I suppose we'll find out for sure if it releases on the 23rd, with Telltale releasing the key art and announcing the trailer release for Thursday. If not... it'll probably be the 30th
I know I am super annoying and always rant about why Clementine should have been the main protagonist and Javier should have been the dueteragonist with his arc. But seriously what was Telltale thinking when they made this season! Come on Telltale you know better! You have made amazing games before!
The worst part about playing as Javier is not that you aren't playing as Clementine, it is that you are supposed to have previous relationships and feelings for characters you just barely met, who have little to none character development. They barely spent anytime indroducing Javier and his family, they just jumped straight into the intense events.
Telltale did an amazing job when they indroduced Lee with a mysterious dark back story left open to the player. Telltale triumphed again when they decided to make Clementine a little girl that Lee finds and takes in rather than his actual daughter. You see the full story as you watch their relationship grow and you become super attached to Clementine.
Say what you want about season 2 (personally I loved it and I found that it continued season 1 beautifully but now I am getting topic) but the character development is way better than ANF. The transtion from Lee to Clementine was so smooth and amazing we are now controlling the character we were protecting and training in the past game. Though there is a mistrustful indroduction to the new cast, Clementine is meeting and building up new relationships from the ground up with all of the new characters. This makes the player like the new characters because we get to meet them and watch them grow the same way clementine does, the person we are controlling. This creates a stronger, more relatable relationship with the player and the new characters as well as the player and Clementine. Yes, regardless of the choices you make only 2-3 of the main cast survive. I however didn't mind this because it showed that sometimes no matter what actions you take to protect your friends they can end up dying anyways.
In ANF they screwed up big time. Instead of continuing the story of the girl you have spent 2 seasons developing... They indroduce a new character for the "New Comers" who make up less than 10% of the people playing and commenting on this game! This was a very smart and intelligent move because why wouldn't you want the third game to be about a new character and his family who you are supposed to love and protect! I mean if you are going to make such a stupid move at least put effort into indroducing and developing these new people you are supposed to control and care about! Javier's arc would have been great if it was seen from an outside perspective and you were playing as Clementine and building up relationships with Javier and his different family members.
Seriously could you imagine if The Last Of Us 2 was about playing as a new character who crosses paths with Ellie and another group of survivers. But don't worry! You get a five minute flash back as Ellie where you see how Joel dies!
That last point is a very good point. It makes little to no sense for them to abruptly introduce an absolutely new protagonist of the series after 2 seasons of a established protagonist who is sidelined to being a minor afterthought and disregarding the previous seasons.

I'm going to call you a Clem fanboy because every single post from you is trashing Javier because Clementine is pushed to the side, as she s… morehould be. Maybe you like having a 12 year old girl doing everything for several adults (like she did IN THE ENTIRE SECOND SEASON), but I don't.
It's clear the writers for ANF did not want to continue Clementine's story, but Telltale forced them to because "#MyClementine". Clementine stopped being a good character when season 1 ended.
But to say that she can be totally removed is wrong. She's our first clue into The New Frontier, where beforehand they just shot at you. Her flashbacks reveal more about David and the group as a whole.

You know, in all brutal honesty, maybe this is just a solid example of why some games should simply quit while they're ahead and not keep pu… moremping out sequels in the hopes of outdoing their predecessors
I mean yeah, there was character potential for Clementine (and other characters) at the end of S1 and even S2, but is it really worth compromising the quality of the franchise and the trust of the consumers in the hopes that you can tell another worthwhile story?
Quite frankly, the more I think about it, maybe it would have been better for this series to have just ended after S1. Be a one and done thing. I mean, think about it-- if that was the case, everyone could have walked away more or less satisfied, instead of coming back for all these years, only to be disappointed with what it's become. To hell with the untapped potential and room for improvement, I'd take S1 being the end over seeing everyone yammer on about how their dreams have been consistently crushed for 4+ years.
Generally most people are in the same boat as you, except unlike the aggrieved portion of fans, they don't bother to sign up to messageboards or tweet things at the devs constantly.
The real issue with season 2 and New Frontier for me is that you don't get the opportunity to get to know your fellow survivors in hubs like you did in season 1. That was one of the things I truly loved about the first season that I feel has been lacking. I enjoyed being able to talk to the people in my group when there was a little break from the chaos. It helped me get to know them better and form more of a bond with them. Playing as Javier this season doesn't bother me as much as it does others. What bothers me is not getting the chance to know the people I'm supposed to care about. I unfortunately don't feel a strong bond to most of the characters.

