In reviewing the new comments on here, I noticed that somebody reference to few of George Carlin's videos.
While I must admit I did found George Carlin to be funny and many respects, I personally do not care for his views on God or religion. In some respects, I found his comments on God to be offensive.
George Carlin was clearly an atheist. And while I respect the atheist viewpoint, there is one thing that has always puzzled me?
Atheist claim that they do not believe in God, which is fine. But as soon as someone mentions God in any way, shape, or form, that person automatically gets offended.
And what I don't understand is if atheists don't even believe God is real, then how can God, or even the very mention of God be offensive to them?

Not sure about good ol' George but offended isn't the word I would use. Irritated is more like it. Like when a child is cured of cancer and some halfwit gets on TV and thanks God. Heyo, your God didn't give two shites until the Doc stepped in.

I believe in God, but I believe that he and Jesus are two separate persons. I believe that Jesus was sent to earth by God, as he often refer… morered to God as "The one who sent me."
And based on my first two beliefs, they leads me to believe that when Jesus said: "The father and I are one", he meant it as they are one in agreement.
Because there was no christ, no allah, no invisible man in the sky. Some people are using other naive people to make money, to control their life from birth to death, scare with hell and promise paradise, sent them to kill dissenters. Bible, quran, all "holy books" makes no sense. They are fables, only brutal ones. It took us Europeans centuries to weaken church influences but there is new danger. Horrible faith that comes with thousands of so called "refugees". Today is not a time to be politically correct because tomorrow you may have no chance to say what you think.
I don't get offended when people talk about God, and I'm an atheist. I simply don't believe God, or any god for that matter, exists. If other people do that's their business. I've had plenty of civil discussion with religious people where we both share our points of view, and then we move on. For me it's no different than any other world view. Some people like rap and hip hop, and I can't help it that they're wrong. Jokes aside, I honestly don't care that people worship their God, or that they believe in them. If you believe in God that's great, more power to you my friend, just don't expect me to as well.
Any time I've ever been offended in a discussion about God with a religious person is when they make assumptions about the quality of my character based on my lack of religious beliefs. I've had many religious people call me out for my lack of belief and tell my I'm going to Hell, or that my lack of faith makes me a bad person. I don't think my lack of faith automatically makes me a bad person.
Since we're on the subject of religion, I have a question that I'd like you to give me an opinion/answer on if you would. If one of the ten commandments is to not put any false idols before god, what does that mean for all of the people that existed before Abrahamic religions existed? Judaism is a lot older than Christianity, but people existed before it still. Does this mean that all of those people go to Hell by default, because no Abrahamic religion existed for them to believe in? Or does God make exceptions for those that came before his religions?

Its because right=dexter and left=sinister so a child using their left hand makes them evil and means they're doing the devils work and a adult beating and screaming at that child, even if its a baby and cant comprehend, is completly justified. (Sarcasm by the way)
Am Christian. Never understood the whole thing with Christians and left-handed people. I'm right-handed, but a friend of mine was raised Catholic, and was yelled at for using her left hand...

Religion as a whole. As a Maori, seeing other Maori people who believe in a Christian God confuses me because our people had no such beliefs until Pakeha came to our country and tried to rob us of our culture, and believing in a Pakeha God means that they succeeded.
Oh and just to put it out there, when I was a child I told my dad, who is a Pakeha, that I didn't believe in God. He told me that he didn't care and that I can believe in whatever I want.

I make them look bad? I lived in country.. somewhere in Europe. There were many "calm and tolerant" atheists like you. What happened? Church took almost everything. Priests are everywhere. No national holiday without them. Nobody argues with that. Atheists are "calm and tolerant". Disappeared. You won't hear free thinkers in tv. It'd be offensive.
If you think religion makes no sense say it loud. Otherwise church bells or screamers from minarets will drown you out. Religions are expansive.

Their business? No atheist is an island. They have to pay like everyone else for more temples, church holidays, celebrations or religion in schools. Pay for something they think is a lie, a con. Clerics can control their lives, tell them what must be forbidden. What non-believer can do? Learn some tolerance and stay quiet. It's not his business. Even when it is.
Time to end this conversation. Subject is broad but personal attacks aren't welcome here. Have a nice day.

In the past world was dangerous and mysterious place. People needed answers. Today their out-of-date answers are still in stock, unfortunately.
I never met God. Different people assured me they know a way to him, that their way is the one. Why God needs helpers? I heard he's almighty. May just simply speak to me. If he cares of course. And exists.

I mean seriously. There's always something or someone. Even when I was battling horrible depression, I didn't believe there was nothing to love. I don't think it ends until life does.

So Jesus is basically the same relationship to God as Muhammed?

Does Pakeha mean European?
I studied Whale Rider in Year 11 English...just saying.

Or maybe just white person.
Those books are told as stories from the beginning.
But does that mean that there is no God though?
Yeah
Idk what this is supposed to mean

Stop acting like a ass then, maybe people won't resort to personal attacks.
I didn't ask you for advice, Lee. I picked silence option.
Okay, Okay, that was a good one.
If you stopped acting like an entitled prick then I wouldn't have a reason to be angry and personally attack you.
But yes this is the end of the conversation, since I'm afraid I'd say some things I'd regret while talking to you.
It will be interesting when I die to see what there is. Will there be the greek gods, the catholic god, Allah, or will there be nothing?
It means nothing i'm just being stupid. A New Zealand movie, has a lot of religious imagery and stuff. My class had to study it in school years ago.
Oh sorry bruh didn't mean to sound like a dick
What did you think of it???
All good you didn't sound like a dick haha, the movie was pretty good. Different but good.
The Cherist belief in life after love.
