I really liked Minecraft: Story Mode for blending classic Telltale with modern Telltale and for trying new things. I was debating about where to put it on my list. When I'm not sure, I think about whether I'll play it again in the future, and I definitely will, but probably not as often as Wallace and Gromit (since the game is so much like Wallace & Gromit shorts, it's fun to replay them). It was tough deciding between Tales from the Borderlands and Minecraft: Story Mode for the number two spot, but in the end I'll probably play Minecraft: Story Mode more because the direct control fighting is a lot of fun.
Oh, and I still haven't finished Game of Thrones yet. I liked episode 3 a lot more than episode 2 though. Once I do finish it, I'll update my list again accordingly.

Many People who have GoT up on the List, don't like TftBL. And many People who have TftBL high in the List don't like GoT. rivalry much? Just an assumption. But i don't believe anyone, who gave either of them a 1-3/10.
Well believe me, i wasted my money i played like 2 episodes, it was decent while playing as the woman protagonist, but still most of the time the story didnt make any sense to me.
But oh man that guy, when i played as him i felt like just pushing the off button on my pc, i hated that dude so damn much

What, all four of them? I think most of them--myself included--are just acting out their frustrations over how overrated Tales is...and how its fanbase (which feels like the entire forum) enjoys hating on Game of Thrones for, usually, undisclosed reasons.

I really did have to put that in bold. I am a Rhyiona shipper, but for too long have I seen Tales get all the praise and GoT get utterly and… more completely shit on, it's time to stand up, and give Game of Thrones the praise it deserves.
You are hurting my brain because I just cannot understand your logic.
Those are exactly my thoughts when somebody says Tales is a better and more complex game than Thrones.
I really dont get all the hype for this game, the male protagonist i forgot his name, is really annoying i just wanna punch him xd.
When i see that face lol, also, the settings and surroundings in the story are really weird.
Im not a got fan, i never even seen the show before playing this game, and i still liked it.
And besides that i could still get what the point of the story was, not so much for TFTB....
Oh Yeah. Exactly what i wanted! Muhaha! They don't Hate it for no reason. They hate it, Because it was a mess on a technical standpoint. I was ugly As fuck. And it had the worst use of Drama i've ever encountered. The Game is ACTIVELY against you. All the Time. Which Results in Complete loss of interest in the characters. And the Ending was Pretty shitty. And the Choices mattered Even less than in TftBL.

Tales vs Thrones is a stupid conflict that none of us need in our lives. People have the right to hate something that they don't like and we have to respect that hate even when their reasons don't seem credible to us. We can't force anyone to like something they don't like.

I don't think the hate that GOT gets is undisclosed, people have clearly stated their reasons for not liking it, whether it was the traitor scene, the ending that expects you to play the sequel in order to finish the story, or its over reliance on show characters like Ramsay Snow. That being said, I enjoyed the game, I thought it was good, and this is coming from someone who hates pretty much anything GOT related. The characters were well written, choices had some great impact, especially in Episode 6, and it does capture one of the aspects that I do like about Game of Thrones, and that's that not every story does have a happy ending, the good people may die and the bad get their way, and anyone can die along the way. So don't throw every Borderlands fan under the bus, yeah I prefer Tales, but I also like Thrones as well.

May I ask what you hated so much about Rhys, he's honestly one of my favorite Telltale protagonists and has one of the best story arcs and development of any character.

Well, I don't know what you were playing, or what on. I had it on Steam, it looked wonderful, and ran wonderful. I never had any problems with it. And I've been on the GoT forums religiously since Episode 1 released, and I've hardly heard of anything of that nature really occurring, so hardly a real, biting issue.
And it had the worst use of Drama i've ever encountered. The Game is ACTIVELY against you. All the Time.
How, exactly? I guess you're referring to the fact the Forrester's are constantly having a hard time of it? Well, yeah, they have no soldiers or wealth, and their oldest rivals are living under their roof... what'd you expect?
Which Results in Complete loss of interest in the characters.
I never lost any interest in the characters in Game of Thrones--I did, in Borderlands, however.
And the Ending was Pretty shitty.
Subjective. I thought it was satisfying - as do most of the people I've encountered on the GoT forum. At least there were multiple endings - unlike Borderlands that has just one... which is even more of a cliffhanger than Got's, not that anyone dares complain in that instance.
And the Choices mattered Even less than in TftBL.
Well, that's nonsense. Everyone always says this, then I ask them for specific examples, they run off into a hole. For start, Tales' biggest decision--to rule Hyperion or not--really mattered as much as the two brothers choice in GoT. Sarcasm.

