What is the most beautiful world you have seen in an open world game

If you take a look at my console, don't be surprised when you see 90% of my games are open world games.

Well, mine is definitely London in AC Syndicate, its just so irresistable.

  • From what I've seen so far Horizon Zero Dawn is pretty cool looking.

But fallout 3 wins it for me. To me it is beautiful in the way it brings you to the future of earth. Remember picking it up on release day. Was insane when I first saw it! Yeah it's not a beautiful in terms of lush greenery etc. but I think anyone who's played it will understand.

  • I personally hate futuristic settings. But that's me, hehe.

  • I know the graphics don't actually compare to the games we have today but most of the time I would play Spider-man 2 to take in the view of the city. I would websling to the bottom of a tourist helicopter and put on some Journey music while It took me in around the city.

But I think the most beautiful open world that I've played has to be Red-Dead Redemption. From the snowy mountain's spruce-filled forests, where it was common to find dear and bears to hunt, to open deserts where the tumbleweeds roll and where most of the small old-western towns are. Plus all the gunfights were fantastic! Damn. Thinking about the game makes me want to play it again.

  • The world of fallout 4 is pretty damn beautiful. But I also liked watchdogs 2 San Francisco especially all the NPC behaviors even though behaviors not really considered “beauty” in a game

  • red dead, the witcher 3.

  • Oblivion, for more reasons than just graphics

I liked the Skyrim world especially when i saw the aurora, i would often just walk around looking at the scenery.

  • The witcher 3, I took all these screenshots myself in game

  • Duuuude that's not open world!

  • I dislike dark games that give off a negative vibe. I don't think its beautiful at all. But t really, the graphics are really good!

  • Vice City

  • During the day The Witcher 3 is actually pretty colorful, maybe too colorful for some people who think it doesn't quite match with the general vibe in the world sometimes.
Also in the DLC "Blood and Wine" they introduced a new region, that one being even more colorful.

I've always found the elderscrolls to have beautiful locations, mainly skyrim and online. And when I was younger, GTA San Andreas was also quite nice, best place to live your fucked up sadistic dreams while having a location that looked nice for its time.

I hope they make a GTA San Andreas: Explore edition. Where you explore with your friend on your couch with current gen graphics!

    Never gonna happen but still.

  • Best game for those memes. Even better when you max out your fat and sex appeal to show your friends how lonely you are. That is the true beauty of the game :3

I didint play The Witcher 3 but the way it looks, I think this one is best.

  • Easily The Witcher 3.Especially with locations like Toussaint or Skellige.

  • Witcher had a lot variations between its worlds that it simply had their own charm in it witch fascinated my eyes

  • Fallout 4, Red Dead Redemption, The Wicther 3.

  • The most beautiful world I've ever seen didn't come from a videogame, but rather from the real world. Yellowstone park Wyoming.

The air was so sweet and clean, being surrounded by all those immense trees, those towering mountains, and the local wildlife, it was a regular paradise.

The only thing that kinda sucked was at the time I was sick with the flu, and I didn't have my dog to go hiking with me.

  • Fallout New Vegas

  • I personally liked the environments in Firewatch and No Man's Sky.

  • Bioshock Infinite counts as an open world game?

  • Nope, it's a pretty linear game.

  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

  • Firewatch. I liked the colors and lighting of the game too.

  • Destiny 2. Hasn't really come out yet (and isn't exactly 'open world'), but I've played the Beta and I have to say... the new locations are BEAUTIFUL!

Nessus, especially. Everyone's so concerned with all the nerfing and buffing that no one really sits back and admires the wonderful and detailed maps Bungie made for this game.

  • Ah, the options! From the vibrance of Los Santos in GTAV, to the immersive world of the Commonwealth of Fallout 4, plus many others like Skyrim in TESV, or Cyrodiil in TESIV, so, SO, so many options to choose from. But, if I were to choose only one, I'd certainly go with Fallout 4's Commonwealth. I know it's not a city, but it's a bunch of cities so you can call it a country. I absolutely love it, extremely immersive and the smallest of details are given heaps of attention.

But **** Preston for his constant "another settlement needs our help" bull****.

1st time I've seen Minecraft, it pretty shocked me.

    Also

Morrowind Maybe? Not that beatiful really, but music makes it magestic.

  • Not sure if it's THE most, but Red Dead Redemption sure is beautiful.

  • Fallout nv I love the western feel

  • Fallout new vegas it just has that western feel it's a sort of feeling I get when I play the first two not 4 tho because that is extremely lazily done and it's a a open world with nothing to do

  • I really love post-apocalyptic worlds where the nature takes over human remains and shows how insignificant and small humanity is in comparison to everything else. That would make The Last of Us' my favourite world to explore. I find apocalypse very beautiful, so I also really enjoy I Am Alive, 35mm, Metro, and so on.

The most beautiful game of all time is definitely Witcher 3, the scenery depends on where you go, there are all types of weather, different landscapes, etc. I could never forget the view of the cloudy purple-gold sky. It reminds me so much of the rural areas in Poland where I live. My personal favourite location in Witcher 3 are Skellige Islands.

To be hones, I think snowy areas are my "aesthetic". I love everything that have snow falling from the sky, blizzards, rain dropping and storms growling in the distance. Could spend a whole day just listening to rainymood or something similar. So this is why I always come back to The Long Dark.

There is this really big, ambiguous, massively-multiplayer game called Life, and it has a beautiful open world called Earth.
The possibilities of what you can do are endless.
It's sort of a mix between adventure, survival, platformer, horror, puzzle, action, RPG, shooter, simulation and sandbox.
The downsides to this game is that you can't see how much progress you've made so far, and you only have one life...
People have different ideas, beliefs and theories on who the developer of this game really is.

It's the only game that you need to play in order to play all of the others . . .
