Would you wish a horror game made by Telltale?

Would you wish Telltale to plan to make a horror game? First game to have multiple jumpscares.

  • I would without the slightest doubt! Sure The Walking Dead might have zombies in it but to me those games are as much horror as Peter Jackson´s modus operandi when talking about gore, Braindead aka. Dead Alive. I still wish TT would make an honest adaptation of maybe the best horror movie ever made, The Evil Dead.

But only as long as it completly ignores the sequels!

  • Not really a fan of horror myself but,a Telltale Silent Hill game would be epic.

  • I second this.

  • How about Telltale's Amnesia?

  • It definitely could be awesome. And after the success of Until Dawn, the possibility for it to happen has probably increased.

Honestly, I'm not usually a fan of horror games, but the idea of one where my choices affect who lives and who dies is pretty damn cool.

  • Yes, Until Dawn was a successful horror based choice game.

Depends on the "horror" we're talking, as the Walking Dead is essentially a horror game, just not hardcore. Personally, I think it would be awesome if TellTale did a hardcore horror game - it'd add more to their collection and I think, without a doubt, they can pull it off.

  • ok so Hard Core as in a haunted house, ghost town, a virus or somewhere trapped isolated?

  • Hardcore as in psychological horror, such as something akin to Silent Hill. A haunted house, virus or ghost town sounds similar to the Walking Dead, but I wouldn't mind seeing that either.

  • ahh right ok but if the decieded to do a silent hill game would have make game file really big. silent hill games are all about exploring a town with little sight, finding lots of clues to solve puzzles and defeat a lot of boss battles. basically you need to tell a story ok here is you character, they get stuck in this place and its haunted because of this reason. you would need a lot of back story and clues to make progress. because a lot of stuff happens in a sillient hill game it would be a break it down in a hour and half episode. that's all I am saying

  • I highly doubt TT would ever do Silent Hill and I don't know if I'd want them to. More or less, something akin to it. Think Until Dawn and the more recent Oxenfree.

  • I can see it now:

"Endless nights at freddy's: A telltale game series".

    Reactions: "Is this a joke?!"

  • you didn't like until dawn? :(

  • No, I've never played it and I don't have an opinion. I said I wouldn't mind if TT made something similar.

    you didn't like until dawn?

  • Quite easily. Supermassive Games made something similar with Until Dawn. The potential is there.

  • Not exactly. I mean there are no jumpscares or moments which makes you shake your body. The only jumpscare I know is the walker in the car near the train in Season 1 Episode 3

  • Um, Silent Hill? Leatherface? One with zombies who can run? Too many lol

  • zombies that can run ok how about a series on a movie called "28 days latter", or "world war z", "resident evil". Silent hill would be cool and its a horror series for sure but the enemies don't run after you

  • It would be quite cool otherwise if they could do something that no one else has ever done before, a point and click supernatural horror game based on Dario Argento´s Suspiria/Inferno. :)

  • Well, people certainly thought Minecraft was a joke.

My soulmate! I think TT should have a look at Takashi Miike´s Audition aswell so they might would be able to combine a manga based horror game like you said with Audition.

With a soundtrack like this, I think it would do the trick even better!

  • I like Junji Ito's work, he really pulls off disturbing graphic imagery with such excruciating detail whenever we know something bad is going to happen.

Wonder if another game project involving his work is possible in the future, especially since it was rumored that he was going to be involved in Silent Hills before it was cancelled.

  • Not with their current shitty engine all too tooney for a serious horror game. TWD works but its not a harrowing horror tale by any mean.

  • Jumpscares are ofcourse needed, or else it wouldn't be a horror game!

  • How about otherwise, a game adaptation of Battle Royale? :P That sure is something I have been missing for some time now!

  • jump scares are bullsh*t, if a horror game or film relies on jump scares to be "scarey" it lacks substance, horror is supposed to be psychologically scary not just make loud noises and fast movement that trigger your lizard brain instincts to make you react.

the walking dead had enough jump scares for it not to become a crutch, asking for more is like asking for lower quality horror.

  • HORROR HORROR HORROR GIMME HORROOOOOOR! T_T

  • this would be even scarier if it was a video game or an anime

what's the name of the manga tho?

  • I wouldn´t say so, I think their tooney style has a lot of charm and it sure worked with The Walking Dead. Would it really be fun with a Argento based horror game being as bright as Crysis 3?

  • "Predictable jump scare is predictable."

  • Thanks for the free nightmares! It is stuff like these that makes me stop reading horror manga. These kind of arts tend to burned into my brain and haunt my sleeps.
