Climate Change: The Great Debate

I don't think this thread's been made before (and even if it has, there seems to be a lot of new people around) so where do you all stand on climate change / global warming, and what's your overall thoughts on the topic?

I believe the climate is changing, but the climate has also changed drastically for millions of years, whether or not humans have an effect, it all comes full circle.
Sure, we can try slow it down for the betterment of ourselves, but I get really sick of all these doomsayers who treat it like the end of the world, it's really pathetic. Too much hypotheticals and not enough reasoning. Life goes on.

  • Tell that to him.

  • Clearly a photoshop. And again, life goes on, in a hundred years we might be hit by an Ice Age and polar bears will thrive. I'm not saying we shouldn't take care of our environment and animals etc because we most definitely should. But the earth will always change, and it has changed more dramatically in previous years than it has now, we are part of the earth also.

And it was clearly a joke. At least I thought it was clear.

  • Well, it's a serious matter. I don't think one civilized country do enough efforts to fight against it.

Main problem is the people in denial: many are done by enterprise, so they can keep to do their business. It wouldn't surprise me if some of them found research to prove climate change isn't a serious problem.

The cause of this global warming is made by human hand. What causes it, to be very short: pollution, increase of Co2. It's a main problem for human health aswell.

At some point, something should be made. Either we hide our head in the ground until it's too late, either we do act against it.

  • I don't really care whether humans are causing it or not. Clean energy is something we should of been working for, for decades. But it seems like people want to do a complete about face on the subject. The World's Water Supply for example is becoming increasingly acidic for example. Pollution is at all time highs thanks to India and China. I don't bloody freaken care if Global Warming is our fault. When you have millions of people dying a year in China from Pollution, that is a serious problem. When we refuse to push for cleaner energies just to keep "JOBs!" in specific states, or for the sake of economic prosperity. Well... when we run out of clean drinking water what then? How expensive will that be to fix?

Kicking the Can down the road regardless of reasons is the dumbest thing we can possibly do.
