I guess it is what it is

  • Very cool game, waiting for a S2

  • Still absolutely enamoured with its use of cinematography and music design.

  • Has its flaws: The voice acting wasn't very good and the writing was pretty questionable at certain points. But I still thought it was a good experience overall.

  • Episodes 3 & 4 were great. The rest was ok at best. I would rate it a 6,5/10 (it was okay.)

  • It's still a great game

The voice acting wasn't very good

I agree the voice acting wasn't good for minor characters but for the main characters like Max and Chloe, the voice acting was phenomenal. For a troubled character like Max, I think it worked well. And I think Ashly Burch nailed it as Chloe.

  • Still shit.

  • Max? Voice actor? Phenomenal?

  • The first couple episodes she was pretty average but I think she got really good as the game continued.

  • Despite my complaints about the final episode it's still a great game. A tad overrated though.

Just so you know there's a Life is Strange thread already.

  • Life is Strange One Year Later

Well, of course... Life is always going to be strange, don't expect that to change.

Stupidness aside, I am yet to play it. But since Episode 1 is free I will probably be checking it out soon. (Sorry for the pointless post, I know you said "To people who have played LiS")

  • I disagree strongly on Max's voice acting. Chloe's was fine, but Max's was just terrible.

  • It was an enjoyable ride overall while some parts I found boring or uninteresting, it did drive me up to finishing the whole thing. As for the endings, I don't blame Dontnod because of the budget they had. I have to say though I was disappointed about the ineffectiveness of my choices and I had high hopes for the series. Another thing I noticed is that some of the choices kinda had the same weight (or effect) as some of Telltale's choices. I know for the things to do to save Kate (like reading her favorite verse) was a cool thing to add. I just wish that they could keep the choices of how we made friends with everyone like Kate, Victoria, and Frank. If the choices had an impact on the ending, I would give the game a very high rating. But for some people LiF might be a waste of time considering both of the endings don't satisfy what you'd expect for a game like this. But overall me and my friend liked it.

    My rating: 7.5/10

    My friend's rating: 9/10

I hope and trust that Dontnod will make LiF S2 better with a new cast. I also hope that this new cast is somewhat relative to our reality and that it has characters that we know and can relate to (perhaps a diverse cast of different races, but that's just what I hope). I'm also kinda excited to see the Tv show, though I think some of the cast is kinda off but you never know. But Olivia Holt as Rachel Amber is beyond me. Guess I'll have to see her performance before I judge. But anyways excited for S2 of the game and excited for the Tv show.

  • For a troubled character like Max, I think the voice acting worked for her.

  • I don't mind Max's voice that much. If anything, I actually like it. There is an odd and dorky charm to it.

Good series except for the finale which is one of the worst things I've ever played, but overall its a 7/10

Also, The finale came out the 20th with Tales, so you're a bit early.

  • Memories....Good times...

  • It happened and I'll leave it at that.

  • I really liked it, but I don't think the voice actors were the problem. More-so, the script dialogue was pretty cringe-worthy at times. Other than that, I really enjoyed the narrative (until its villain turned out to be pretty one-note.) Dunno if we'll be getting season 2 anytime soon considering Dontnod have that Vampyr game coming out next.

  • Hated it for many reasons. One of which, the damn game glitched an achievement and now I can never complete it. What a turd and it'll haunt my gamer tag forever as the staff have discontinued support for the game.

  • Maybe you saw something in it that I didn't, but to me, it sounded like she was about to nod off at any minute. I'll admit that she got a little better as the series progressed, but it still isn't really enough for me to consider it good.

  • For me, it's only been 5 months since I only recently finished the game, and while it does have it's flaws, 5 months later I can still look back at it fondly. The game worked on so many levels, and it failed on many. But for me, the good outweighs the bad. Amazing music, weighty decisions, great cinematography, beautiful art and some amazing voice actors. Life is Strange may not be the best choice-based adventure game ever, but it's certainly a really great one.