But is its Story better? Yeah, But Thats just my opinion.
But what makes the story better? That's what I never got. And most of the people I've seen who prefer Borderlands to Game of Thrones rarely give any valid nor well thought out reasons.
And the Ending didn't suck.
Are you implying Game of Thrones' ending did suck? looks that way. But why did it suck? I never understand when people say that. I think Thrones has a way better ending, in my opinion, because there are so many variations. As many other people have stated before. And when they use that same mindless excuse for an argument as to why, they say "You lose no matter what so therefore it's a bad ending." Wait? what!? In Tales' ending you pretty much win no matter what! how is that any better? Also, Tales' ending only has one variation, ONE. While Thrones has about ten, TEN.
I Feel the Same!
You really confused me with that, hence why I liked your comment, because you were replying directly to me, putting that statement first, implying you feel the same. I really wish you could un-like comments on this forum, in a case of misunderstanding, such as this one.
I Feel the Same! When someone says that GoT is better than TftBL. TftBL is Objectively better Crafted, But is its Story better? Yeah, But Thats just my opinion. And the Ending didn't suck.
Because Telltale signed a multi year deal with HBO, while Tales only had a one year deal with Gearbox, it really doesn't have anything to do with which one was better? If Telltale could, Tales would get a season 2 in a heartbeat.
May I ask what you hated so much about Rhys, he's honestly one of my favorite Telltale protagonists and has one of the best story arcs and development of any character.
Don't you dare use that Card on me!
Truth hurts, don't it?
But it certainly Shows, that quality has nothing to Do with success.
Or it shows the exact opposite.
Selfish, how so? Maybe to people like Fiona and Sasha, but that's because he only views them as Pandorans at first, as the series continues, he opens up to them a lot more and he becomes closer and more friendly to both of them, looking at them as friends rather than just Pandorans. He was never selfish to Vaughn, he always looked out for him, was by his side trying to help him, thanked him for helping him get to where he was, etc, that doesn't sound selfish to me, he sounds grateful and appreciative of his support. What was odd about his humor, it fits his character, and this is something that someone from Telltale said, Rhys is internally cool, but externally lame, and as a result, he gets in over his head when he gets to Pandora. A perfect example is in the first episode, when they are trying to get into the Atlas base to get the $10 million back, he comes up with this crazy, convoluted plan to get inside, but in reality, it was as simple as just opening the hatch and sneaking inside.

They made a Video about the end And how all the Voice actors got Interviewed And how much fun they had Doing it.
Yes i actually Hate the Ending. An Ending where you always Win is more satisfiying than an Ending, where you always lose. I'd rather have 1 Ending, which felt Complete Then 10 endings, where i have to Pay another 20-25$ to See the Complete outcome. As I said in a previous comment, GOT does get some necessary criticism, it does have a lot of flaws to it, such as the traitor scene in Episode 5, the ending that leaves a lot of loose ends and expects you to play the next season, leaving a lack of closure, and the overuse of show characters that bog down the plot, like Ramsay Snow. It isn't blind hatred, those are all legitimate problems that the game suffers from. Is it still a good game, yes, did I get enjoyment out of it, yes, is it perfect, no.
Well you know sometimes, when you just meet a person you just really dont like them.
Even if you dont know them, i think the same goes for characters in a game, and for me ray is just that sort of character.

I never said it was perfect, but I'm new to these forums, and all I ever see is huge, HUGE amounts of negativity for the game; people pick it apart for every little thing... meanwhile, Tales can do no wrong. Everyone see's it as perfect. Which I think everyone can agree upon is pretty unfair and untrue, no matter how you feel about the two titles. To promote the idea one is perfect, while the other is complete trash.

Once again, I never said it was perfect, but anybody who believes GoT sucks, and Tales, meanwhile, is 10/10 (which apparently is everyone) that's quite scary, from where I'm sitting.

You can't hate a person if you don't take the time to even get to know them, people do this all the time in life, and it's such a fucking dumb and petty reason to not like someone, just because you see them and think "Oh yeah, he's an asshole for sure." That's judging a book by its cover, there's always more to someone other than just how they look. You can't just look at someone and think you know everything there is to know about them and use that as an excuse to not get to know them.
Yes, RHYS does act a bit smug in the beginning, but again, as the game progresses, he looses that smugness, which came from spending so much time up on Helios, working for Hyperion, believing every ounce of propaganda that Jack and Hyperion spewed. As the series goes on, and he spends more time, not only around people like Fiona and Sasha, but around Jack's AI, he looses it, he begins to look at this at a new perspective, that Hyperion and Jack were not right about Pandora, there's a lot more to it than just what it looks like, and he sees that after spending so much time on the planet and seeing it for himself.

