Overwatch Thread
I know I plan on getting it after watching some trailers and playing the beta. It was really fun only thing that I don't like it that it doesn't have a story mode/single player mode. I think the game would be perfect if it had a story mode because of all the lore, but even without it I Still think it will be amazing.
Anyways as the title say anybody else here getting it? If so for what console?

I played the beta and I thought it was meh.
No story and repetitive gameplay, not a AAA game in my opinion. I liked that there was a character called genji, thats my dogs name
Edit: that video made me want a coke my stomach is literally gurgling for one.
I am, if my PC can run it. I don't think it needs a story mode, telling your story through lore videos, comics and other things is good as well.
Yeah true. All I know is I want to see it made into a movie. Those shorts were awesome.
I'd love for them to pump out more of those shorts featuring different characters (like what Valve did with TF2).
They've already announced another one, it's called "Dragons". Obviously it seems focused on Hanzo. It comes out on may 16th.
I believe there will be a fourth one too. Atleast I think they announced that.
If you're so interested in overwatch's lore then here's the newest issue of their comics, it's about Symmetra. There's also a few more if you want to dig. It helps you get to know the characters.

Yes! I played the open beta and couldn't get enough! It's so awesome.
I loved the moment that I realized Genji and Hanzo were brothers.
While we're on the topic of overwatch we should go into our favourite heroes.
Favourite Hero all together?- Widowmaker.
Favourite offensive hero, defensive hero, tank hero, and support hero?
Offense- Genji.
Defence- Widowmaker.
Tank- D.VA
Support- Mercy.
I am actually more interested in watching an Overwatch animation movie than playing it.
I was trying to get into the beta in October and February, I did manage to get into the stress weekend, and obviously the open beta. I already pre-ordered before that and I really cant wait, its probably the most fun Ive had in a game in a long time.

It should be a stipulation that if you plan to have a lore, there should be a story to it as well, cause without a story the lore is almost meaningless.
But anyway, I've seen the cinematic trailer and the characters are appealing in design. Have yet to see the gameplay myself but I plan on getting it someday. Definitely for PS4 cuz my PC lags on Fallout NV and many other PC games. Plus hackers are most prominent on PC.
I tried the open beta. It was fun, but I knew I'd get tired of the game after few days, so I think I'll pass. It's just not worth it to buy it for me.
But if there's (ever) another free weekend, I might join in again.
I'll definitely continue watching the cinematics though, they're great.
Mercy is totally the best support, well, in my opinion. I also really liked D.Va, but I think I liked Zarya a bit more.
Anyways, but favorite character overall shouldn't be too hard to figure out (It's McCree)!

Nah. I'm not really into PC vs PC deathmatch games.
I might do, I've seen some decent gifsets and fanarts which make me interested, along with this lady here

Well you're not gonna find out much about her by playing the game, blizzard is fleshing out their characters and lore through shorts and comics, and she hasn't gotten any yet. Her main story is on the webpage though.
What other things are out right now besides the shorts? I would love to learn more about the characters. I did read the one Junkrat and Roadhog comic I found. but that was it.
There are some pretty interesting interactions in the game that hint at interesting things about characters.
For example there are a few interactions that hint towards Mercy having something to do with Reapers current state.
Not much I'm afraid. There's also Reinhardt and McCree comics.
Well they had to have some minor lore in the game at least. That's pretty cool.
I know it has been announced for awhile but it is cool that post launch content like new heroes and new maps and gameplay modes will be free. Makes me even more excited for the game and I don't even really like online games or shooters.
I'm pretty excited too! I haven't played a good multiplayer game in a while.
Let's ask Telltale to make a story mode for Overwatch. :P
