I'm excited for it..... as long as it doesn't get milked and starts having 40 sequels like the games.
Great trailer, maybe this will be the first good game movie!
Great trailer. But is this based on Assassin's Creed Unity?
The trailer looks good, but it is a very odd choice of music.
Why does most video game trailers have such an oddly chosen music?
Unity was French and wasn't a person taken captive and becoming a prisoner.
I'd say it's like assassins creed 1, except instead of Jerusalem it's located in Spain
I know I said I wanted to see this movie, but this looks like it sucks dick.
Please be good Fassbender!
i wonder if it follows subject 16s story
OH... it looks so cool! I've been an Assassin's creed fan for a long time so I'm definitely excited. I'm hoping it's a completely original story, not based on any characters from the games or books.
I'm a fan of AC games, atleast the games from 2-4, and there's only one thing i have to say about this movie based on this trailer... Its shit.
Its appropriate for it to be launched on Kimmel.
I'm...not gonna watch this.
They make way too many prequels and sequels to those games.
Yeah, too many. Assassin's Creed 1-4 were good enough. I don't see the point of having more sequels/prequels since Desmond died, I hate playing as the protagonists outside the Animus on first person perspective.
The only reason I bought 4 was because I enjoyed playing as a pirate. Other than that, IDK.
Same. Assassin's Creed 4 is the best pirate game of gaming history IMO.
I think it's the only pirate game that ever existed. That's...sad.
Im not that keen on the franchise but the trailer looked okay
That's why many people consider it to be the best AC game.
No Kristen Bell? I am disappoint.
Otherwise, they nailed the look of the game. Cautiously optimistic.
I'm still pissed off that they have completely new characters instead of the characters from the video games. An adaption of ezio's story would work out so well and sell a lot.I watched the trailer around 6 times and I can't say that I liked it. Kayne west with assassin's creed? It just doesn't work.
This guy changed the trailer's song with the assassin's creed 2 theme, "ezio's family". You should still watch the original trailer first because the "we are assassins" line and the leap of faith are missing

What do I want? The movie to be just "average/good" like the first game and an amazing movie sequel around Ezio. I also like the modern day character. I love Desmond but the guy in the movie looks way more complex and interesting.
I have mixed feelings about this. Video games have a hard time being adapted into movies and shows, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt for right now.
Video game movies suck. That is my assessment of this until a reviewer with a similar mindset convinces me otherwise.
This looks really good but Kanye ruined the trailer.
But with a cast like Michael Fassbender, Marion Cottiard, Jeremy Irons and Brendan freaking Gleeson it's hard to go wrong.
Also the director of Macbeth is a good choice.
I truly believe this will be the first good video game movie (though Warcraft may be decent, mainly due to Duncan Jones directing). Especially as they are not directly adapting the game, smart decision in my opinion.
You're in luck. It is an original story, I'm pretty happy about that too.
Thanks for the info, the Macbeth's one was really good, so I'm glad there's the same director.
I'm not really sure how I felt about that trailer, could just be the music choice though.
This is badass. I can't see any possiblites that this will suck.
There is no way they'll be able to cram Ezio's story into 2 hours of screen time. It's for the best that they decided not to adapt an existing assassin from the franchise. Means they can tell an original story with original characters. without fucking up pre-existing ones.
It's gonna suck. Save your money. If no one goes to see these movies maybe they will stop making them.
Why do people keep making movies out of video games?
Eventually they'll get it right, eventually. It only took several decades for them to get really good comic films more than once in a while.
I think people don't like it because it has Assassins Creed in the title and because it's a movie based on a video game.
The trailer didn't interest me, and the music choice was horrible. I'm interested in the movie because of the cast though.
Other than the music, I thought it was good. The setting, costumes and fight scenes closely resemble the games. One thing I hope they don't do I make out the Templars to be evil. If you read the books, quite a few Templar characters do truly believe that they're doing the right thing. Both the Assassins and Templars want peace, but they have drastically different means of doing so. I hope the movie shows that.
The movie has probably 65% modern day + action scenes and 35% historical.
Kinda makes sense when you think about it.
I love Assassin's Creed but this looks incredibly corny. Great choice of actor though...I think he will suit it.
Fassbender has never disappointed me with his performances or movies. One of most favourite actors tbh, with the amount of things he's been in.
^
I wonder if they'll do that one on one conversation as the target dies thing in this movie? It's typically my favorite part about the games. Gives a good look on what the bad guys were thinking.
Also video game movies usually suck, so I'm not getting my hopes up for this one.
I'm fangirling so hard right now