Because TftBLs Story was closed. Do you saw the Media outrage Because of The Walking Dead Season 6 Finale? So you're saying that only the characters in Tales are able to do that? no way, because somehow I happened to have that same experience with characters in Thrones! Crazy, I know.
The Game gave us Moments of Victory, so it didn't felt like, ist would play against us all the time.
Again, the same thing happened in Thrones, Game of Thrones was a lot of defeat, that is true, but look at the situation of the story compared to Tales: A noble house struggles to survive while being tormented by their oldest enemies, I wouldn't really expect many victories in there. But, Thrones HAS given a few moments of victory. Like for example: Having two chances to humiliate Gryff. There are also many other victories in the game, small and large, if you actually pay attention.
And it's a better Illusion of Choices, If you always win, Then If you always lose.
How so? from what I've gathered, what you're saying is that you could make all the good choices in Game of Thrones, and still lose the whole thing no matter what. So you're saying making all bad choices and still winning, while being falsely rewarded, is better than the former?

Maybe that's because the Forrester's were in an unwinnable position? Still, nobody complains that you win no matter what in Borderlands, so I don't see why it's okay for them to whinge non-stop about how you lose no matter what in GoT. Either way, you're being railroaded. As has been said, at least GoT has different endings to mitigate this.
2.Well Thats probably subjective. But why did you lose interest?
Because Borderlands, in my opinion, had some funny characters--certainly some iconic and popular one's, but the depth just wasn't there. I didn't hate them, I just didn't connect to them all that much.
3.Because TftBLs Story was closed. Do you saw the Media outrage Because of The Walking Dead Season 6 Finale? I haven't seen TWD Finale I will be soon, though, so thank you for not including spoilers. but again, I'm going to have to return to my previous point here; I really fail to see how Rhys and Fiona getting zapped into nothingness after finding the vault is any different than the Forrester brother collapsing into the mud, after the battle.
I actually mean scenes like in Episode 2 which Results in a different opener in Episode 3 And gives you a Nice Bonus Feature If you choose Jack.
But again, I'm not arguing that Borderlands doesn't have a lot of divergence depending on your choices -- it does. I'm just saying, I fail to find a choice in it that matter more than the two-brothers choice, the choice between Royland and Duncan, executing the traitor or not, marrying Morgryn or not, and so forth. It's just on a different level, in my opinion.

YOU HAVE TO DO THE SAME IN BORDERLANDS! My god... facepalm
And GoT all along was going to have a second season, plus it's Telltale's prerogative to do cliffhangers, so what's the problem? I, and many others, still found the ending really satisfying anyway...

At least Rodrik / Asher didn't just get zapped away into oblivion. They both end on cliffhangers, so this argument is pretty flimsy
Not really. Yeah they both end on cliffhangers, but one is far more satisfying than the other. With Tales, it accomplished everything it set out to do, all of the story arcs were wrapped up, all the questions we had going into the final episode were answered, and there weren't any loose ends, leaving the player satisfied with how things went. With Thrones, not so much. Story arcs weren't wrapped up, the ending, while it varies, does feel a bit unsatisfying, and while Tales succeeds as a single season, Thrones needs to 2 seasons to try and wrap everything up. Look at TWD as an example, this game had multiple seasons, but Season 1's story is separate from Season 2, that's because Season 1 accomplished everything it set out to do, the ending left you wanting more and looking forward to the sequel, but still satisfied with how it ended that it can be judged favorably as a single game without needing the second season. You can't do that with Thrones because it requires you to play the next season.

No, of course that wasn't a serious rating of the game, it was meant to get fanboys riled up and angry, and well, it worked! I was looking for a debate and it looks like I got it. I think Tales is a fine game, but nowhere near as story rich or complex as Game of Thrones. The praise Tales gets compared to Thrones does frustrate me so.

People run around and give Game of Thrones insanely low scores all the time, and nobody bats an eye. Someone does it to Tales, and the world has ended. I've kept quiet too many things on this subject that need to be said -- and why not now? Seems a fitting time.

But here's the thing, I don't go around and attacking people who didn't like it, nor do I disrespect their opinion. Yeah, it sucks to see a game you enjoyed get criticism or shit on, but that doesn't give us the right to go around and sink to their level by attacking a game that they enjoy. When presented with the option to be the better man, take it.
At least Rodrik / Asher didn't just get zapped away into oblivion. They both end on cliffhangers, so this argument is pretty flimsy

