So fucking hyped for this. Absolutely cannot wait to find out more about BF1 and see gameplay of it.
I'm really glad thw Ww1 rumors were true. I've been waiting for a WW1 game, and hopefully Dice will stray from the more 'streamlined' recent entries in the series and get back to the franchise's roots.
Press 'F' to pay respects.
To quote many youtube comments,
I need to report this Battlefield 1 trailer for rape offenses.
....For what it did to Infinite Warfare.
I never played a Battlefield game before and haven't played an fps in years but, but I think I may buy this. I'm really interested in the World War 1 setting. COD in space is laughable to me.
Let's not lie to ourselves now. COD is still gonna sell like hotcakes and will probably still out sell battlefield 1. BUT!. I could see this being the beginning of Battlefield slowly overtaking COD.
I'm not sure how i feel about this at the moment, i had lots of fun in Battlefield 2, 2142, 3 and 4 but i am unsure about this one. I was really hoping for a 2142 sequel so they could bring back titan mode but i will find out more about Battlefield 1 before i dismiss it.
Aw, yiss! FINALLY!! BOO-YAAH!!!!! SOMETHING TO BREAK THIS INSUFFERABLE CYCLE OF FUTURISTIC SHOOTERS!!!!!!!!!! AND, IT IS A SHOOTER SET DURING THE FIRST WORLD WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LevelCap has made a pretty good breakdown of the trailer and he also talks about things he saw during the private press event when they launched the trailer.

If anyone wants to skip the trailer breakdown he starts talking about things they didn't show in the trailer from around 9:32.
EA are sly as hell, they heard the COD fans wanted a traditional boots on the ground shooter and they delivered one. No wonder why the Devs for this game were basically mocking the new COD. I wonder how many COD fans will jump ship, this is epic.
I'd say the only reason it will, is because Activision is ransoming COD4 remastered. COD fans will have to buy Infinite Warfare in order to get COD4
I'm about to cry..... why?
I'm a History Buff, and my favorite subjects are the American Civil War, The Great World War and The Second World War.
Mean while I utterly absolutely hate modern warfare so you can see how much it would make me hate 90% of modern shooters which are modern warfare. lol
Though I have a feeling it's going to suck personally for history buffs. They better put some epic Bayonet & C&C fighting in the game to make up for the fact that 99.9% of players should be stuck with bolt action rifles.
I really hope DICE learned their lession from BF4's Launch and Battlefront
Don't worry it will have 2 maps and zero historical accuracy what so ever... and of course neither map will likely look like a WWI battlefield. =3
Yeah, it really bothers me. Besides the Western Front and a few months of the Western Front, it was pretty stagnant.
If the planes have droppable bombs, I'll be slightly disappointed. That was a lot later in the war, and they usually just dropped grenades.
And zeppelins. Are they not like instantly flammable? I'm curious to see what they do with that.
Question is will it be as good as this? Or will it feel like just another crappy action movie?

This reminds me if anyone wants to add me on Xbox it is HU4L J3T. I plan on getting this and could use some Amigos to play with.
I think it will be good, Dice said the campaign will.be historical and the Harlem Hellfighters will be in it.
That is exactly what people said about The Red Tails, but it turned out to be the biggest pile of garbage I've seen in forever. People were ultra hyped up about Star Wars Battlefront as well but the hype went down and ya...
It would of been impressed if they brought some traditional music from that time period into the trailer in stead. hehe Like at the end of this React Video to the trailer. lol

