Not surprised. It was only a matter of time before they discontinued support for last generation consoles.
Thats good to hear. There is no reason to keep making or putting out versions of games for last gen consoles anymore.
On a semi different note will I be able to play S3 on a MSI GE72 Laptop?
not trying to be mean but seriously guys its time for you to move on to the newer gen consoles.
or play on a decent pc as telltale games tend to ruin better on them then on consoles.
well actually from what ive been hearing telltale games seems to have alot more problems on pc considering how many people were upset about batman's telltale game on pc due to to how bad it was on there.
Atleast one can shift on mobile
There's some people, including me, who cannot afford to get new consoles, and some of play S1/S2 on the old consoles too. We can't just MAGICALLY wish for a new console. I was excited to get this game, but now learning that it is not available for the old consoles, I'm disappointed
Do you have a computer? A laptop? If you can get a hold of one, use Steam. Since Telltale is allowing people to enter in information of their playthroughs, you should be able to continue playing the game on Steam without issue. It'll be the same price as on console, and sales generally happen on Steam before the consoles, so...
I'm just saying that if you REALLY want to play the game, you shouldn't have an excuse :P Borrow the computer from a friend or neighbor or something for a day if you have to. No one should be left behind. Cough TLOU S2 confirmed Cough
Wait have they actually confirmed this?
My laptop is really old sadly, I might just have to wait till Christmas and hopefully, by some chance, I would be able to play with it![:) :)](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Hope you get to play it soon. If you do play it on your computer you can do a quick-create a tailored backstory (Recreate) and create a save file from which to start the new season with. So you don't have to play s1 and s2 on your computer to continue the story you want to see.
Yes https://telltale.com/support/article/twd3-platforms/
Wow nice fumble there Tell Tale. You release Batman the final episode within the same month of the first episode of New Frontier and yet it can't be for last gen, just because. It should have been the final series for last gen, I would have been OK with that, yet as is, it doesn't make any sense. I'm very upset by this news. People keep telling me to upgrade and yet I'm still happy with my 360.
I'm glad it's not.
Telltale would only limit the engine if they continue support for an old console.
Still no word about season 1 on my Game Cube.
specs?
Or the PS1.
Its not a fumble. There is no reason for companies to keep making games for last gen consoles.
No they don't. Telltale games tend to run better on PS4, while pc versions as of late tend to be plagued with game breaking technical issues.
I guess the old consoles just can't keep up anymore. I can't say I'm surprised since what I heard on Batman having issues on the PS3, and with how much improved Season 3 looks graphically compared to that too. There was that worry on my mind something like this might happen, but still bummed out to hear this.
I'll still be able to play Season 3 with Sialark for now, but I'll have to wait until I get a PS4 probably sometime next year before I can get it. I know I could try steam, but I'd rather buy a physical copy. Just a shame they couldn't get this news out sooner T.T
Or my Nentendo 64.
It will be on ps4 and Xbox one??
Yes.
There is actually one fumble, they will lose alot of money. I didn't think anyone played xbox 360 on the new games coming out but there seems to be alot just on telltales forums. But thats on them.
Alright thank you
question is your card a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M. if Soo yes it should run however I do not knew if it is Directx 11.1 compliant.
Or my Atari
I know that ps3 and 360 have to die out at sometime and yet Batman is released within the same time frame as New Frontier so why was Frontier cancelled ? It was pulled at the last minute, basically one week from release. This series should have been the final one for last gen. Had they said three months ago that New Frontier would be current only, I'm sure the blow would have hurt less. This was a major fumble to wait at the last moment and now many will have to get their preorder money back.
Considering how many people bought a PS4 and/or Xbox One, they're not losing much money by not releasing last gen versions of this game.
They won't lose a ton of money, yet they released Batman within the same time frame as New Frontier. It's very upsetting that one week before release, they cancelled last gen. Basically they led some of the fan base on and that is a fumble. I thought that this would be the final Tell Tale last gen game. They could have used the Batman engine for last gen. This game is more important to the fan base than any other Tell Tale game at this point. Walking Dead got me and many others into Tell Tale games. For them to cancel the last gen versions at the last moment is poor judgment.
Or my abacus.
in a lot of catalogs and advertisements the new game is there for PS3 on pre order, seems an odd decision so late on to cancel it,that said it's understandable that it was always going to new consoles, the graphics are improved no doubt but the first 2 games handled pretty well on ps3.
Did they even confirm it was going to be on last gen systems?
No its the opposite. Making a version for last gen consoles is a waste of time.
Maybe to you but I feel for those people who waited for s3 to come out just for at the last moment they said it is not avaible for older gens. They could have decided this earlier so people could either save up or just not waste their time waiting if they don't want to upgrade. It is time to move to newer gens but it's still a stupid way how they did it.
this may have just been the case during the wii,360, and ps3 gen. i remember playing sam and max on the 360 and it lagged. and reviews say the 360 version of wd s1 was laggy as well.
But is my iPad more powerful than a PS3? And will they still port it to the iPad? I just can't afford to get a new computer (or update my current one) or console. I'm willing to try to make room in my storage data if there's an iPad port and the game's worth getting.
Many people are still on last gens, especially if we are talking about play station and Xbox here.
Let's see.
Walking Dead Season 2
Wolf Among Us
Minecraft Story Mode
Walking Dead:Michonne
Game of Thrones
Tales from Borderlands
Batman
All were released for last gen. They obviously weren't a waste of time. Tell Tale obviously did lead people on as there were pre orders for this game on Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, etc. Batman was released late this year for last gen, so tell me, why is it unbelievable that people expected this game was to be the final one for last gen ?
For WDS2 and Wolf, they were released first on the previous gen consoles, there was no ps4 or Xbone version at the time, so of course it made sense to release it on those consoles. The other examples you mentioned were released last gen...and were noticeably inferior to the current gen versions. As i said before, many people at this point have bought a ps4 or Xbone, so from a business standpoint( and considering the not-perfect teltale engine) why after Batman, would they continue to release last gen versions of a game that is likely going to be inferior and not sell well compared to the current gen consoles or even including on PC.
Its not unbelievable that you unexpected this game to come on last gen systems. I'm saying its not a fumble.
