  • This isn't really a good argument, but apparently in the AMA ages ago someone said how they put Clementine biting a apple in Ep1, because they wanted to pay homage to the moment that Clem said (determinant) that she 'loves apples' in S1. Those employees that added the minor detail in the episode supposedly worked at telltale during S1. This could blow up in my face, but what I'm trying to say is that some people behind the scenes haven't forgotten about the smallest of details like that, some that fans might not remember/think about too much. Its come to my attention that fan service nowadays is looked down apon here, but I just wanted to point that out.

Kenny is from the forgotten past of the walking dead that telltale has mostly forgot about.

  • That is why I love this forum

  • Yes they'll sprinkle in trivial fanservice occasionally (Clementine in general) but overall it's quite obvious they don't care about the previous seasons or the long standing fans. Kenny and Jane's handling in ANF is a prime example not to mention how They 100% disregarded S1&S2 in ANF from nearly every aspect. I find it funny they can pay homage to Clementine by having her eat an apple, but can't utilize her as the rightful main character of the series or use her in any meaningful manner.

  • What if the McCarrol Ranch IS the slaughterhouse? Uh oh? Jk that would be sorta dumb

Nope, I was looking forward to the Slaughterhouse pre-release... but you know, that turned out to be the damn factory in Ep3.

  • You make some good points but completely lost me when you start comparing a Naughty Dog game with a Telltale game.

Sorry I lost you there. I was trying to say that if the last of us 2 took that route where you build up a protagonist in one game and then completely disregard that in the next game and start from scratch (like Telltale did in this season), it would be unsuccesful and everybody would hate it.

(Yeah even right here I didn't explain it well but hopefully that somewhat clarifies what I was trying to say earlier.)

Though I disagree, it is good to hear that someone didn't mind the indroduction to this new cast.

It would have been extremely boring to continue the season 2 little girl victim with super natural powers who always lose everyone she loves. I am happy Telltale did some change and I love the introduction of this Cuban family.

  • I hate to say it, but if we get no news tomorrow, I feel like a 23rd release is unlikely :(

  • I know it i don't know what's so special about always releasing the final Tuesday of the month.

I've already said this a thousand times, but I'm going to say it again! This series creates an awesome perspective to walking dead because it's primary focus is on Clementine growing up in this hell. While Javier is pretty much just a younger latino version of Rick Grimes, this story has already been taken and this season is less intertaining because of it.

Before everybody pulls the "Clementine is just a female black/white/asian/latino/ whatever theories are going on now, version of Carl." That is false because the comics aren't focused on Carl growing up but rather about Rick protecting Carl and his friends. Another major difference is Clementine has lost all of her real family and her surrogate families (accept AJ) and has a much different story because of that.

  • fan service nowadays is looked down apon here

I think that fan service can work... just in the right conditions. Fan service is just extra bits that fans can recognise and appreciate, as they are special moments or things that only true, long-time (and sometimes just eagle-eyed) fans will notice. But those are the extra bits. The stuff that comes after the main plot and details of the story.
The problem with the fan service here is that, while good and appreciated, it goes unnoticed because it just gets mixed up the huge sea of lackluster content of the season. That might be why it is looked down upon here. The way I think people see it here is: the overall content is uninspired, while the only inspired, special content (the "apples" line) seems to have the only effort done on it, to appease the fans. [some could say the same about the EP4 flashbacks, too.]

  • I feel you, I think Telltale should just stick to miniseries involving the various characters they've built up. What if instead of ANF we got a miniseries completely tailored to the endings we got? Or a miniseries involving the 400 Days group coping from Howes and escaping an antagonist like Nate? Continuing TWD through miniseries would allow them time to focus on other things but continue their story gradually so fans don't get restless.

As bad as the season may be I'm NOT ready to wait three more years to see Clementine again. I'm really not ready.

Games don't need to be 100% finished to go for a rating, Telltale and other companies can and do send unfinished games to the rating boards so they can see the content to get an idea of what it happening in the episode/game and then set the appropriate rating.

Job often plays a unfinished version or a rally close to finished version of the game before release which he then likes to tease us about.

There is also the fact that Telltale need to wait for Sony and Microsoft to certify the games on their consoles before release which normally takes around 2 weeks from the time it gets submitted, there is also the possibility that they want to wait until a specific date to release it.

  • Considering the game has been rated for 2+ weeks and they've been working on it a full month with a close to finished product of the game I'd expect a release on the 30th.
