I'm about 3 hours into the game right now, and I personally feel that this game is a throw back to the original games. Storing items in a box, safe rooms, mixing items to make better items, solving puzzles, finding keys to open doors, interesting boss fights, backtracking a lot, feeling claustrophobic when fighting (shoot, run to the other side of the room, shoot, rinse & repeat), exploring a mansion... how more traditional Resident Evil can you get? It just baffles me how people say this game isn't similar to the older RE games when it's clear Capcom did try to go back to their roots while adding some new elements. From everything I saw I felt that RE7 was going to be way too similar to Outlast for me to enjoy it as a Resident Evil game, but I've been pleasantly surprised thus far.

You've been doing it for years.
There is only 2 classic characters mentioned via file but everything else is new but I urge you to know that the faker by the ending, MAY say that he is a classic character, but he is NOT that guy!
I just hate when RE becomes a first person shooter, and what happened to the previous characters? or at least give some other new characters some spotlight like jake and helena...
What exactly did they change too much? From what I've seen and heard, this has a lot of classic RE tropes. You apparently get a grenade launcher in the game as well as a flamethrower.
I think I'll definitely get it, but what bothers me is that if it didn't have Resident Evil slapped on the title I probably wouldn't get it. Games like RE7 just aren't my thing.
Whatever you say, little miss perfect sunshine, while you're playing the victim card, I think I'll just wait till you get banned again for the 100th time.
Also I don't care how you feel either as Trolls are really not worth the effort to care about.

I, also am not a fan of first person horror games, but again, Resident Evil.
I just started playing it and so far it seems okay. I'm surprised the game is absolutely crushing scores. Someone I personally respect gave it an 8/10 and I was shocked to see that the average is between 8 and 9. Even with reviewers, whom were critical of the direction change, lowballing it with 4-6s.
While I would not like the series to solely continue with the style of being VR focused(one cutscene, so far, was a bit odd watching on a TV), I'm glad that it's been proven that Resident Evil can still be a successful franchise as survival horror.
Textures are very disappointing. That's not something that ruins games for me and has to be due to the VR. That van at the very beginning just looks so flat. The textures have almost no depth to them up close.
Again, it doesn't kill the game for me. I just thought that games were past this now.

I'm watching on yt (wow, Cry fu.... up his last video) and I really like it. First hours are very interesting and I don't care at all if it's more or less RE.
Btw. did you notice some voice parts sound like Clementine? I believed it was Melissa.
The game was cool at the first hours gameplay. Scary but by the time the horror go and turn into first person shooter, and have the same kind of monsters all the game, that make you get bord by the time, and the game story have no contact with the prov RE games and the story it self wasn't that good RE6 story was better.
But still nice try capcom you tryed but the RE game will never back as it was. And the fan will never come along again.
I hella liked it. Although a few small issues keep It from being truly a masterpiece.
+The pacing is outstanding. In fact, I'd say it's the only game out of the franchise to not have poopy pacing and actually keeps new things intense and genuinely engrossing as the game progresses.
+Love the locations. Large but not too excessive that you find yourself becoming overwhelmed. And a much more diverse series of areas than I was expecting meant toward the end I was still excited to explore and not just rush through.
+The story is a nice blend of older more silly RE games with a more grounded and atmospheric approach.
+The bosses are actually fun and challenging.
-Enemy variety is poor. Essentially there's goo monsters and a few segments with bugs. That's about it.
-The game is relatively short, so if you're not a fan of replaying games multiple times to unlock new things, you may be angry by it's 3 and half to 9 hour game time.
-A couple segments are a bit too frustrating at times.
-No other content available besides the fairly short story mode. No Mercenaries, Raid, or Co-op.
Personally would give it a 10/10 and I'm not the type to just throw that number out. Great cast of villains, boss fights that are challenging but highly entertaining (boss gets into a car and does sick burn outs ffs) While it's not saying much story wise it's the best RE by far, the baker house is just as memorable as the Spencer estate, the game is finally HORROR which these games and video games in general have been lacking for quite some time now. I didn't expect much from RE7 because I'm not a huge RE fan, more of a Silent Hill guy, but it blew past my expectations.
RE7 is one of the best stories of the RE Franchise. Very sad indeed if people can pick up on the emotional side of events. The gameplay is very reminiscent of older RE titles but with a modern style. I enjoy the gameplay a lot, the crafting, the limited space, figuring out what do I need more ammo or health, the item box storage, puzzles, etc. Atmosphere along with the sounds and music is extremely well done. Constantly on edge of every little sound to the point that too makes gives me anxiety. Very nice to explore and find out more to the story. I really missed the back and forth of getting adjusted to a few areas in the older games and RE7 brings that back so well. And yes, the uneasiness when coming across a new door or new area is a nice touch.
The boss battles are well done and also stressful as it doesn't take long to run out of ammo...well, I suppose it depends how you play in some cases. Which brings me to an observation. I have watched quite a few Let's Players and some of them play in different ways. This makes RE7 versatile depending on the player's style of gameplay. Such as, some are willing to face the threats and use ammo, some will avoid at all times if they can, some will use the surroundings to their advantage and some will use a combination depending on the enemy. I really do love that versatility.
Despite the characters being new to the series, it didn't distract me from enjoying the game nor the story. In fact, some of the characters I even grew quite attached to. The game being in first person perspective is new for the main series but it really does make this experience that much more terrifying and personal than third person perspective would ever allow. I am happy that Capcom is willing to try new experiences and new features because if not, RE would get boring because of the same old, same old. So my thoughts overall is that it is a really well thought out game and I can appreciate everything that went into making this game. Capcom has done a very good job. And now, RE7 is one of my favorite RE titles.
I'm excited about the upcoming DLC and movie Vendetta. I'm curious and looking forward to seeing how Capcom will progress the RE games.
I liked the start. But once you wake up in the main house, the game became pretty dull and boring in my opinion. Nonsensical riddles, mass shooting parties instead of the dark, creepy horror-atmosphere from the demo/beginning, hundreds of the same slimy monster enemies and totally fuqed up boss creatures.
Kojima's Silent Hills PT is still better in my book.
Some people will never accept change no matter how positive that change might be & since it's FP I can see people overlooking everything good about it or not even playing it because of that but they'll still give an "opinion" on the full game. All in all that's there loss & who knows?maybe they'll eventually play/praise it for the same reasons they claimed it wasn't good........I've been playing RE since the original & over the years people have claimed to dislike this installment of the franchise or that installment of the franchise only to later admit that they jumped the gun or judged a book by its cover & I doubt that'll end anytime soon which is why I always play a game for myself before judging it no matter what people say I even played through all 3 campaigns of RE 6 after all the negativity that surrounded it after release & didn't regret it because as a long-time gamer plus it being a new RE installment I had to play it for MY OWN piece of mind I just wish certain others would too (I'm sure there's plenty of gamers/RE fans that also do & feel the same) because giving a false opinion of a game or not even trying it after all the work put into it only makes things worse.

