My town I lived in used to have this fair which was really amazing, but as I got older it's progressively gotten more shit and scarce.

Not very PC but probably the feminist punk rock movement of Riot Grrrl. Wish I was properly around at the time so I could enjoy the cultural movement as it happened! Though there are still some modern bands working in the same genre, like the Julie Ruin and Daddy Issues.
It was kind of nice not to have to worry about terrorism in the U.S. prior to 2001, and people worried less about nuclear war after the U.S.S.R. broke up in late 1991. It was pretty nice politics-wise, where the highlight was making fun of how the President defined sexual relations in a way that he didn't consider cheating.
Going swimming during the summer. PS1 and Gameboy games. Good pop and alternative rock music. And also when Disney and Dreamworks still made hand drawn movies.

The punch line of said wisecrack was that I was not alive in the late 90's, therefore it is not possible for me to miss anything particular about that certain time period, therefore as a humorous statement, I simply replied being birthed as a joke not meant to be taken seriously. We had hope global warming would become under control in another decade, and we seemed to be on the way... then China & India happened, then Republicans happened using them as an excuse to ignore it, then terrorist happened, everyone stopped caring. T-T
Star War Prequels did not Exist... and for most of that time nor did the Special Editions... oh it was a good time to be a Star Wars fan.

Flash/Digital animation doesn't detract from overall quality of animation. In fact with the rise of digital animation you could do greater things with that animation than any hand drawn thing. Sure hand drawn has a lot more effort put into it, but digital is not a bad thing.
