I felt so bad for the Washington family. I made sure these motherfuckers knew what happens if they play unnecesary pranks on an innocent girl except Sam, Chris and Emily..
But still, he had no reason to lock Josh in the shed.
Josh was a nutcase, locking him outside was perfectly reasonable
If you managed to reach Jess at the time, he still thought she was dead because asshole didn't bother to still go after her when he just saw she was still alive, instead, he went after the killer.
The game didnt allow that branching so he had to continue the same way. Also how was he supposed to go down and find her? Its just like matt with emily, shes alive but matt doesnt reach her. Given that mike just ran after her he obviously cares.
Also, why the hell would he think Josh would be able to pull someone out of a door window like THAT?
Because josh dressed up as a psycho and locked chris and ashley in a death saw machine (im guessing they didnt think he would do that either), he probably thought he was capable of doing that

Hes not a nice person but none of the characters are really. Even sam and chris can do shitty things. He still a decent guy overall like the rest of them they just did some dumb shit. Mike's probably one of the better ones once the chaos starts, apart from the basement scene.
Also this opinion isnt really unpopular, lots of people hate on mike, though I dont see how hes worse than the others.
I dont see how he was more hateable than the others.
And to be honest only Jess and Matt were killable before chapter 8, everyone else could last way after that. I do wish there had been options for them to die earlier but still
I hated that smug piece of shit. Even in his so called character change he was easily the most irritable character in the game. The class A … moredouche who the writers push to be a leader, yeah not having it. The fact that he's only killable at the WAY end of the game just made it seem there was plot armor for him.
No he isnt. Nothing about him shows he likes violence bar him being a bit rough with josh when he thought he killed his girlfriend but even then he doesnt do that much. Josh does ten times that trauma to chris and ashley
He never gave a shit about Josh's sisters.
He seemed to care more than everyone but sam in the flashback, he said sorry straight after and suggested going after them. Fast forward a year and most of the group seems to be avoiding talking about them
He was such an asshole to lock Josh in the shed, he had no good fucking reason to do that
Given what Josh did and mike thinking everything that had happened was due to him I dunno about that
All this shit happened because of Mike
Well that just isnt true, Mike and the others indirectly killed hannah and beth, but they didnt intend for that. The wendingo killed hannah and beth that they had no idea about (not to mention hannah had a pretty extreme reaction running into the woods). Everything a year later was down to josh if anyone, he invited them all up there and split them up. Though again I cant blame josh either given he didnt know about the wendingo either
he doesn't deserve to live.
Okay thats just weird, Mike was mean he doesnt deserve to die for being mean.
Mike is the fucking psychopath. He never gave a shit about Josh's sisters. He was such an asshole to lock Josh in the shed, he had no good fucking reason to do that. All this shit happened because of Mike, he doesn't deserve to live.
He had a disorder because he lost his sister because of Mike and Jess. He wanted revenge but he just got wrong people because of the lame writting. You forgot that he never planned to program the sawblade to go for Ashley instead for his fake body and the ones to go for both Ash and Chris?
locking him outside was perfectly reasonable
No it wasn't. Why not locking him in the lodge where it's safe? Mike was still an asshole to do that.
Also how was he supposed to go down and find her?
You think the elevator Jess was on, was the only way down and were no stairs around? Dumbest design ever.
Given that mike just ran after her he obviously cares.
Yeah and refuse to still reach for her when he just found her still alive but scratched a bit. You say that if your girlfriend fell down with an elevator, you quickly assume she died?
Because josh dressed up as a psycho and locked chris and ashley in a death saw machine (im guessing they didnt think he would do that either), he probably thought he was capable of doing that
Still, how can a person do that, serial killer or not?

So Josh getting the wrong people isn't joshs fault it's the lame writings fault but Mike not immediately grabbing Jess or somehow getting down after her isn't?
The game could have had more branching but at times characters had to do certain things
Also I'm thinking it was a group decision to lock Josh outside, again they had no idea about the danger outside and they wanted him away from them.
IN addition to this Mike is the one to stay outside with Josh to make sure he stays put and doesn't hurt himself or others. He only leaves when Emily screams

So? They were killable prior to the way end were they not? With Mike he's only able to be killed at the very last act of the game. Which means people who disliked him had to suffer until the way end. At least the rest could be killed earlier
I dont see how he was more hateable than the others.