All I know is I'm already bugged by the Red Triplane... only one person ever flew a Red Triplane and it wasn't even "ALL" red all the time. Which is a darn good sign that historical accuracy is going to be out the window, being most Fokker Dr1's were green or brown.
I'm actually quite excited for this, seeing a mainstream shooter getting back to the Worls Wars is absolutely awesome
Cannot WAIT!
Apparently there is going to be more focus put into cqc in this game. What that actually means mechanics-wise I don't know.
Dude...they are not going for complete historical accuracy. In the trailer someone was carrying a MG and not a sung. It looks fun as hell though.
Historical Accuracy shouldn't be mixed up with "Realism." If you want the game to feel immersive you have to get things at least relatively right. You can't just take in short Battlefield and thrown WWI over top of it, which I really hope they didn't do. Weapons need to be authentic, uniforms need to be authentic aircraft need to be authentic, including common paint jobs and such. I'm so scared everyone is going to be running around with a MP18, Thompson, Lewis Gun, and yada yada just so they can have that quick gameplay everyone wants in shooters today... and that is what I think they may end up doing which will ruin it.
I haven't been this hyped for an FPS since Black Ops 1. I'd take it any day over Infinite Warfare.
Imagine that kind of scenes with bf graphics

As a long time Battlefield fan, even tho I do not really play games anymore I am still excited for Battlefield 1. I never thought I would live long enough to see Battlefield crush the CoD so hard. Seeing how Handmeyourwalletvision have spit their own fanbase in the face with locking the MW Remastered behind the 80$ edition, and many players turning their eyes to BF in the aftermath of that, I was excited to realize that even tho BF was superior to CoD for a long time (opinion) it is the first instance when it has a really good chance of beating the CoD sales this year.
Also, I am excited about WW1 as it actually never was explored all that much in the video games when you think about it. WW2 was much more popular probably because of the technological advancements and the fact that it was freshier, but WW1 was kinda skipped for a long time (with a few exceptions of course but still only a few)
It looks sick and with friends at DICE LA were involved in development, than I have faith in a stable release and solid gameplay.
I am also eager to hear the BF1 version of the infamous Battlefield theme, I've got a feeling like it's gonna be badass awesome
I feel that. It is going to be hard to include that without pandering a wider audience with the larger array of weapons and equipment that were either rarely found and only issued certain individuals or units, or simply anachronistic.
It would be awkward to be playing an online game and find the whole of the Luftstreitkräfte is made up of Manfred von Richthofen clones.
I guess it's official. Activision's stance really is "Whatever. People will fucking buy it". Straight from their CEO.
Activision really has worked hard in recent years and it has paid off. I think I now hate them more than any other video game company out there.
I haven't really defended EA before(with the exception that they have saved a couple good companies from disappearing), but while they have remained status quo, Activision has been progressively worse. EA was just the first one to do all the shitty things that are now common. If you compare all the major players today, they really aren't that horrible. I mean is Origin worse than Uplay? Is their DLC model worse than the CoD games? Are they sitting on cult favourite properties more than Disney? They're bad, but I don't think they're the worst at any one thing.
Do you mean all the lame microtransactions they put out? Because I totally agree with you.
Can I add you?
Pretty much all the things I listed, EA was the worst at 5-10 years ago. Micros, DLC models, DRM, Engulfing properties with no intention of use. Now, they're all pretty common unfortunately(shit, now there's a whole video game genre based around micro-transactions). As I stated, I don't believe that today, they are the worst at any one of those things anymore.
Do they still engage in shady practices? Oh yeah. I'm in no way saying they're a good publisher. There's a bunch of triple A companies in that "total control" boat though. I just don't think they should get a free pass just because "EA". Ubisoft and Activision are especially horrid.
It's going to feel like a Battlefield game. They're not going to make it a slow trench fight that rewards camping and strategy. Battlefield and CoD are about running in like a chicken with your head cut off, spraying and praying. It's going to feel just like a Battlefield game, but it's going to have different weapons. More of the same.
Edit: If you want to play some fun shooters with a touch more historical realism, try out Red Orchestra 2 and Verdun. Verdun doesn't have a large population, so that kind of kills it for me, but Red Orchestra 2 has lots of players still.
The prototypes were to be shipped out to France in November 1918, but never left port due to the armistice.
In an interview with the lead developer, he said that the inclusion of the Red Baron in the trailer was just a reference so you don't have to worry about having a bunch of Red Barons flying around.
I really doubt that you have to worry about authenticity either, considering past titles.
Yes of course. I will add you back.
Doesn't mean it will not be in the game.
I think CoD is going to get it's butt kicked by Battlefield 1.
