expect?
Yep. Time to prepare ourselves for an awesome series coming in 2016!
So technically, you only play games with mature content?
For that Itaku anime fan girl. Yeah.
Tbvh, I would also like a Naruto game
I really hope we get bat nipples and credit card.

If you care only about deaths, then go play CS or CoD.
Oh my GOD
I'm so hyped for this, so awesome