I've covered the shed thing numerous times. It was a group call and they didn't know about the wendingo
Also Josh pranked Chris and Ashley because he was crazy and legit thought they would find it funny. Most people also think he was going to prank the others but started with Chris,Ashley and Sam didn't have chance to get to the others

Ok but I think we're forgetting that this game objective is not to kill people we dislike. Shivers That remembers me of FarFromSubtle's playthrough where he killed Emily on purpose. It was so anti-climatic. They basically had Emily comitt suicide by staring at a lever until the Wendigo killed her (needless to say that i immediatly stopped watching it).
Mike and Sam were vital to the plot, I guess that explains why they can only be killed on the last 30 seconds. I think that's clear enough.
So? They were killable prior to the way end were they not? With Mike he's only able to be killed at the very last act of the game. Which means people who disliked him had to suffer until the way end. At least the rest could be killed earlier
Emily could be killed early chapter 8, Chris mid chapter 8 and ashley late episode 9. You stop playing as mike before ashley and sam. Point i'm making is, its not just a mike issue

Well, that's ok, but I totally don't. You're basically making the characters commit suicide and that takes away the realism of the game. It's like you're making Emily (for example) choose to get killed by the Wendingo. I can't imagine a situation where she would do that so (imho) it becomes ridiculous.

I think they all regretted it after they dissapeared, I think most of them are avoiding talking about it, emily making one comment indirectly doesnt make her more sorry about it
I found chris funny so he was top of my list to save along with mike and sam who I found brave. Emily grew on me a lot over the course of the game and I felt bad for Jess but neither were that important to me. Matt was meh for me alltogether. I hated ashley (and always found her pretty meh also)
He was generic as hell. It seemed like they googled 'generic protagonists' and slammed him in the game because they assumed everyone would lap him up, but they didn't.

Sam is the true protagonist.
He's easily my most disliked character in Until Dawn, even more so than Emily.
* He gets glorified way too much for a central character… more who took part in the prank to the point where he's never truly condemned for it, whereas only Jessica and Emily can die for their own contribution to the prank, with Matt and Ashley falling not too far behind.
* Is shown to possibly cheat on Jessica with Emily and yet only Emily is condemned for her actions by Matt. Writers, a tango takes two, you know.
* Is given plot armor for no justifiable reason until literally at the end of the game.
* Is portrayed as intelligent in his profile card yet commits many idiotic moments that can potentially get himself or his friends killed (the 'Lets leave the safe haven and go get the cable car keys' springs to mind).
* Makes his own decision to point a gun at his ex-girlfriend that he's supposedly going back to over Jessica over a suspected infected bite without … [view original content]

Sam is the true protagonist.
That was kinda the point. The entire game is based off of horror movie cliches, with Mike being the stereotypical jock + ladies' man + action survivor rolled into one. And like Firewallcano said, Sam is arguably just as generic, playing the role of the designated final girl who's both resourceful and kind. (Not that I'm knocking her character.)
Personally, I hated Mike at first too because of how arrogant and unapologetic he was about manipulating Hannah's feelings for him. But he grew on me over the course of the game with all his heroics, as excessive as they were.

Sam is the true protagonist.
Well I think they are all the protagonists apart from maybe Josh, but even he is kinds towards the end.
And to be honest Sam was also fairly dull and standard "final girl" trope, they were all pretty tropey at least to begin with

Oh I get that stuff, but I meant generic more as we've seen that trope a hell of a lot. I'd argue we've seen much more characters like Mike in video gaming than sam; and his characterisation as such wasn't necessary as there are numerous other movie cliches they could have bought into.
In addition, there was nothing saying that the jock character had to be given the most playtime.

Yes I hate Mike not as much as Jess and Emily. Mike I always saw him as a bully. he doesn't care about Hannah's death and is really seen insensitive to everyone else. his time as a playable character was over used and drawn out. the only thing I liked about it was u get to befriend a wolf - not joking that was pretty awesome.

Emily does regret about it if you look at the posters of Hannah and Beth at the Fire Tower, saying she is sorry that they're missing.

There are almost seven bilion people by now the possibility that your're THE only one at anything is basically none existent...

The behind the scenes interviews. It's not explicitly stated, but I think you can tell the actor doesn't really like the character a ton.
Don't get me started on Jessica.
Yes I hate Mike not as much as Jess and Emily. Mike wasnt even the jock character, Matt was. Mike was the hero character who usually dies at the end of most horror movies.