The ending was garbage, and it made no sense that Chloe's life = a tornado. Like why even give Max the power if the goal isn't to save Chloe at all, but to let her die so there would be no tornado. It just made the game pointless. And if you do decide to save Chloe you get to watch as they just drive by in Chloe's truck. So lame.

  • I enjoyed it and eagerly waited for each episode's release. The music, the calm atmosphere, the mystery, the choices, and the friendship between Max and Chloe were elements that made Life Is Strange a good game to me. I hope a second game will be made someday.

  • Good concept, poor execution.

The concept was pretty cool - not only was it a dialogue and choice-based narrative game like telltale's, but it also had the time travel element that opened up so many more possibilities with those mechanics. Going back and seeing the consequence of both choices was a cool idea. It was also an original story, which meant that players could jump in easily and not feel alienated by an established franchise and it's following connotations (ie people who don't like The Walking Dead or Game of Thrones or Minecraft may never pick up the telltale game with that title).

However, execution botched it. Characters, voice acting, dialogue, logic, and animation were all pretty one note, forced, and stiff, which especially made earlier episodes difficult to get through. Despite the choices seemingly having a large impact they didn't reach far beyond what a telltale game would have been able to do, and the endings made much of the rest of the game seem like a pointless venture. In the end I was pretty disappointed with the result.

  • I was spellbound by this game. As a writer myself I found it very hard to wait for the Eps. I played on 360 and it looked amazing there. This was before I bought my xbone, and on here it sux...weird "matrix bullet time glitch" that crashed my console and made it reboot to factory defaults. Horible sound just a hot mess. Basicly 360 version was optimized,Xbone was late and crap. One mans view....don't kill me;)

Life: "Hey Max, we're going to give you the power to go back in time to save your best friend and reconcile with her, only for us to later create a giant tornado that will destroy the lives of all you love(apart from Chloe) unless you go back in time and let her die. Sure, we may have trolled you but at least you now have wonderful memories of a friend... but she did have to die again without even knowing you were around... but hey, at least you know what WOULD'VE happened had she lived!"

  • I think it was a nice game and for a while there, they almost got me to believe that the choices in Life Is Strange had more of an effect on the story than any of the choice-based narrative games that Telltale has created ;)

  • Still only played 20 mins of episode 1 haha

  • Man that's spot on lol!!

The tornado was there to show that Max had completely destroyed the flow of time and ripped a hole into reality itself. The choice to go back and not save Chloe basically means Max never used her powers, and in not using her powers, she never caused a rip in the fabric of time. It's quite easy to understand really. The ending was shit but it was comprehensible.

EDIT: Although I'm not really sure how it was a tornado that resulted of the rip in time's flow. The tornado itself was stupid, I think it'd make much more sense if it were a black hole or a rift appearing on the skyline.

  • I loved it despite some of the issues I had with it. It's a good game, for me at least.

Still hated how you just submitted to whatever Chole wanted . Wanted to ditch her and take another path in the story.
And it still has the worst ending I've ever seen...ever. enter image description here

Please people play this game instead .

...And it's been an absolute disappointment for a year as well.

The story having downright unintentionally comedic dialogue, poor pacing, dull characters, events that were never expanded or explored upon, a villain that perhaps had the single worse motivation of any antagonist of any games I've seen, and the awful endings ties a game trying so hard to be a rich cinematic experience but not understanding it's a video game and players want to be immersed by gameplay not talking to people in a small box or having the most boring protagonist ever muttering listless thoughts about a flower or a skateboard with her hipster paraphrasing only making people like me cringe cause of how awful it is.

    Don't make a sequel.

  • My favorite game afte TWD (all 3 seasons + Michonne) and 'Quintessence'.
Amazing story, the original protagonist, the real and imaginative characters, beautiful cinematography, awesome soundtrack, SUCH GOOD atmosphere, unexpected turns of events, music at the end of each episode has always been exellent!
9.5/10 cause Episode 5 was not such good like others.
