Be a Man!
"Be a man!" That's a phrase that you don't hear much anymore. Or maybe when you do hear it, what image springs to your mind?
Is the construction worker that works 8 to 12 hours a day up on the high steel? Or is it the man who works as a lumberjack, who cuts down trees with either his axe or chainsaw?
Is the man who wears a suit and puts in a full day's work at the office and comes home to see his family? Or is it the man is wearing the uniform of his country, and who's fighting on some distant shore, in a hail of bullets, so that you can enjoy the freedom that you have?
Here are some videos that go into more detai on that subject, and how you can become one!

I'm having a giant feeling of deja vu. The exact same thread was made last year and I'm 90% sure it was made by you as well, the thread was riddled with arguments. I've already said my piece on that topic so I will refrain from doing so again.
Edit: I remember now, it was definitely you who made it.
Yeah a very similar thread was made. I remember it not very fondly.
This reminds me of personal story few months ago
Basically there was girl in my class who had a job called timekeeper to remind the teacher it was break time
Me: Yo timekeeper breaktime tell the teacher
Girl: You do it be a man
Me: WOAH that is sexist
My teacher she is major faminazi suddenly freezes jumps off her chair and starts screaming as she paces around class
Teacher: WHO SAID THAT! WHO SAID THAT WORD!
Me: I did
She turned to me and look of horror on her face was priceless I'm literally whitest cis male in the place the disbelief quickly turned to anger
Teacher: MARK IF YOU EVER SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT AGAIN. I WILL BE SENDING YOU TO THE PRINCIPAL AND THEN PSYCHOLOGIST!!
Me: It was sexist tho
Teacher: STOP
Later on girl(timekeeper) came up to break annoyed asking why say that
Me: Think of perpective if I said to you make me a sandwich you're a woman would that be sexist?
Girl: yes
Me: exactly
Girl: Oh wait sorry I see your point
All it takes to be a man is a pecker and a sack. As for anything else; well, each man is shaped differently.
Instead of following some people who lecture you on the way you should live, simply be yourself.
By the way she reacted, sounds like your teacher needs to go "see a psycologist."
'Man up' is probably in the top 10 most used phrases in Australia. lol.
Feminists hate us.
I think that you're putting way too much meaning in a simple expression. i have the same problem with the feminist interpretation of it.
I'm a man of fortune and I must seek my fortune
Manly men make also great meatshields. After all their manliness demands to put themselves to risk even if it's against a machine gun. Then if Hollywood is to be believed, they get the love of their life after they survive.
I can remember when I was little we had a timekeeper but only this person was aloud to say because if I said something or anybody else we had to stay indide 10 minutes longer... Just because

God I hope I never get one of the loony professors. So far I've been very lucky. The only teacher I've had who dabbled in topics like the above only alluded to his positions on the subjects of racism, sexism, etc. He mostly just asked us questions and led the conversation in a way that made us question the topics, so it was actually quite nice to see perspectives like the one shouted at you minus all the stupid.
What does it mean to be a man? To the degree of the above videos, to live in a too literal language system. I've been called out as sexist in a lab for telling my friend to man up. She told me I was sexist and that you don't need to be a man to have courage (which was the topic). I told her to man up or shut up.
This thread already exists.
I have:
I'M A MAN!!!
But do you sparkle?
What does that mean?
Thumbs up for the Mulan reference.
Sic parvis magna
I always took it as a simple phrase as in "toughen up" but in a more macho way. It's harmless.
Now that I said macho I have to say this: "OOhhh yeeaahhh! Dig it!"
Then God bless Australia!!!
You're a man physically. But what about mentally and emotionally? That's the question every man has to ask himself.
And incidently, if you've hair on your dick, instead surrounding it, you may want to get a job in the circus.
...
Mate, you brought that on yourself...
Can I please ask what the point of this thread is?
It's merely to encourage teens and young men to examine their characters.
Anyone can say that they're a man, and they can use their age, and perhaps physical attributes to make their case.
But it seems that many don't ever stop to consider their character - what they are as people. That's what I was trying to get at, about the qualities that those who are truly men possess and demonstrate in their day to day lives.
That is my official theme song when "Grinding" in a Light Tank on World of Tanks. Need to be a man to have the balls to use a tank that gets up tiered match making, less hp and firepower and zero armor than almost everything they will face. hehe
Got it.
From my experience 'being a man' often seemed to mean succumbing to peer pressure.
Honestly this is being a man in most respects. When someone chose not to pull the trigger.

Im not a fan of the phrase its usually said in a snarky bully kind of way. It should be "do my bidding" because its usually used to make someone do something they don't want to.
I didn't even need to click on here to know who made this thread.

You don't need 2 testicles to be a man. Ask testicular cancer survivors.
Neither did I.
Sums up every thread by him.
As long as you have a dick you're good.
A person with an X and Y chromosome.
