  • That's pretty much what I said, it's not that interesting other than the fact that it's Clementine.

Because a lot of us don't really care about the plot, but facts about Clem are always interesting.

  • I mean that this point they could've done something creative with Kenny and Jane since they're capable of a character like Conrad.

We knew Jane and Kenny are going to die, since they were determinant, we just didn't know when and how. The how is the fucked up part though. Clementine isn't determinant.

  • That would certainly make the writing bad, but the mechanics work, the visuals are good and the voice acting is superb. When you throw around titles like the worst game ever made then you have to take more than just writing into account.

well i dunno I am trying to think of a series that has developed this amazing character I've been caring about as if it was my own daughter

  • You make some fair enough points as to why you prefer ANF over season 2, but it's still unanimous that season 2 is better than ANF. I'm glad you're liking ANF more than season 2 though, I wish I could say the same for myself.

ANF just feels like it was rushed because of all the rewrites. I would've preferred to wait longer and get 2+ hour episodes of good quality than this. I mean come on, nobody has any backstory except the Garcia family and clementine. That's easily fixed by giving us longer episodes/more hubs. Most of the problems with ANF could simply be fixed by giving us a little more effort.

I'd play ANF three times over before I went back to Season 2 to listen to "YOU NEED TO BE NICE TO SARAH", save the bitch, then watch her inevitably die. But I get it ANF is just terrible you guys, lollllllll

The face you make when you realize ANF is S3.

  • I do think the episode length is a problem. I also think that Telltale won't take another what was it 3 years to release another season? At least I sincerely hope not. It feels to me that Telltale is taking on soo many projects and games that I loved (Wolf Among Us and Tales from The Borderlands) I doubt will get sequels I know there's been talks but I mean GoT was confirmed for Season 2 and I haven't heard a word about that at all, maybe E3?

S1's finale: Oh boi! We're gonna find out who kidnapped Clementine, what happens to Lee and how it's all gonna end! Will Lee survive? Is there any chance that the group stays together? I will do everything to save Clem! Can't wait!

S2's finale: Holy moly, what a cliffhanger! My favorite characters are in danger, I'm so worried! What will happen to the baby? Are we gonna reach Wellington? Will Kenny and Luke butt heads again? What's the pizza and ice cream choice? I'm so excited to find out!

ANF's finale: Uh. Finally, the end of this season. Can't wait to see the credits roll!

  • Sadly but true however Glenn was use much better. He went to that hotel and gets trap but gives you advice to take down the zombies/walkers while making humour. then he later gives you feedback on weather you kill or didnt kill the girl in the hotel.

Glen he comes gives some advice and fights zombies/walkers but he is involved in anything like what Glenn was used in. Then he sort of give Javi some negitive feed back and leaves. Glenn got involed with a small part of the plot in the first episode. (goodbye sweet Garrus, sadly you arnt involved in Mass Effect any more. but i hope he turns up again in another game series)

That's cause jesus was a cameo just like glen was in s1

  • As bad as the season may be I'm NOT ready to wait three more years to see Clementine again. I'm really not ready.

You know, in all brutal honesty, maybe this is just a solid example of why some games should simply quit while they're ahead and not keep pumping out sequels in the hopes of outdoing their predecessors

I mean yeah, there was character potential for Clementine (and other characters) at the end of S1 and even S2, but is it really worth compromising the quality of the franchise and the trust of the consumers in the hopes that you can tell another worthwhile story?

Quite frankly, the more I think about it, maybe it would have been better for this series to have just ended after S1. Be a one and done thing. I mean, think about it-- if that was the case, everyone could have walked away more or less satisfied, instead of coming back for all these years, only to be disappointed with what it's become. To hell with the untapped potential and room for improvement, I'd take S1 being the end over seeing everyone yammer on about how their dreams have been consistently crushed for 4+ years.

All of which I think they could've had Doug do instead.

  • i swear to god if they say episode 5 is too long and they have to spit it into 2.

  • You know what, as long as it feels like two different episodes(with everything that implies) that feed into each other like Ties that Bind does, I think that'd be the most satisfying option.

i swear to god if they say episode 5 is too long and they have to spit it into 2.

  • wtf i thought it would be like two hours this time bc it's a finale and the entire season had been short

All of these people here are complaining about how ANF sucks, yet I am here enjoying game the same way as I enjoyed season one and two

  • edited May 2017

I get that people can find the choices in a text form by digging up some files in ANF or whatever, but how the fuck do people even come up with the future episode lengths?

  • edited May 2017

I'm going to call you a Clem fanboy because every single post from you is trashing Javier because Clementine is pushed to the side, as she should be. Maybe you like having a 12 year old girl doing everything for several adults (like she did IN THE ENTIRE SECOND SEASON), but I don't.

It's clear the writers for ANF did not want to continue Clementine's story, but Telltale forced them to because "#MyClementine". Clementine stopped being a good character when season 1 ended.

But to say that she can be totally removed is wrong. She's our first clue into The New Frontier, where beforehand they just shot at you. Her flashbacks reveal more about David and the group as a whole.

Is Javi really all that bad? Yes. Clementine is also a protagonist in this story, like it or not that she's not playable 100%

  • I suppose we'll find out for sure if it releases on the 23rd, with Telltale releasing the key art and announcing the trailer release for Thursday. If not... it'll probably be the 30th

  • I'm pretty sure Ep 5 release on 23
    I'm waiting...

  • the last couple times you predicted the episode lengths actual footage from the episodes got leaked, but im not really sure about episode 5.

  • Please god, make it happen.

And send this series to its grave already.

  • I don't agree with the series ending off at season 1 where it wasn't confirmed who found Clementine at the end and what will happen to her next, but I feel like season 2 could have ended with the Wellington ending becuase in that ending Clementine and AJ get a chance to live a somewhat normal happy life. If they give Clementine a shitty death I'm just going to pretend that the series ended off there even though that is a childish thing to do.

  • Yeah, I hope they make another season too. It would be a shame for such a great series to end off on such a crapy game. But perhaps it would be good to have a 3 year wait, that way Telltale can think over and learn from all of the stupid things they did this season and make a quality fourth season that has many of the strong elements season 1 and 2 had.

I don't get why they split the first 2 episodes because if you put them together it equals one episode not even a super long episode. Honestly since they built this series for new comers with a new protagonist that has previous relationships with the majority of the class we needed at least 1 episode that had the sole purpose of building up Javier's relationship with his family, this would have gotten people to at least like and care a little for what happens to Javier's family.

i swear to god if they say episode 5 is too long and they have to spit it into 2.