Not really since I've seen people not like ANF on Youtube,Facebook,Instagram and the forums. Also you have to keep in mind most people who play telltale games are casual telltale players at best and really have no rooted investment in the company or are hardcore fans as a good portion are here. What you'll find is most who are complaining on the forums specifically (myself included) are long time fans of telltale and the walking dead who are frustrated with the abysmal product telltale produced known as ANF. We voice our opinions and remain actively involved on the forums because we want telltale to improve and to improve the walking dead. A good portion of casual telltale fans will frequently forget that a series is even continuing due to it taking too to release and will play a series and most likely forget about the story and characters.
Guys, The Walking Dead is over. The days of S1 are never coming back and never will come back and I don't give a shit what the outside mainstream is saying cough sheep cough ANF is just pathetic and is not something Telltale should ever be proud of.
It's dumb, insulting, lazy, and just insufferable and the only thing I'm pumped for in the finale is how the flying fuck Telltale is going to make sense of this mess and even if they do, it's not going to fix anything.
Sadly but true however Glenn was use much better. He went to that hotel and gets trap but gives you advice to take down the zombies/walkers … morewhile making humour. then he later gives you feedback on weather you kill or didnt kill the girl in the hotel.
All of which I think they could've had Doug do instead.
Yeah and the majority of steam really like it.
You focus on FB and youtube posts and selective read those comments similar to your opinion.
The fact is in Youtube I have read lots of positives.
And I suspect you are a big fan too, just complainig and bugging Telltale here every day hoping they will make Clem fully playable again next season.
Most of the complainers are kids who want to play a kid the same age based on this forum.

It would have been extremely boring to continue the season 2 little girl victim with super natural powers who always lose everyone she loves.
I am happy Telltale did some change and I love the introduction of this Cuban family.

Lol
Having a tantrum again?
I remember your previous tantrums because I wrote I like this game and your madness because I didn't write a good reason why I like it lol.
You little dictator.
It is not up to you wether I edit my post or not because of spelling errors.
It is very obvious your only reason of complaining is not playing Clem in every post of yours.
And it already improved.
I would have been bored to continue the miserable young girl victim from season 2 who keeps losing everyone she loves. I am glad they introduced this Cuban family for a difference.
And don't worry. If they create an older badass Gabe people would forgive him.
Javi is my favorite playable character right now.
Your comments piss me off. A lot.
But the fact is you are a big fan too like me
Yes, I am a big fan and I think it's fucking o… morebvious - why else would I be here?
You are complaining here every day
I am complaining here everyday so this series IMPROVES. I guarantee you won't feel as sad as when Lee died if any of these characters die. I guarantee you.
They sold many thousands and they keep selling.
360+ Employees.
Guardians sold really badly.
ANF sold decently, but the sales were still not too good.
With this I hope with the next installment Javi is playable again, or Gabe lol
And with this, you hope Telltale goes bankrupt. You know the majority hates Gabe. I don't mind Javi as long as Clem is ALSO playable with a 50/50 split. Don't reply back with "oh no you just want Clem haha too bad you won't get Clem at all, it's Javi's story now!" because you don't fucking know what I want and what… [view original content]
Perhaps all of the Garcia's will die and we will have just a Clem and Javi duo in the next season.
Skybound already teased us with a new … moreart of Javi and Clem on their way to Alexandria!
I got the feeling this ANF season was meant to be Javi and Clem meeting each other.
Well you gave me an interesting idea, i need to port Clem model to GTA San Andreas and swap one of the CJ girlfriends with her, and then port Gabe and swap CJ with Gabe, and then... well u know...... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
P:S I'm very dirty i know, please forgive me for this, can't do anything about it!
I agree with almsot everything, though i don't think Season 2 was bad(it was the best in my opinion) and i think if we would played as Clemy in ANF in present time i wouldn't even argue about how shit it is(mostly because it would've been much better if we played as Clem) i mean if they don't want to give us only Clem story then why couldn't they give us 50/50 gameplay with Clem and javi? Like in TFTB? If it would've been like that i wouldn't even argue about ANF at all!
My only hope is that that the leaks about upcoming Clem DLC episodes(or Mini-Series like Michonne) will be true, and also that we are gonna play as Clem all of the Seasons including next S4, and that telltale add some Sci-Fi to TWD and make Clem always young and immortal so she never dies!

All I need now at least the key art, and that's enough for now. Just...don't leave us hanging here
Can't be, the joke was completely harmless. Probably pissed the wrong person off or have an offensive joke somewhere else.

Perhaps officialmonkey is 12 year old herself.
This makes sense she only wants to play Clem.
Don't worry.
Those complainers are in the minority.
I'd expect some news by the end of the week.
Are you serious?
ANF sux donkey butt
If you said that you have already said stuff like this before, then why are you doing it again?
Or... you can just ignore the vocal minority of complainers and enjoy the continuing adventures of Clem.
Believe it or not, you guys aren't the end-all be-all of the playerbase.

Ah yes, the classic "minority" argument from folks that don't want to hear valid complaints on objectively terrible writing and storytelling.
Free to voice my opinion. People have done the same thing giving it praise and promoting positivity of the series.
Of course not, we wouldn't want to upset the sheep herd too bad.
According to jobs the entire forums is a dismissive minority.

ok then what did you think glenn should have done scrap
Let's guess how many days of delay Ep 5 release on Mobile users this time huh !?
Actually, I personally don't trust the wiki unless it has some proofs, but yeah, that release date is fake.
You know that you are in the TellTale forums in The Walking Dead section right? How is it possible for no-one to get that joke?

If three years equals ANF, we must wait double of that to see a good S3.

You mean that Road to Survival game?
