I'm not sure when the Walking Dead became a Dating Sim, but this season it's definitely happened. I actually might not have minded as much if some key character development had been also displayed, but with the shortened episodes this series has been seriously hit or miss with me. I don't support Clem x Gabe at all for episode 5. I could've gotten behind it for future releases if they'd just focus on developing them. There's been too many main romances this season and only one of them were fleshed out because of this ( which was Kate x Javier if you went that route ).
This isn't about making Clem happy or not. Finding AJ will make Clem happy. Knowing his father is safe, and the herd situation/war in Richmond will make Gabe happy. It would be very interesting to explore what 'dating and romance ' means in a post apocalyptic world, but it needs to be left for another season if that's the route they take so there's an actual opportunity to go through those motions. Otherwise, this is sort of a disney romance with zombies.
I don't mind it but it needs to be more natural, it feels so fake. If they wind up together then so be it but Telltale needs to make their chemistry feel more real. Its all so forced.

No I don't want that. I consider Gabe to be way more underdeveloped in comparison to Clementine. Unless Clem is into d/s relationship as a dom or she wants to have another son, I don't see it realistically working. It's just too forced.

But not because I have some weird, fixated parental thing with Clementine, but because there's absolutely not a shred of chemistry between them, nor have the writers actually bothered to develop the actual characters themselves. Their scenes have mostly just consisted of exchanging glances, often without any dialogue and when they do speak, it's brief and uneventful, and doesn't in any way give us a suggestion as what they'd find attractive about each other, personality or appearance wise. The only thing that indicates a romance is the fact that one happens to be a female teenager and the other a male, undeniably annoying, teenager. That's it. Because when you exclude that tiny little detail and the conclusion to the possibility that both are heterosexual, they have no reasons to build a romantic connection amongst each other.
I think a lot of people take issue with the Gabetine ship because they don't like Gabe. Gabetine becoming canon means having to have his character stick around longer.

No way in hell lol. Has Gabe even ever killed a walker before??? Can he really use a gun? I mean he claims he can, but he hasn't proven it yet. All he's done was point it at a guy for no good reason. Clementine being in a relationship with him at this point would make Clem a parent to both AJ, AND Gabe. She'd have to babysit him so he doesn't die. Maybe later on once his nuts drop, but not yet. He ain't a man yet.
Okay, may I ask: Why the hell would wait until the finale of a season/installment to do a time skip? I can only assume this is after Clementine has left and we get a taste of the Garcia's status when Telltale decides to use them again.
