What kind of accent do you have?

edited May 2016 in General Chat

[Same as title]

Edit: I don't know what mine is.

I know everyone has an accent. The only thing I want to know is what your accent is.

Everyone has an accent, you just think you don't because you know your own voice.
You get used to the sound of your own voice and the people around you so you don't think your voice is accented, it is.
    I'm Aussie btw.

I don't think so. My country has its own accent but I don't live in that region. I mean I might, it's hard to tell till you properly speak to a native English speaker.

    I guess I do?...

I mixture of a Southern, and a West Coast accent.

  • I have an accent but I don't know how to explain it since it's different than most people in my country's accent ._.

  • I've lived in Egypt Scotland russia Newcastle France Portugal and now I'm in Nottingham so it's probably a bit messed up

My accent isn't all that strong, but I speak with a Yorkshire accent from England.

I don't sound like Sean Bean, unfortunately.

  • Australian.

Also, of course you have an accent? Assuming you're not Australian, if I met you, you surely wouldn't sound the same as me.

  • I have a mixed Eastern American-British accent that sounds a bit weird if English is your mother tongue.

  • Have you seen Robin Hood running around? Lol!

  • Australian accents are bloody sexy.

  • Tidewater accent for me. But I was raised by two Floridians, so it's slightly different.

I belong to the Australian Cultivated accent.

EDIT: It sounds somewhere between English recieved pronounciation and the general Australian accent.

  • The ones I can actually understand. I'll never catch some of the slang I swear.

Which one? Or all of them?

  • I'm FORTY FIVE.

I thought it was obvious enough I wouldn't need a sarcasm tag on the bottom. I'm not forty five lmao.

Edit: Also I didn't get a notification for that comment. Weird.

  • The wonderful french accent with your language. But I speak it better than some others french.

  • I have a mild Pennsylvania Dutch accent.

It mostly manifests itself through ending sentences with 'yet' a lot and cutting out 'to be' verbs.

Regular English: The dishes still need to be washed.

Pennsylvania Dutch Accent: The dishes need washed yet.

I don't make these Dutchisms all the time, but they still occasionally slip out.

  • Putin should probably give a free CSGO copy for every newborn in Mother Russia!

  • I don't have one either.

  • By whose standards?

    I don't have one either.

I don't think I have an accent. People say I speak like a guy from the video below.

    A really shitty french accent.

  • Idk which one

Should put this in the OP

And just few lines of dialogue or monologue for people to say then we could hear the accents :)

  • Can't tell. Since I'm kind of emulating American English pronunciation, I'd say it's something along those lines, but with a hint of Russian accent or whatever. Again, I can't tell.

  • Wot? Ya mean tha' pommy shit people speak in Adelaide? Yeah nah, mate, I don't think so. True blue broad accents all the way!

(Joking, if you could not tell on account of it being a poor attempt)

The ones I can actually understand. I'll never catch some of the slang I swear.
