I kind of differ to most of the points raised in this thread, although 'all lives matter', I don't like the idea of 'removing' what identifi… morees our races, colours etc and just treating us all as the 'one' human. Truth is, we ARE different, many black folk live very different lives to whites and vice versa simply based on upbringing, social statuses and so forth. This is just a basic truth many find hard to grasp.
I personally believe the solution to the problem of racism isn't removing the idea of race itself, but respecting these differences we have. Everyone is unique, every race is unique and has its own distinct features, or even place in the world and society. It's just how life is, I don't think we should remove these social barriers, but alter them (drastically of course) to respect the beauty of our differences. If that makes sense.
In my opinion, treating all races as a whole is rather asinine, and a concept I don't believe will eve… [view original content]
Race is irrelevant, its just few genes that determine melanin gene expression in skin melanocytes of epidermis if we are talking about black people. Thats all. How is it relevant in the modern world?
Not interested in getting technical. I know you understand what I mean. If I'm confusing myself with 'newer' scientific terms then I apologise, as far as I'm concerned race is a simple way to classify groups of people whether it's scientifically correct or politically correct. Point still stands.

bad because it's literally similar to saying that you can't support a breast cancer walkathon, because all cancer patients matter. It's true, all cancer patients matter, but in this particular instance we are supporting breast cancer patients. It's in no way saying the others are excluded.
What is the correct term? Sorry but this is a thread with racism at its core and you refuse to believe in race? I'm confused.
How can I distinguish between a black African and a white European if I can't establish the difference in race? Or a Mexican and an Arabian? There are numerous distinct features that seperate these people, as well as lifestyles, societal structures etc. Whether we call it race or not is irrelevant. It's a word, I simply used it to get my point across. This isn't really relevant and not a point I'm interested in arguing in.

Good. Black lives are the ones being targeted and have been the ones being discriminated against for hundreds of years. Yes, all lives matter, but black lives are the minority and quite obviously the most targeted group of police brutality. Although I don't entirely agree with some of the execution of this movement, I support it.

I think you're conflating race with culture.
Not sure if you're joking...
They go hand in hand in many instances.
No, they actually don't. Biologically race isn't believed to exist in any meaningful way.

Are you crying or smiling awkwardly?
Well if you want to save three letters by being factually wrong, go ahead.

Terrorists? You're stretching it a bit mate...
Like I said, go ahead.
EDIT: Getting back on track though, I agree with the basic premise.
A terrorist organization? LMAO.
Guess I should be surprised, since we live in an age of "everything that scares me is terrorism."
Well that is the name of the game
It's a bad movement Do black lives matter? Hell yes they do, but the movement is going about it all the wrong way. AllLivesMatter
How dare you state fact!

I'm not sure where you got that idea.
Exactly
It doesn't mean only black lives matter
It means black lives matter too
To paraphrase a youtube comment I can't find anymore
If you believe #blacklivesmatter means 2 instead of 1, you're an idiot.
