EDIT: Apparantly, I can't post videos for some reason.
2nd EDIT: Got the video to show, but now it takes you to Youtube instead of playing it here.
Bet people would have thought I'd be among the upset. Sorry, this is nothing like 2013. A couple tweaks and it'll be fine. My biggest issue was remedied. I'm good.
Of course, I also wouldn't be against a more stylised forum with linear discussion, if you're ever going to change again.

I said earlier in the thread that if they keep the technical updates but go back to the old look it would be best. If the old look is not on the table for being brought back (it should be), then the best thing I guess would be to darken the background because white is the wrong choice, and to add borders where they were removed. The site now looks like a partially loaded web page, like when Wikipedia glitches. To be completely honest I hate the way it looks now, but some borders and a darker background would go a long way.
Lol I'm not a staff member. I don't update the site, I'm just a volunteer who helps keep order on the forums in terms of people interacting with each other as well as keeping the boards free of spam and doing other small odds and ends like writing FAQs.
Can we have a thread dedicated to the current bugs that is afflicting the site? (No, I don't mean "complaints" such as - make the background dark! or we need borders!) Just something where people can list off the problems that have occurred due to this change, and it would help the staff in that they wouldn't need to sift through all the comments on this thread to find the problems and fix them. It'd just get everyone's bugs more organized so things get resolved more smoothly.
Other mods and I are already compiling information to forward to the web team. It will be more helpful if we have one consolidated discussion, as both staff members and mods are checking here often.

Firstly, the new layout of the forums looks really interesting, and is showing a lot of potential. I'm happy to see that the timezones are now linked to the individual's country, though I think for admittance sake a lot of us have connected our timezones to the telltale timezone XD At any rate, so far it's looking good (perhaps a bit too white, but that's something I can get over), however I've run into one issue.
So I have a lot of PM's with a few users on these forums, which is usually active daily. However since this new layout of the forum has come in, I've been having a bit of a problem. Typing out the message? No problem. Posting it (well that's an issue). I hit post, and it scrolls my screen up to a point in the PM which I must've had a few weeks ago. I scroll down, and the message is not sent, just slightly greyed out until I hover my mouse over it. I try it again, and rinse and repeat the same thing happens. I'm not sure if this is a one off thing with me, or if anyone else is getting the same problem. From my short experience with it I can assure you it's not a fun one, and I'm just curious on how to get this fixed
Other mods and I are already compiling information to forward to the web team. It will be more helpful if we have one consolidated discussion, as both staff members and mods are checking here often.
I wasn't really aware you guys did that (I mostly thought you mods were just the law around here). So, thanks. :P
EDIT: Hey, look! It didn't change into an emoji! (Unless that's just me...)
We've let staff members know that there are issues with PMs. I don't know when there will be any updates on it, but we have given them a heads up though and have let them know of other issues that they have already fixed.

I meant to say that users in desktops, laptops and other portable devices will come across long narrow walls of text. Nothing will change for smartphones in this sense, since the comments in smartphones will inevitably have to be reformatted anyway.
You would have had long, narrow walls of text anyways. This changes nothing other than making it easier for users elsewhere to read posts without weird formatting issues.
(I mostly thought you mods were just the law around here)
That's mostly the case, yes, but we do have ways of contacting the staff if needed, and we do get informed if there are important updates that you guys should know about.
It''s not an obligation or anything on our part, but it makes it easier for all parties involved to tell them about any issues. That, and as I'm sure you may have seen, some staff have already posted in this thread anyways.

The change seems for the better at least from the technical perspective. As many have stated already, changes are a bit difficult to adapt to at first but it's going to feel like home again in a few days/weeks once we get used to it.
The only criticism I have are the visuals. It looks very simplistic and the hyper bright background is hurting my eyes a little bit to be fair, I would suggest a bit darker color than plain white. Buttons and such could also use a little bit more style perhaps, but it's a matter of personal taste. I applaud the changes so far, and hope that there will be at least a personalized setting to change the BG color because the current one is really f****ing my eyes up currently
Perhaps it would be cool to have a style set for each game and just let the user to chose? I know it's essentially more work that is unlikely to happen but it would be cool to be able to choose the visual skin to your own personal preference of a favorite TTG title.

I was just doing that as an exaggerated example to make it more noticeable. Posts will still be able to be full length like this, even if you press enter afterwards to make a separate line appear below...

The majority of changes that we've made have been back-end; we completely overhauled the way that we create and deliver content. Additionally as most of you have noticed, most of the site got a complete face lift as well. The full visual improvement we want to make to the Community hasn't happened yet, but I assure all of you that it will be soon. And it will not be entirely white. The biggest reason for all of this work is to allow us the ability to make consistent improvements throughout all areas of the site; community, company, jobs, game pages, news, PR posts, etc. We needed the ability to iterate and change and add content quickly, which just wasn't possible in the past.
All of that essentially states that "We did a whole bunch of stuff that you guys can't actually see." I know that can be frustrating, so the best I can say is please be patient, work with our dedicated mods for communication, feedback and suggestions, and watch as we continue to make improvements and add features and functionality to your home here.
Can't give specifics of course, but the fans in our community are VERY important to us and we want to grow the connection we have between Telltale and you. For example, we've started pulling popular threads from the forums onto the games pages themselves, to highlight the contributions that you are all making.
I may reply fairly infrequently, but I assure you all that I'm here, reading and working with our web devs and moderators.
Oh, so this is basically the beta version of the site? Or the frame we get while it's under construction in the background? Either way, thanks for letting us know how everything's working out over there, and how things are going to play out... It's nice that you guys care, so thank you.
just for fun...:

I think it said that you can now post videos by only typing the url without using the "link" button.

Ok I'll try that now
No, don't leave
But then it takes me to Youtube, when I want to be able to watch it here.
Also, none of these replies were showing up in my inbox.
I know, that's the stupid part
Sorry but this is too new. The biggest problem about this new update is that I don't get notifications from people who reply to my comments.

That should eventually be fixed I believe...
Will not being able to see replies also be fixed.
It looks like what happens when you try to use a Classic Theme on Windows 10...
it still won't let you play the video
Yep. That's what I hate the most
You and your friends better fix it up fast.

At this point, I do not know if that is a feature or a bug.

Bold letters don't work.

They don't?
That's exactly what I was thinking lol.
That's the only problem I have.

Sorry, but I don't think this was a good idea.
I don't like the white background. It's bright enough to hurt my eyes when I wake up and open my laptop.

With the button that says bold? Or just double asterisk before and after.
