  • It was confirmed that Nathan Drake is inspired by Indiana Jones, not Lara Croft.

Nathan drake is actually a rippoff of lara croft, seriously young uns today.

  • LOOOOOL

And Tomb Raider is Indiana Jones with boobs.

  • It does look a little bit although I'm planning to play Rise of the Tomb Raider when it comes out for PS4.

Tomb Raider is possibly the most disappointing game I've ever played.

  • But lara was inspired by indie first she was going to have a whip and everything but it was decided it would be too sexual, so she was still the original indie ripoff and Nathan copied her indie copying Indie>lara>nate.

  • So you say that Joel and Ellie from TLOU, are inspired by Lee and Clementine?

  • ^^^^^^ I seventh this.

    Undertale.

  • I agree with all of these.

    * Life is Strange * Undertale * Beyond: Two Souls * Her Story * Far Cry 4

Actually there's story but so far it has been mostly coming as form of Pixar made animations.

Overwatch people were praising ot to high heaven even though it hasnt come out yet. I've played it its boring, the characters are cool but t

  • Speaking of Indiana Jones, did you finish the movies? Not rushing, just wondering.

  • Not yet. Sorry.

  • Well TLOU was announced before TWD S1 even started, and it had already been in development since 2009.

Until Dawn - Good game, but people praise it because their choices matter...and those same people shit on Telltale because choices don't matter. Until Dawn had one ending with several different outcomes. So did Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands. I don't see the logic.

You should keep in mind that while GoT has 9 different outcomes Until Dawn has (grabs calculator) 128 (not counting with Josh's fate). I think there's a biiiiiiiig difference between the two. (And Tales had 1 ending lmao).

Oh and Thrones only really started to tailor in Episode 6 while until dawn has determinant scenes through the whole game.

Finally, in Until Dawn you can Lose (by killing everyone) or Win (by saving everyone). In GoT you lose or you lose.

Sorry, in terms of choices mattering they're not even comparable.

EDIT: My bad, there are 5040 different Until Dawn endings.

  • How in the world? How were they making The Last of Us and Uncharted 3 at the same time?

  • Telltale can work on several projects with ~350 people. Naughty Dog has more, and (with no offense meant to any Telltale staff) probably more qualified, staff. They are also funded by Sony. I don't see how them working on two games at a time seems unbelievable.

They split the team into 2, so they could work on 2 games at once. If I'm not mistaken, a lot of the team members who worked on Uncharted 2 were the ones that worked on TLOU, for example, Neil Druckmann co-wrote Uncharted 2 and went on to be the writer of TLOU and is now the lead co-witer of UC4, after Amy Hennig left ND (she was the lead writer of the first 3, and previously worked on games such as the Legacy of Kain series, and was initially writing UC4).

  • I wonder how many employees Naughty Dog currently has. Wikipedia says ~300, but Linkedin says 201 to 500. If it's the former, they would be smaller than TT currently is, but their games have a far bigger development and marketing budget.

  • I don't remember anyone saying that ME1 is the best

Until Dawn - Good game, but people praise it because their choices matter...and those same people shit on Telltale because choices don't mat

  • Firewatch- I just don't see how that game is fun or anything. All you do is walk, walk and have these Boring conversations with some lady over the radio. Like seriously, how is that worth 9/10 scores or any high scores for that matter?

  • People don't "pretend" to like ME1, ME1 appealed more to RPG fans because the sequels ditched half of the RPG elements, also ME1s combat was more sophisticated and fun. ME2 is still my favorite but the first game holds a special place in my heart.

Until Dawn - Good game, but people praise it because their choices matter...and those same people shit on Telltale because choices don't mat

  • I thought ME had the best story of the 3. The game was also made back when Bioware was still PC focused. The RPG elements and controls are very awkward on console because of that. The graphics are a bit dated even for the time. Plus it's one of those games where the aliasing and texture solution involved vasoline resolution. I can't really complain about that as the PC port of GTA:Vice City was left crisp and would be much more playable if they did the same. Mass Effect still has one of the better surprise endings if you leveled up enough(admittedly, the scene should have been a bit longer). I still like it, I still play it. I prefer the PC edition as there are mods to help the graphics a little bit and controller profiles that let you map the 8 powers(although I did remap a couple buttons for preference and it requires you to remember a 28 button layout).

How can Battlefield 1 be overrated ? The game literally has been announced with a trailer meaning it's not even out. I do agree on the Overwatch part though, I don't see the appeal it gets.

There is a Battlefield series, the one made by EA, but you said that Battlefield 1 was overrated while it didn't come out yet and we only got a trailer. Did you mean the very first Battlefield maybe ?

  • Nope it's it's own thing! What's really appealing is the game's mechanics in general, which contrast so much with modern FPS titles, the ever-expanding lore that brings us the great shorts, and the developers' dedication to refining the game for everyone to enjoy.

  • Eh, personally, I like Overwatch and I think it's good and the characters are amazing.

However, I do also think that it's been a bit overhyped. It's still good, though, as I mentioned before.

Great game, but to me, it didn't seem like a Telltale game. It seemed to me like a point-click Gearbox game. Not that I mind that, it's just...I like playing these games for awesome stories, amazing settings and very hard choices. Tales didn't have ANY of that. It seemed like it was focusing on the gameplay and the humor more than the story.

Oh, and the Rhysha vs Rhyiona bullshit.