Cant really say that i agree with your opinion on RE 7 but damn I was REALLY looking forward to the full P.T. game coming out the demo was & still is great I still have it downloaded & go back to play it every once in awhile.I know they greenlit it again after it was cancelled shortly after the release of the demo but without all the original people being apart of the project anymore I lost interest because I feel it won't live up to the standards that the demo set without the same creative minds attatched.I'll still get back to it when any new details are released & play it if or when it's released because it could still be solid but when people leave a project & it gets cancelled at such an early stage it's not usually a good sign.Cheers to a full P.T. game being released no matter what the name may be changed to (if they change it) I just want some type of continuation from the demo.

How do you still have the demo? I heard it was deleted from all PS4s, even if you wanted to keep it. And as Jaku already said, the game is cancelled for good. It won't come back at all.

You don't know how RE works. Resident Evil was always meant to be a survival horror franchise. What? You wanted Resident Evil 7 to be a Mich… moreael Bay action garbage like Resident Evil 5 and 6 instead?
Edit: Every single First Person game that has horror doesnt need to be compared to a creepy hallway walking simulator. PT was never even gonna be a game, it was a TEASER for Silent Hills.

They should change the title to "Spencer House of 1000 Corpses," for as much feels ripped out of that film.
Now they just need to add a little Captain Spaulding. Becuase there is nothing that isn't improved by adding a little Captain Spaulding.

Overall, I'd give it a solid 8.
This game is super popular on yt. Even Cleveland Brown plays RE7.
To quote Auntie Momma from Cleveland Show: ''OUTRAAAGEOUS!' xD

They can't delete something downloaded onto your hard drive so if you got it before it was taken down you keep it until you delete it.
I watched Zoie Burgher first hour of RE7 today and I'm sure next parts won't be boring.
Its been okay, parts are a bit frustrating because the puzzles are a bit nonsensical, especially when having to dodge enemies while you think
Ah I see. Seems like I've fallen for false information then. Thanks for clearing things up for me.
Keep watching then. The first hour still takes place in the first house, that's still the good stuff.
After "they" said it wasn't dead GDT said a different variation of it is being made & it'll be a Silent Hill game.
As long as you never delete it then it's yours.
It's more RE than the most RE games since RE4