And mine! I get to marry the man I love, and get some well-earned revenge, along the way...
Oh, what a day!
I Feel the Same! When someone says that GoT is better than TftBL. TftBL is Objectively better Crafted, But is its Story better? Yeah, But Thats just my opinion. And the Ending didn't suck.
"i Really don't get the Hype for this Game" = "I have no idea what im Talking about" Tales Crushed GoT in terms of Ratings. /Tales Fanboyism Off.
And yet only GoT has a Season 2
Don't you dare use that Card on me! But it certainly Shows, that quality has nothing to Do with success.
Wow, what's with this whole Tales vs Thrones rivalry all of a sudden? This place is becoming more hostile than TWD section.
How, exactly? I guess you're referring to the fact the Forrester's are constantly having a hard time of it? Well, yeah, they have no soldiers or wealth, and their oldest rivals are living under their roof... what'd you expect?
I never lost any interest in the characters in Game of Thrones--I did, in Borderlands, however.
Subjective. I thought it was satisfying - as do most of the people I've encountered on the GoT forum. At least there were multiple endings - unlike Borderlands that has just one... which is even more of a cliffhanger than Got's, not that anyone dares complain in that instance.
Well, that's nonsense. Everyone always says this, then I ask them for specific examples, they run off into a hole. For start, Tales' biggest decision--to rule Hyperion or not--really mattered as much as the two brothers choice in GoT. Sarcasm.
But what makes the story better? That's what I never got. And most of the people I've seen who prefer Borderlands to Game of Thrones rarely give any valid nor well thought out reasons.
You really confused me with that, hence why I liked your comment, because you were replying directly to me, putting that statement first, implying you feel the same. I really wish you could un-like comments on this forum, in a case of misunderstanding, such as this one.
People are bored of the constant hate GoT gets from every angle... usually unjustly, too.
Because Telltale signed a multi year deal with HBO, while Tales only had a one year deal with Gearbox, it really doesn't have anything to do with which one was better? If Telltale could, Tales would get a season 2 in a heartbeat.
I think i might have embraced it. It was suppose to Be a Little Joke. Oh dear...
Truth hurts, don't it?
Or it shows the exact opposite.
I dont actually really know myself, but he seemed really selfish to me, his humor was really weird in my opinon.
And i couldn't stand his smug face.
You Do realize, that GoT sold more than TftBL, yes? If so, Then you're Right.
Because it was more diversive. It had characters, that i liked who turned into assholes, And assholes who turned into people that i liked. The Game gave us Moments of Victory, so it didn't felt like, ist would play against us all the time. Characters developed on a reasonable pace. GoT may have the better Plot, But TftBLs Story is just better Crafted. They Took their Time to Produce a completely New Intro for every Episode.
And it's a better Illusion of Choices, If you always win, Then If you always lose.
this is how i get Most of my likes. I confuse People.
I dont like the way he talks, i hate the way he carrries himself.
So i just quit playing this game after a few episodes, so i dont know what your talking about xd
At least Rodrik / Asher didn't just get zapped away into oblivion. They both end on cliffhangers, so this argument is pretty flimsy.. if anything it leans in Got's favour, as Got has different endings, at least.
1 Well, i played on Consoles. But TftBL ran much smoother
no, i mean, that None of my Choices is an actual "Win" for the forresters.
Well Thats probably subjective. But why did you lose interest?
Because TftBLs Story was closed. Do you saw the Media outrage Because of The Walking Dead Season 6 Finale? If Not, than let ne Tell you (no Spoilers): it ended on a cliffhanger, without Closing the current Story arc. It's like they just ended a scene way to early. A cliffhanger should always end an arc And Start a New One which Results in a cliffhanger.
who ever told you, that THIS Decision us the Most Important One is lying. I actually mean scenes like in Episode 2 which Results in a different opener in Episode 3 And gives you a Nice Bonus Feature If you choose Jack.
I didnt want to get to know him, cause hes a video game character that i didnt like from the start.
Not a real person...
So because the COMMUNITY praises the game, you take it out on the GAME?
Not If you have to Buy a Complete New Season to See the real Ending.
So you're saying that only the characters in Tales are able to do that? no way, because somehow I happened to have that same experience with characters in Thrones! Crazy, I know.
How so? from what I've gathered, what you're saying is that you could make all the good choices in Game of Thrones, and still lose the whole thing no matter what.
Because Borderlands, in my opinion, had some funny characters--certainly some iconic and popular one's, but the depth just wasn't there. I didn't hate them, I just didn't connect to them all that much.
It's just on a different level, in my opinion.
...the fans, not the game. And it's just a bit of revenge, a taste of their own medicine. It's not personal.
YOU HAVE TO DO THE SAME IN BORDERLANDS! My god... facepalm
And GoT all along was going to have a second season, plus it's Telltale's prerogative to do cliffhangers, so what's the problem? I, and many others, still found the ending really satisfying anyway...
Replace Tales with TWD S1 and that's how I feel whenever someone talks about Season 2.
In the eyes of the beholder.
